I'm sure the reason Kevin and Kirk stopped wasn't because of not getting enough subscribers and feedback but because they were struggling with validity of what they were doing and why. They seem like shy dudes. It probably isn't in their nature to direct attention to themselves and put themselves out there. Kirk seems to be a bit of a perfectionist too so I can see him not being comfortable with what he would consider poor quality videos.
