Well, the second demand isn't too unreasonable (Pretty much their only demand that ISN'T unreasonable), depending on how you look at it.

Does it mean like the school's janitors who weren't able to get into the cafeteria to clean it because of the protestors' blockade would be compensated for the wages they would have ordinarily earned cleaning the cafeteria?

pfft, i was there and all of their demands are hollow. I mean seriously... at one point they deny eating any food because the company that offered it "outsourced to prison labor," yet they accept the food after an hour and eat it anyways. Also, they had no resolve seeing as like 20 kids left to go to class after the first night. They all deserve to get expelled and the students that dont even go to NYU deserve to get arrested. They all wanted attention, and now they can get it...in jail.
