  • mein absolutes Lieblingsvideo von The Fixx

  • Saw the open up for THE POLICE & A.F.O.S. And THE FIXX Stole the SHOW!

  • One of their best songs! Saw them live Saturday night in San Diego! They were great as usual. Thanks

  • Awesome! Many thanks

  • Thank you so much for this! Have loved the FIXX since the beginning. Seen them many times starting with the Phantoms tour. Cy is a criminally overlooked singer/lyricist. Dan Brown was a big bass influence for me with his tasteful use of empty space, cool rhythms, and fretless work. Funny to see Jamie with that Ibanez instead of his usual "Brownie". I bought the exact same guitar in 1983! Rupert was very innovative and a major influence as well on my synth work.

  • Wow! ...one of the few studio tracks that sounds 10x better live! ...very deep song and simple yet complex. There's no other band like the FIXX. ...so talented. ...saw them live around 1992/93, and they were amazing. ...talked to them in the parking lot for about an hour before the show. ...really friendly and down to earth. I remember the singer doesn't drink, which is probably partly why it looked like he hadn't aged at all since the 80s.

  • ONE OF THEIR BEST SONGGS EVER: i HEAR IT AGAIN AND AGAIN

  • Hahahaha What is Cy doing at the start? I don't think even he knows! GREAT TRACK!

  • @22ndWave Cy's antics were something I have always just loved about the live shows!

  • probably the most underated 80's bands. this album ment the world to me in highschool, and still rates very high in my opionion.

  • Love the FIxx ......... what a voice ! where are todays voices gone ?

  • once oftheir best songs ever.

  • I really like this live version. Shoot! it's been way too long since I've heard this song at all.

  • brilliant

  • The album that this song originates, "Reach the Beach" is superb, not one bad song.

  • One of my faves from Reach the Beach. Sound is a little low though.

  • One of the best songs ever written-there you go.

  • what a great act. I think they are great

  • This is their most underrated and most dramatic song that they had ever created. Fantastic fun to sing outside or whilst driving. Awesome stuff.

  • great great genius sensastional !

  • is this their best song ,i think so

  • The guitarwork is outstanding.

  • priceless:-) feel them Goosebumps? OUTSIDE';_)) lets go deeper and deeper 1988 spring break style

  • priceless:-) feel them Goosebumps? OUTSIDE';_)) lets go deeper and deeper

  • priceless:-) feel them Goosebumps? OUTSIDE';_))

  • priceless:-)

  • I agree with briagh. The fixx and big country which I was fortunate to have both seen live in 83-84 were consisdered one hit wonders but their albums offered so much more. I love Youtube !

  • @Poolman003 The Fixx was not a one-hit wonder.

  • My all-time favorite Fixx song.

  • Like my other two faves, (a-ha and Big Country) The Fixx's genius is totally ignored by the popular music cultures. Impecable vocals, rich melodies, layered harmonics.... and the lyrics actually have meaning. Today's supposed music has no character or meaning, its all just dreck!!!

  • I'm with you totally! My favorite groups are The Fixx, Big Country, and Talk Talk. All very original with meaningful lyrics and highly textured tunes!

    DITTO on today's 'music'!

    P.S. Aha was great also.

  • CHEERIO!!...well put my friend...good job....my other favorite group...MEN AT WORK...also had great music...

  • @briagh

    there are exceptions

  • @briagh

One of the most cogent comments that I've seen on YT in recent months. Pertinent words that you've penned there my friend. I love BC and A-ha as well. Don't forget Talk Talk and Saga too.

    Peace out!

  • anyone know where I can get the guitar tab for this tune?

  • ...one of my fave FIXX songs

Perfect...obscure song form an obscure band for Mr Obscuro

  • Well said Nero.

I didn't see them until 2005, but it was worth the wait.

    Outstanding show.

  • Thank you one of my all time favorite bands. They are still touring and writing new music. The Fixx new album should be out in 2010;)

  • me three.....

  • The Fixx is awesome! I liked them back in the day but recently got back into them.

  • THE FIXX WAS 1 OF MY FAVE'Z IN THE DAY! ANOTHER KOOL BAND WAS FREUR! (DOOTDOOT, ETC)...these are jst 2 underated bands in that era! 80'z4eva!

  • @drjaz696

You are so righ on TOTALLY underated. They are still making great music.

I hear their new album should be out next year 2010:)

  • THE FIXX IN CONCERT KICK ASS...

  • Main St was on the left hand side of upper Queen st, and yes, i was fortunate.

  • Rainbow Music Hall was turned into a Walgreens and then I think torn down. Sad.

  • What a most excellent vid!! Caught them in New Jersey about 5 yrs ago! thanks for posting!

  • Any way you hold a light up to it:

    a truly great band.

  • the fixx didnt get enough credit for their music in my opinion. Thier music is unlike any other band that i know of and thier music is very unique

  • Amen to that!

  • One must truly have an ear for remarkable music to appreciate the subtle nuances and unparalled genius this band offers to the world. You my friend, have nailed it. They are unlike any other band. SPOT ON!

  • Long live the 80s!!!

  • Hope to see you at the Fairfax show- Fixx concert 1 week from today-

  • Great 80's Band, i was fortunate to see them at "Main Street" Auckland.

  • Where was Main Street in Auckland, my memories are clouded. You were lucky to see these guys live!

  • one of my favorite songs from the fixx, and there are many. thanks for posting this great footage.

  • This is a fantastic song. I keep coming back to it.... can't get enough of its atmosphere and feeling.

  • Awesome!! I put this song to an outdoor related video when I was in grade 10 in '85. Love to see them live!

  • Best song ever written. I have already planned this tune playing at my funeral when i pass.

  • not a bad choice. i've instructed my friends to have Fleetwood Mac's Albatross as my burial tune.

  • My God I miss this time in music...glad I was around to enjoy it first-hand. Long-live the Fixx, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Clan of Xymox, etc...

  • i agree and . i always thought the Fixx was ahead of its time.

  • OMFG! I MISSED this very concert, due to transportation problems!!! How F-'in cool is the Internet!!! :)

  • I ditched alot of school...

  • You too? Where did you go that's just it.

  • Ocean Beach, Balboa Park, Home, friends houses.

  • Reach the beach was a great album....

  • it was their best

  • @pailhook still is a great record!!!! Great music never dies!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pailhook Reach the Beach is one of those albums that will stand the test of time. I played that cassette to death when I was a teen. I still have that same cassette.

  • @kevhar12 right, but i was almost a twen:-)...today still running in mp3 player, all of them...

  • @pailhook Was??? Still is!!!!

  • excellent point. Past tense used was incorrect great work lives on. The shame is the lack of video archive footage this seems to be it other than 80s vids.

  • I didn't here this until 1998 but I love it. I do remember back in 1981 I heard red skies and was hooked. I believe this band was lyrically ahead of their time.

  • I recall being 16 years old, cruising around town late at night in my brother's Ford Grenada. Me in the back seat, my older bros in the front...getting stoned to this song. Good times.

  • Wow, so long ago. Great band.

  • I agree. i hope someone posts 'opinions' from the year

  • One of my favorite Fixx songs ever.Play the album version really loud, it just jumps of record. gives me goosebumps.Jamie West Oram is the man.Great band.Still doin it too.

  • A solid band with a hard rock edge that started but stayed ahead of the pack as far as New Wave music. They still tour and are an amazing live show. Saw them in 05 and they still KICK ASS....Go see them and buy their Cds....

  • Great song! Thanks! A lot!^^

  • Takes me back to August 1984; like yesterday.

  • Love this song. Such a Great Band. Thx for posting :)

  • What a great back catalog this band has. You could really get lost in it. Their songs sound amazing when played live.

  • Does anyone know what Jamie's set up is? What effects and amp does he use to get that crisp clean sound? I see from his toggle switch that he is using the bridge pick-up.

  • Jamie West Oram knows EVERY chord in the world.Have you ever tried to play their songs?,OMG such huge stretches on the fretboard!!

  • This tune is a sonic maseterpiece!

  • Great post!!! Nice to see this!!!

  • great song!!thanks.......
