That clay looks nice and you really manipulate it quickly. I notice most master potters have the head wobble when they are pulling up a wall. Yours gets really fast towards the top. What are you looking at what do you think makes your head do that instead of just your eyes? Many of teachers do this too but I never thought to ask until now.
i love it...very nice...smooth and thin at the top....now that i sow it...i am going to have to try it.....i wont get it on the first time....but i will try until i get it....but i have to master the bottle first...i hate makin the bottle.....its hard....but i am getting the hang of it...thanks for the video.....like i said...very nice.....i love it...
Excellant work! im a sophmore in high school in Art3 and four next semester and have been struggling with bottles a lot. this helps so much! thanks for posting!
Raku is so much fun! You are so skilled on the wheel...I am getting back into throwing after a very long hiatus, so I hope I can eventually throw well.

Now, how do you trim the bottom?
MondoBeno 3 years ago
Use a chuck, or just hand trim it.

That clay body looks like it is wonderful for throwing. May I ask what the clay body is?

A most enjoyable and educational video. I've mastered (ehem!) slabbing and coiling - throwing is another maatter. Nice to see a "proper job"

Fairport Convention are English but they do sound sort of Irish so it's an easy mistake to make.
