I gave you my heart, I gave you my soul, I even gave you my sphincter hole. Seattle was rainy, Seattle was cloudy, but you gave me a blow job in the back of an Audi. I love you Conley Woods, there I said it...
How did he put the -1/-1 on Ooze. I understand the Ooze gains the ACTIVATED abilites of Druid, but how does the -1/-1 effect get transferred to the Ooze
How did he put the -1/-1 on Ooze. I understand the Ooze gains the ACTIVATED abilites of Druid, but how does the -1/-1 effect get transferred to the Ooze
@GCD89 It's activated. The ability reads "Put a -1/-1 counter on Devoted Druid: Untap Devoted Druid" The put -1/-1 counters it's a cost, just like paying mana or tapping to activate an ability. You put the counter and then you can activate the ability, so if the druid is 0/1 and you put another counter on it, it dies before it untaps. If it wasn't that way, you could get infinite mana with just a druid.
@Shadmed2 He says that you can have infinite mana; Either hes mistaken, or I dont get it. I get the part with infinite large creature (with ooze and quillspike and druid), but I dont get it how you can have infinite mana, when you have to pay one green/black for quillspike's ability, and you spent that one with tapping ooze, while devoted druid is in the yard??? Can someone please, explain.
@tianyouhu It can destroy the ooze, but if you're helping him put the cards he needs in the graveyard, that doesn't help you. Also, thorling can grant the ooze indestructibility.
just usual for conley woods to brew up another garbage deck in 10% of the usual time players are given, and a bunch of noobs to rave him as the god king, when he's the noob king. honestly, an all creature deck during jund, soul sisters, and now this? he's crazy, no, he's not crazy, he's just bad.
@xjsk88 Yeah hes really bad. Thats why he plays magic for a living. Thats why all stars like Lsv and Pat chapin both say that Woods is one of the most innovative deck builders playing now. So yeah. Hes really bad.
@ThePanzerShark lsv, who has his own show becuz his ego is bigger than his brain and once said that "vampires was never really a deck", and patrick chapin, who says that anyone who doesn't netdeck is innovative? lol, listen to yourself. play magic for a living? if a body builder says he body builds for a living, does that mean he's as successful as say, lebron james?
@xjsk88 When you actually have a legitimate debate in a formal setting or even observe one, you'll know why your points are invalid. Basketball has a completely different average payout. If you were comparing a Pro Magic player versus the non-tourny winning player then you would be correct. Losing and failing to win his own objective would make him unsuccessful.
This isn't high school people. Mocking 15,000-25,000$ + is quite stupid.
@xjsk88 You really show how little you know. People praise Connelly because he's got an amazing deck building mind. And he's got crazy balls to build his own out-of-the-box creations and run them at Pro tours. Meanwhile, most of the top players are essentially net-deckers. Look at Worlds this year. None of the top players were running their own creation. To perform at his level using home-brew creations is almost unheard of which is why his peers give him the respect he deserves.
@ERK1138 netdecking is taking a list, card for card, even in the sideboard/mana base, and using it as your own creation. as of late (as in, maybe a year) ive seen 1 netdeck that made it to the top, and that was valakut where you cant vary much. netdecks never get #1 in the tournament scene, so you don't need to make completely out of the blue decks to win. conley woods has never made a new deck type that consisntely got #1
Interesting that he said the deck could have trouble if the opponent resolves a Jace, when this deck has access to incredible anti-Jace tech in Vampire Hexmage. Oozes turn into Hexmages with one in the yard, and Fauna Shaman can tutor for it; if that's not perfect as a 1 or 2-of then I don't know what is.
@niczim123 Ooze was cracked a while ago--the Ooze/Triskelion/Phyrexian Devourer Legacy deck that uses Survival of the Fittest deals 100 damage like it ain't no big thing.
This deck is pretty remarkable. I love combo, and this spin is so fresh. Conley is a pretty remarkable deck builder. Considering its record at worlds, I imagine it won't go too many places, but I'm about as Johnny as they come, so I really appreciate it.

i personally prefer when the deck is on the table. this way here is better to stay on the player etc. but i think being able to see the whole deck on the screen at once is more important and more relevant. this way makes it much more difficult to understand what is going on in whatever deck is being featured.
So Dorothy went to Japan to find the Wizard of Oz;
On the note of how it looks, it really could be the budget (combo) deck that tries to fight out Pyromancer's Ascension for extended. I might just have to build both Pyromancer and Ooze & Oz with both of them being up my alley of play.
I've been saying that I wanted to run something with Ooze and fulminator mage for a while now, but I couldn't have pictured something this sick. Nice job Conley.
@LinuxOtakuTheNerd "Ooze of Oz is 5-1 through 2 rounds of Extended and the loss is apparently a misplay" - Magic Pro Tour Twitter. I'm sure glad we have people who know what they're talking about posting here. 6 rounds of extended haven't even happened yet...
@LinuxOtakuTheNerd I'm not such a loser where I pay that much fucking attention to how many wins and loses the guy has. The interviewer said 6 and 7, so that's how I thought the deck was performing. Thanks for giving me useless knowledge and wasting my time by commenting. Good job.
