I was at this concert when I was 5 years old. I can tell you that all you could hear was massive screaming by hysterical women who were either crying or fainting. We did leave when my little sister started crying. This clip's audio is true blue to the concert. I would love to see more footage. Thanks to whoever posted this.
This is awesome… Enjoyed reading some of the comments too—would have been fun to have been there. Five dollars a ticket. And I bet by today’s standard tiny amps (No wall of Marshall’s? Are Ringo’s drums even miked?) My grandparents hated the Beatles and pretty much anything that wasn’t like Lawrence Welk! LOL. Pretty sure one of my aunts was at this show. My wife and I are headed back to Detroit later this summer for a reunion—will find out for sure. Thanks for sharing this!
I was at this show!! My Dad took me there for my 11th birthday. All I remember was sitting behind them and all the screaming. If I plugged my ears with my fingers I could hear the music better! I was standing up the whole time and I recall my Father just sitting there with a semi-disgusted look on his face! What a great memory. Thanks for this post!
@ParkerKenpoist funny thing, our parents were disgusted with the beatles...my dad said they cant play more than 4 chords..but did he ever think of the $ they make , i guess not..lucky you being at this show, my brother really wanted to see them in vancouver 1964 but no luck my dad would have nothing to do with the traffic then or later. he drove for a living. lol..did you take any b/w pictures? the closest to them for me is when my brother met paul at his home
@ellonysman He was SO WRONG about the "number" of chords they played. OH-MY-GOODNESS, wheeeewwww !!!!. Did you dad have a tin ear, or was he just being sarcastic / rude / jealous / mean / etc ?
I was there too, 12 years old. My Grandfather was an usher at the Olympia! I couldn't barely hear a thing. Women were fainting all over the place and my grandfather was lining up these fainted females in the large hallways.
I was there! Only 12 years old, I was among the SCREAMING fans at Olympia! It was pure mayhem and if you wanted to listen to their singing/playing, you couldn't. The high pitched screaming (and some fainting, too) went on the ENTIRE show! But I am so glad I was there....
My father in law was at this show. The ticket prices were around $5. He couldn't hear anything because of the screaming. The speakers/amplifiers were about a foot tall and couldn't put out much sound.

He certainly was, at minimum, mistaken.
