I kind of thought the ending wasn't that sad, hachi remembering all the joy he has with his master / BF in his live and then seeing him come out of the train station and running towards him and into a bright white light, almost as if they would spent the rest of eternity playing in heaven together atleast thats how i interpretted it ( i dont actually believe in heaven but i had to be optimistic and sorry for crappy English

I watched this film this afternoon and it was beautiful. The dog was amazing the way it tried to tell him there was something wrong. Hachi waited for ten years before he died himself. That bit in the film made me cry my eyes out.
