I think women should definitely get paid equal to men, I think everyone should get paid the same for any one job... but I'm afraid politicians are gonna try to pass a law that increases all womens pay by X percent... which won't even almost fix the problem.
...old outrage argument than the people would embrace you message more. As a citizen watching you as a politician that is the first thing that I think, to who has this injustice happened? Without these examples it just doesn't seem plausible in the age we live in, people in the US, California especially, are desensitized to these types of injustices, or they are hidden so well that we don't see them, but you must take a new route to uncover them.
The facts and the opinions you present make sense, but I feel that the majority of the public don't feel as compassionate about this issue as you because honestly, we don't understand or believe it. I've heard this fact of women receiving 70 cents per $1 compared to a man's wage, but it just doesn't resonate without a specific example. If you supported your argument more on specific examples of women working the same job as men and earning less for it, instead of the tired...
