From the distance of now, you can tell, if only the drugs and everything else hadn't messed him up, Sid would have become a pretty good musician in his own right - the tone of his voice is really nice (unless the statement he actually sings this, wasn't another one of Malcolm's nasty little tricks :))

i never said that they had no influence, just that sid's inability was probably not a lack of talent but a lack of drive since any retard can learn to play the bass parts to sex pistols songs. you dont have to be geddy lee or something, you just need a certain amount of patience. i doubt he really gave a shit about music.

I believe their music was MEANT to sound like that, they were more like a lifestyle than really trying to give a "shit" about music, ironically, not caring much about the quality of their music was what made them kind of unique.

This only proves that Punk Rock would never have been invented if it wasnt for Eddie Cochran. His style and Rhytm, along with a lot of the 50`s players. But Eddie is the Father. Sid also does Something else. An Eddie tune that only once more proves that Eddie Cochran is the Father of Punk Rock and one of the greatest Rock `N` Rollers!! C`Mon everybody!!!

Right on Raggarn74: Eddie Cochran was the greatest. "Somethin' Else" is the Rockingest song I have ever heard. Most people outside the music industry in North America have never heard of Eddie. Different story in Britain, mate. Check out Keith Richards doing "Somethin' Else".
