  • Hirokazu Kanazawa is the best

  • He is the best...

  • @academiadragaopnn He is one of the great masters of Shotokan Karate-do.

  • sure you didnt understod what wanted to say, ive seen better in other great masters, and i do see my own errors, i did not want to be disrespectable of course.

  • @HayajinSan Kanazawa He studied at the JKA Karate and later formed the SKIF. Beyond that, all left the same dojo or school and every teacher is excellent. The current teachers do not arrive or the heels of these Sensei

  • Ir must say that ive seen a lot better, canot understand how he passed the ranks, the way he leans is back awful.

  • @HayajinSan I like to see in any video as you do your kata. We must have great respect for teachers that are still alive and gave life to karate. An old saying says that when criticism is that you are viewing your own mirror.

  • I lol about fat Wow nerds commenting such video from home computer while their mum is cookin for them

  • cug~ dk

  • I find this as beautiful as Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto.

  • These Kata as well as the Pinan Kata of Shorin-Ryu are what caused me to come to a significant realization. A Karateka should spend as much time on Pinan/Heian as possible before they are required to learn Tekki/Naihanchi or other more advanced Kata. Doing so is extremely likely to foster graceful technique and generally beautiful Kata. This is pprobably why it's called Pinan/Heian.

  • this man really help me to understand and learn the kata and I'm yellow ribbon hehehe =)

  • i have orange belt =)

  • i have brown-belt

i love to do the katas like heian sandan heian yondan and heian godan

    they are easy and beautiful:)

  • nicely done!!!!! but the turn after oi zuki is a bit fast isnt it? Dont take this a critic, but i learned that it should be very very slowly done after the oi zuki into the kibadachi.

  • @jnp29 JKA standard. Kanazawa-sensei modifies quite a few things like the koho-tsukiage (reverse punch) to the rear being sideways here

  • I can't do that :(

    This guy rocks!!!!

  • He is the Real Master of Shotokan Karate

  • Hes vevry Good ! (:

  • hes very good eventually we should really learn what his actions r and understand them.OS!

  • wow dude this guy is hella good iam a orange belt solid and iam learning this kata hella hard but hes hell good shotkan karate rules lol:)

  • Need this Kata in 2 Weeks for my Karate-test.

If i do evrything right I´ll get my Green-Belt.

  • this was my favorite kata when i was a little karate kid! shame i quit

  • Karate is practiced for life! remember this: every kata deserves its "rights". Give it to them by approaching them with passion even if you have done them a 1000 times. It sounds "deep" to say otherwise, but Kanazawa is mortal and therefore your goal of doing the kata as well is not unthinkable. He would likely tell you that himself. It also may help to see kata as great fighters like Elwyn hall and Yahara do, as a practice method for kumite. That mindset helps to add passion at every turn.

  • CarnivacGames, I hope you got your belt. And don't worry about not being up to the level of Kanazawa Sensei - it's just not for us mere mortals to even compare ourselves with such great legends. I've ben doing Heian Sandan since 1978 and will never be even close to the level of Kanazawa Sensei, or any other of the greats. All we can do is strive to be as good as we possibly can. That's exactly what Kanazawa Sensei and other greats are doing as well. Just, their limits are way higher than ours :)

  • this is my kata!

  • Kata melhor que tem pra fazer...Exelente esse video !!!

  • im 7. kyu at the moment and im anxious to learn this kata! :-)

  • osss

  • It's shotokan...

  • and i rock at it

  • or maybe, third grade kata

  • this is definitely shotokan karate. sensei kanazawa even published books about shotokan katas (Shotokan International Kata Vol. 1. Ikeda Shoten Co., Tokyo 1981). i hope one day i can visit a practice session with him.

  • this doesnt look like shotokan(im not sure), and don't you mean O' sensei kanazawa, I mean this guy is a 10th degree black belt!!!

  • This is Hirokazu Kanazawa... he founded the SKIF... I'm fortunate enough to have trained in his class on his annual visit to Australia... O'sensei is Gichin Funukoshi - the founder of Shotokan...

  • It's actually mind-blowing to watch him execute every move to perfection. It's even more amazing to watch him demonstrate katas in person. He really is a legend.

  • this sensei is the guy who graded us to the next belt. he's a serious dude, he knows what he doing, even at his age now he's a badman.

  • This guy;s the master don't use anyone else if you trying to learn KATA

  • I have to admit that as an orange belt, I have been using Luca for learning my katas. But Kanazawa is much cleaner and easier to learn from. I will be primarily using him from now on!

  • Wow! Best ever! Love him so much!

  • heian sandan , the 3 kata , my favorite kata

  • the third kata

  • my boyfriend got to eat sandwiches with Kanazawa. Thats awesome!

  • "This guy" is one of the most katekians in the world ever!

  • @SharkAttack46 yeah, He's got the 10th Dan, hasn't he? Quite impressive. *thumb up*

  • he is WAY better than Luca Valdesi

  • Oh wow. This guy knows quite abit about about what hes doing.

  • @Vooba he is THE best in the world at theis time is is around 90 and travels to 7 countries a year! his sensai was the inventor of shotokan karate......yeah i guess you could say he is alright....
