Printing more money would be an excellent way to help the crisis if the money was distributed to ordinary people, but it's not. The money is given to the banks who then loan the money to people, putting them further into debt. For a brief time it appears to lift the economy until those people have spent their loans then you are back to square one but with more debt!
Well will people realise that economic crisis is when ordinary people dont have money to spend because the rich have it all. US economic policy in response to this is to give tax cuts to the rich and pay freezes to public sector workers, which is then mimicked by the private sector.
Why does this happen? because rich people run the US. The US is in meltdown and nothing can stop it whilst rich people are running the country.

Printing more money would be an excellent way to help the crisis if the money was distributed to ordinary people, but it's not. The money is given to the banks who then loan the money to people, putting them further into debt. For a brief time it appears to lift the economy until those people have spent their loans then you are back to square one but with more debt!

An you're just hearing about the bad parts of america and not your average place/suburb. An even in the ghettos over hear people live better than most countrie's middle class do. Most of them have cable tv, internet, cell phones, and all other accessories, with the exception of the homeless (there are barley any homless though). Oh, an we LOVE to eat :)

@RunWhilstYouCan I live in the US and I'm completely fine, so is everyone around and everyone I know. It's not a bad place, In fact it's the safest to live, high standard of living. Everywhere you go your gonna find people that aren't exactly normal. But everyone does things different. Not trying to insult you or anything but still. Actually I do agree with the fat part, I'm not fat but a lot of people here are. remember we came from england.

The problem is you think wealth is finite. That is, if Bill Gates is getting richer than somebody is getting poorer. But, wealth is not finite. Productivity creates wealth. Gates created wealth for himself and others. Capitalist countries have always been more productive and wealthy than socialist. And EU and US could support the poor better than the Soviets and pre-Capitalist China. That's why all the old communist countries are moving toward capitalism and free markets.

Some say the financial crisis all started because of the government's "socialist" push to put people in homes they couldn't afford by insuring mortgages through government agencies Fannie and Freddie Mac. Socialism hasn't worked out well. Look what happened to the Soviet Union. Why did Capitalist West Germany prosper but Socialist East German remain poor? China/India didn't suffer much during the crisis because of their emerging Capitalist economies.

financial crisis started by borrowing money and spending it with out saving....and then bailing the banks out, plus the rich are taxed at a much less rate than the working class and many of the rich didnt pay their taxes.....a good example is greece

@gir Socialism is not defined by borders, it's an economic model. It can be global I suppose, but if history shows that socialism hasn't worked nationally or regionally, why chance it on a global basis? Also, the bank bail out was paid back to the gov't. In America we use a progressive tax system, the more you make, the higher the percentage tax rate. Also, why are the countries that used to live under Socialism are the same nations that despise it most today? i.e. Eastern Europe, Balkans, etc.
