  • I'm liking the TARDISes!

  • I'm liking the Tardises!

  • I like how people dont understand old consoles and that they dont have HD cables, only s-video on some of them.

  • how much dos a N64 cost

  • Hey, i love all the episode in which you talk about the store, either the people that come in the store or games you bought/sold.

But i would love it if you showed us a clip of you working while its busy. Just take like 15 minutes and show it to us in a fast forward. Put funny words in it and what ever you like lol

Just a tought, cause i havent seen an episode in which you where selling the store like you where at the start of your episodes. Tell me what you think!

  • I did check out that respective vid! I really dig your cable management with your game room setup (sick as hell!). But I here ya about your quick disconnect reasoning.

Well i'm glad you agree in respects to DC and it's stellar VGA output feature. I certainly hope that out of these conversations you do in fact go VGA with DC! If you do, please share a vid and give your honest feedback on it. I said I dig your content so i'll subscribe, if you can justify doin the same, i'd be very appreciated :)

  • @L1 Games: Just wanted to comment on your gaming setup and tell you it's pretty cool, but unfortunately as good as it is, it doesn't make the most of the consoles you have hook'd up to it which is somewhat of a waste. You should at least have your consoles hooked up wit S-vid? I implore you to hook up your DC via VGA with a VGA box cuz will make your games look amazing with visual image that will surely surprise you. Anywho, just wanted to say that i dig your vids and your store very much! :)

  • @CDages

The point here is a quick connect system that allows for the quick hook up and disconnection of consoles. I didn't have that as a cheap and easy option with this setup. Check out the "building a gameroom number 5" video and you'll know what I mean.

I agree that the DC looks better with the VGA (especially on the HDTV) and I'll do that. but for just hooking up and playing here and there, I'm pleased with this:)

Glad you like the videos! Thanks for the support:)

  • What about a ps2 being black and white on a newer tv with a component cable how do you fix that?

  • Great video Muzz, Thanks for the info.

  • How do you play the old systems on a big screen LCD like that? I plugged my PS2 into my new TV and I found it really blurry and non playable. Maybe I've just become too accustomed to HD content? I never really thought of myself as a graphics whore but I just can't play it.

  • @seekndestroy95 You can buy a ridiculously expensive upscaler but these usually add even more input lag and LCD's have fairly bad lag as it is so I wouldn't recommend doing this.

You can run PCSX2 on your computer. hook it up to your tv and force PS2 games in 1080p. This makes your library look absolutely incredible but you need a decent computer to run full speeds and the purists will argue it's not as good as the real thing.

The last option is to buy an old CRT for the non HD systems.

  • @TheHornyHomunculus

Think I'll just put up with it, the games last gen are just that great gameplay wise that it doesn't bother me too much.

  • @seekndestroy95

I think the games look great. I don't see the need to drop money that I'd rather spend on something for my collection, on something to make an already good picture just a little better. But thats just me.

  • @seekndestroy95 get component cables, it makes a lot of difference

  • Needs a mini fridge !

  • asus g73 series laptop?

  • @neoyoc good eye! close. G72G

  • little known fact. the DC fully supported 16:9

  • @ff8123

you're right. The Dreamcast supports games that display in 16:9.

But not all games have that option

  • "Hey Gamers, what's up?!" i know im in for a treat everytime i hear that

  • I have a TV that autodetects the width/height ratio.

  • Hey Muzz! I just wanted to ask if you have any PS one consoles with the screen combo in your store at the moment. I am planning on making a trip up to the area and I would like to swing by the store. It would be even more epic if i could pick up a PS one screen combo while I am there!

  • @AtomiXStudios

Sorry, I don't see them very often:(

  • I know your a console gamer but what do you think about EA making Mass Effect 3 only for The Origin Platform ( and consoles, of course)

  • how would you capture video from older consoles that only have rf out?

  • @TheBandEproductions

Great question, I may work on that for my next video:)

  • @TheBandEproductions get a VCR, the rest? well........go ask your gynecologist

  • @ipodxdude

Not all VCRs work. I had some trial and error looking for one that would do it.

  • @ipodxdude i have a vcr and i know that i need an easy cap, but when i record video from my 2600 the feed comes out blurry...

  • I HAVE THE SAME TV

    ITS SO GOOD

  • Advice: You should use a CRT monitor to play old school games. An old CRT tv such as the Sony Wega does a good job as well.

  • @ryanc519

Not sure if I should put a disclaimer on here or something.

I simply don't want a old TV in my gameroom. I have 9 consoles hooked to this one. 2 of them are HDMI and 2 are component. so, I need the HD. I don't have room for an older TV/second TV and I'm perfectly happy with the Picture on my HD. So I made the decision to keep it this way:)

  • @L1Games Well, at least get an X-RGB 3 if you know what that is and where to get one.

  • @ryanc519

Honestly, I can think of too many other cool game's/consoles I'd rather drop that kind of money on. Those things average around 400-500 bucks last time I looked. and in all honesty, I don't think it does enough to warrant that price tag. if it were $100 or under, sure:) But for any more than that, I'm happy enough with the picture I'm getting. I'm a simple guy with relatively simple needs:) LOL

  • Good shit bro. I admire your seriousness

  • L1Games why do you get most of your games on Xbox 360?

  • @soul71000

thats just where I keep some of my 360 special edition boxes. I have about the same number of PS3/360 titles currently. but I do tend to play mt 360 more. more of my friends are on live and have 360 than PS3/PSN. plus I don't like the mandatory installs that a lot of the multiplatform games have on the PS3 versions. So my PS3 has become a machine for playing Sony exclusives while I play pretty much everything else on my 360.

  • @L1Games that's funny in that it's the exact reverse for myself... lol...but I feel both systems have a pretty good gaming experiance... have yet to really try any of the move games for PS3 or 360....

  • L1Games will you be getting Batman Arkham City if a game of the year edition that has all the dlc on disc comes out?

  • @soul71000

If someone trades it in and I can play it for free, then yeah. LOL

  • Good stuff, I assume if your playing a game on the NES or something like that it would be better on a standard TV correct?

  • @TheLoadingScreenz

theres always something to be said for playing classics on a picture tube. They seem a bit more ...I dunno, Crisp:) but I think they look good on the LCD too:)

  • that's wrong you should be playing the old consoles on a CRT TV lol !

  • @RaulBillieJean

I have 9 consoles hooked to this TV thoug. 2 of them are HDMI and 2 are component. If I had room for an older TV, I'd do it. sadly, I'm low on space:) LOL. in all honesty, with the ratio at 4:3 I think they look pretty darn good:)

  • @L1Games You should see my room. I chose to have an extra, older tv in my room, but the only place to put it was on top of a tall cabinet that my consoles are in. It just about touches the ceiling!

  • @winesti

LOL, if I had thought about it, I would have mounted one of those old school CRT TV mounts on the wall when I was building this room:)

  • have the same tv.

  • I didn't know people were dumb enough to not know how to change change the pictures aspect ratio via the remote, my dog probably knows.

These haters obviously found it particularly hard to find something to moan about, jeez.

I'm like the other guy, black bars drive me mental.

  • @Tmal10 I didnt know you are dumb enough to be persuade that your dog know to set a tv !

  • @yumyum97 speak engrish

  • @Tmal10

I got lots of messages with people asking. some of them were just curious. some were in need of help. the haters were just being jerks. LOL! so I thought I'd go ahead and shoot this:)

  • u got the dead space two limited edition did u just not play the multiplayer since it has online pass

  • @GamerBarney

LOL, I got hold of the box and never even looked to see if the online pass was in there. LOL

  • I'm trying to do something similar for streaming purposes. Only problem is, money ran dry and I need a laptop to continue.

  • 2 dislikers are just jealoius and butthurt because you have a kickass game room. They don't.

  • @THEsquirrel3d

    they brought 3 friends. LOL

  • Nice vid, Muzz! I sometimes like to play my Sega Gen games in 16:9, seeing Sonic run all the way across the 37" screen is cool, hahaha.

  • why wouldn't you hook up the cap card through av out

  • @11orem

    Thats what I did.

I hooked it up through the AV output of the system selector so it can receive signals from all 5 consoles running to it.

  • @L1Games No I mean through the tv's AV out so you could capture all consoles (HD ones) and tv, I know the hd console's quality wont be amazing but something is better than nothing

  • @11orem

I'd like to do that, but my TV doesn't have a video output (unless I somehow missed it.) only audio out.

  • Of course, this only works with consoles with RCA outputs. You'll have to get another capture card for the new gen systems that use digital signals. But of course, you probably know that...

    Looks good though!

  • @demanufacturedmario

yes, this is mainly info for old school consoles and composite capture cards:) thats what I use most in my gameroom and capturing:)

  • @L1Games Old school gaming is the way to go anyways!

  • @demanufacturedmario I used to capture games from newer systems with a standard cap card all the time through composite video and s-video.

  • @TheUnbiasedGamer Out of curiosity, which one do you use?

  • @demanufacturedmario I use the Radioshack Gigaware VHS to DVD converter capture card. I record gameplay with virtualdub. I also have an HD PVR now as well for my newer consoles but i used to use my Gigaware for newer consoles as well.

  • @TheUnbiasedGamer I see now. I play my PS3 and Xbox360 with HDMI cables (so I would need a hdmi capture card) You use component cables for your current gen systems correct?

  • @demanufacturedmario i use component only because of my hd pvr. Every now and then i swap to HDMI because i like the colors better through HDMI but i got the component cables just for my pvr.

  • LapTop + Carpet = Static Electricity = bad

  • I have to stretch my video or else my OCD goes nuts over the black bars on the side :c

  • @Steevsgamingcorner I'm the same way lol. I hate letter boxing.

  • @Steevsgamingcorner

Just pretend the black bars represent the left and right sides of your old school TV:) I know what you mean, but in the end, you'll enjoy the picture quality better in 4:3:)

  • I change the way my aspect ratio is while playing on HDTV's like Muzz showed. It works just fine, I play my NES, SNES, Genesis, TG16 etc. all on my LCD TV at 4:3 and when I play PS3 I either use HDMI or when I want to record something (because I only have a Dazzle) I use Composite to the TV and S-Video to the Dazzle.

  • aww yeah, tardis on the laptop

  • i play snes on a hdtv - its dotty and stuff but i dont mind

  • how much have you spend on the whole set up excluding the consoles of course?

  • @vacamuerta11

building the entire room (shelves/entertainment stand, ETC was between 600 and 800 bucks. Watch the other Building a gameroom videos and I talk prices on a lot of what I do.

  • hey gaymers what's up

  • what capture card are you using?

  • you should listen to the 'haters' .. Old systems on modern displays are muddy because of upscaling, and are alot crisper and the colors are more vibrant on old CRT displays. not to mention you are missing out on scalines and pixel glow !

  • @Paperclown

Why would I listen to anyone who says my setup sucks? they're obviously morons anyway. .

Also, I have 2 devices using HDMI and 2 using Component on this TV. No room for a picture tube TV and I want my setup to look nice. So I'm sticking with the HD.

In the end, the picture quality I get on all my consoles looks great anyway.

  • @gamermuzz: I know you know what I am talking about though, you have that neo geo cab in the store. Those games at native display resolution is a much better experience, the KLOV arcade forum has preached it for years

Even the Wii looks like crap running on those "HD" cables than a old tv

To each his own, but coming from you as you run a retro gaming shop I would expect you to know better. If someone is going to half-ass it using muddy upscaling, they might as well emulate for FREE

  • @Paperclown Your definately right. I don't have the room for a CRT so my collection is packed away and now I emulate at 1080p and PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube look absolutely incredible. Those systems are unplayable upscaled on a 50 inch though.

  • @Paperclown

The Wii using component cables on an HDTV looks significantly better than it does in SD on an older TV. I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's not about "Knowing better" It's about what I choose to do. I don't think the difference is significant enough to junk up my gameroom with an old CRT. or stop playing old school games. (real games > Emulation) Thats all there is to it.

You do your gameroom your way, I'll do mine my way.

Don't like it? Shoot your own videos.

  • @Paperclown You are Retarded that comment is like me going on your channel and commenting how the video you have on it is such a stupid dance cause its off a old tv and on a computer looks shitty.

  • thir- Just kidding great info Muzz! I'm going to be capturing Dreamcast footage through my HD PVR soon so this helps out!

  • hi how do u connect a capturecard or box because i wanna purchase one for about 60 € can i buy a good one? is the dazzle a good one?

  • second

  • First

  • @L1Games I was starting to flip over the "First" comment but then i realized it was you! Lol. That's a good idea! I'm gonna steal it from you. =)
