LMAO! They should have used a yugo :) c'mon... if knight rider was a true story then you would know that they could have used a zo6 corvette instead but they decided to revamp the system and go ford. It could have been a gt40 but both the z06 vette and the gt40 are for ritzy people. Kitt is kind of a rebel and the mustang is perfectly suited for a kid that does not look like walked out of a dolce&gabbana store. Besides... the new camaro is not due yet and waaaaaay too expensive to replicate one.

It was Michael Bay's choice to use the Camaro Concept in transformers. Not GM's. And it worked perfectly.

Since the TA isn't around any more... I do say the Cobra is a good choice for Knight Rider. It looks sweet and will work great for the part.

On a side note... It will be interesting to see if the Camaro continues the trend to have more Horsepower (or the same) than the Mustang for at least the 25th production year of both cars in a row :-)

I can't think of any modern Pontiac cars that could have pulled this off, and I'm a huge fan of the Mustang, but I think a completely different car would do better. Something like the Mercedes SLR McLaren. It's got that futuristic look at KITT needs, plus it uses airbrakes just like the original KITT did. Just give it a black paint job and a hood scoop for the sensor array and you've got it.

The version Jalopnik has, while higher quality - is not the final version. You can tell cause the end titles are not in the Knight Rider treatment they used for the previous 15 second commercial, but rather a bland generic animation. From what we've heard on our site, this isn't Will Arnett's voice, but rather a standin for a quick turn around.

No I'm not kidding. Daniels made KITT sound like a pansy. I always liked the sinister twinge in KARR's voice especially when Frees voiced it in his second appearance. I'm liking Arnett's voice. The allocution is proper but it has that subtle sinister twinge which gives it some gravitas the likes of which Daniels never captured.

Hmmm...the new KITT's attitude is growing on me. I do agree that the Mustang was a less than favourable choice, but we also have to look at it from the perspective on what was the most ideal car to use. And the Mustang is it. I like the Mustang, I am a fan of it, but I think it's gonna be one of those situations where it will grow on you, gradually. Unlike the '82 Trans Am, which took no time to accept.
