the saddest thing about this movie, that the writer, arthur london stayed communist to his last days and the confession was written because moscow wanted so.

indeed,they are.its the Slánský trial 1952(its on wiki), biggest show trial in the czechoslovak stalinist era. same pattern as the the trial of Moscow in 30s. its was hunt on enemy inside communist party, Slansky was general secretary of party. Most of convicted were jews.

@manteca33149 Yes, I have this movie dubbed in english. Forgot where I got it but it's one of my all time favorites; I have many movies with Soviet themes. Cheers!
