  • This guy may be related to me,

  • messier fucked bure

  • @MentalEminence Right after he fucked Hextall, Hunter, and Broedur right up the ass to get their baby.....FUCK YOU!

  • been a long time since I posted this. Lets get this to 100k before the winter classic.

  • hmm

  • I like Messier and respect his hall of fame career. he was a virus in the vancouver dressing room sadly as it is common knowledge now, taking Linden's number and also Linden taking it with pure class as is the way he played and lives. Having said all that, the "we'll win tonight" and then getting a 3rd period hat trick is just epic.

  • @Reinpret - sorry i didn't mean linden's number i mean't his captancy, and then taking number 11 from a former player who had died and no one wore it because of that, Messier just didnt care and wore it anyway.

  • messier is the SHIT!

  • A lot of people don't know but Messier only scored one goal in his first season of the NHL

  • @xmike2007x ur comment makes no sense...he hit trevor linden without him having the cup in 94? well put..u must be dumb!

  • @antisoul82 messiers a bitch

  • @yungdrug1996 ehhh don't be salty cause he didn't do much for ya...but ur a vancouver fan...u handle losses with typical class

  • I'm guessing Messier did a lot more than be a key scorer in the '84 playoffs, because i don't see how he won the conn smythe trophy over Gretzky. Messier had 26 points while gretzky had 35. I know points isn't everything in a playoff season, but thats why I'm asking. He must have stepped up in something other than the scoring department to win praise over gretzky's performance. Any 80's Oilers fans or hockey historians out there that can help me out?

  • @Gphazor The thing is sure Messier won the MVP of the playoffs in 84. But in those years im telling you It was all about Gretz he had 4 200 point seasons 48 points in a playoffs and 43 respectively, both wins. Also won 3 canada cup golds. As for Messier captianing 2 teams yes he did that, the only player to do so but the year before 94. Gretz carried L.A to the finals with 40 points (MVP). Had they of not met a hot team like the Habs and Roy in net he would be the greatest player/leader.

  • @Gphazor yes in the 84 finals he gave a physical presence, running over islander players at will. also scored a key goal midway thru pivotal game 3 to tie the score 2-2. the oiler land slide then began with 5 more goals, and then easily won the next 2 gamse. that messier goal clearly broke the Islanders back and goalie Billy Smith completely lost confidence. most hockey experts at the time consider that to be turning point in the entire series which ended the islander dynasty.

  • How could some poeple say hes the greatest captain ever when from 1997-2004 he captained those Rangers and Canucks team to zero playoff apperances. As for the that Ranger win in 94 1/3 of the team used to play for the Oilers.Anderson,Lowe,Messier,Mc tavish,Graves,Buekeboom and Tikkanen. Also Richter played a hell of a playoffs and leetch won the Con Smythe. He always was the back bone for the Rangers, the last defenceman to record or 100 points in a season.

  • @boskey10 You can have all the talent in the world and not win shit..........You need a leader. And you only need it for one moment. One season. One game. The pressure of not winning a cup in 54 years for the Rangers was un-real. It took a proven championship leader like Mess to win it. After that Im sure for him his fire was put out. Can't blame him for 97-04.

  • @SuperThunderlips What are you talking about those players i named had huge roles to play in the Ranger win not to mention a few more it wasnt just Messier at those moments.Another knock on him was that he didnt know when to hang them up he stayed around to long and for what? all for the money of course he was washed up by 1998!!. This guy never won a art ross trophy and scored 50 goals once in 25 season's.Sure he played hard the best captian ever not in my eyes how about Yzerman or Beliveau.

  • @boskey10 For an example look at the San Jose Sharks.........there are teams that are loaded every year that don't win anything. Most of the time its because they don't have a leader. If you want to deny or minimize Mess's leadership, then I don't think you ever had the priviledge of watchig him play. Your probably an Islander fan.

  • @SuperThunderlips What about the San Jose sharks just because the so called experts on t.v and the newspaper project them to do well before the season starts doesnt mean there going to do well. They dont even consider injuires that could happen through out the year.Besides San Jose hasnt even been to a cup final, ever. Also im not Islander fan Im a Habs fan and dont worry we know hockey. He wasnt as great as people think thats all, he was at the right place at the right time for most of his career.

  • @boskey10 LOL...should have known I was dealing with an "Arrogant", "Don't worry I know hockey because I am a Montreal Canadien fan"..... Tsk Tsk Tsk.....

  • @SuperThunderlips Well you assumed i was a islander fan what gives? lol.Anyways my point's that i've have made you cant deny that im wrong. So i gave my opinion and some fast facts about him thats all, facts that people dont consider when claiming him to be "The greatest captian ever".

  • @boskey10 It's all good....Am I biased? Yes. If you are not a Ranger fan...then you can't appreciate what he did for the Rangers. The amount of pressure that the Rangers were under was "unbelievable", the thought at that time was if they can't do it now, it will never happen. To lose again with a superior team, and against the Devils!!! When he said "we will win" and then put up a hat trick...that cemented him as a hockey legend. And then to bring the cup. Only captain 2 different SC's.

  • @SuperThunderlips Well the thing is I do appreciate what he did but to tell you the truth Im from edmonton and those glory years in the 80's was unmatched by any team.Well the islanders where pretty elite to at that time but i cant say your wrong with your points but there is always to sides of a story.

  • the nucks should of won the cup...... #@$% the rangers

  • Best Vancouver Canuck of all time

  • the only thing i like about the rangers is messier

  • messier lov ya man only thing you did wrong i put on a canuck jersey

  • anyone know the song its sooo good

  • @xmike2007x Mark Messier is a hero for denying the Canucks a stanley cup.

The world needs more Mark Messiers.

  • I used to tell people he was my uncle in middle school hahaha

  • I really did not see Messier once he got to the Rangers. I did watch him intently with the Oil. One nice NYC commenter said that Mess was a "little dirty" and mentioned an Islanders' player who was worse. That is an odd thing. When 'your guy' is dirty, it works. When the other guy gets uppity, its a penalty. Frankly, I think Mark Messier was one of the greatest hockey players to lace up.

  • I don't like Messier but I've got to admit that Homosexual sure was fast.

  • this girl i was talking to thinks that crosby is a superstar and thinks messier is a cry baby, alot of women dunno shit about hockey

  • HE IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!

    OMG W00T

  • Canucks Cancer.

  • This guy was as close to you could be in modern hockey to Gordie Howe. All the same attributes. Score like a crazy man. Elbows flying everywhere, and then a fight, at the drop of a hat. A complete player. A very very good player. Top 5.

  • I love this guy cause he was a great player, & he helped deliver a Cup to my hometown of New York. It's one of the happiest moments of my life. But, and I don't mean this in a totally complimentary way; he was a dirty player at times. If you look at Bryan Trottier of the Islanders, he dished out hits that were bruising and punishing, and he scored 100 points a year, player the PP, killed penalties, and won a Conn Smythe. Trots instilled the same fear without being nearly as dirty.

  • Greatest captain in sports

  • at 1:47 - look at all of those 1994 N.Y. OILERS surrounding Messier.

  • and when u did beat us in 06 u lost to carolina anyway, & we beat u in the greatest playoff series ever, but all in all I give the devs much respect, great GM , Great Goalie & all in all a blueprint on how to build from within which the rags r clueless about

  • FYI: The Devils are 1-4 against the rangers in the playoffs, so thats why u must be so happy when we suck it up and dont make it because we wind up kicking ure arsses !

  • @ghytgb we own you when it comes to the playoffs, tell marty wrap around right, twice

  • @chefrah54 - the 1992 - 1994 and 1997 OILERS got us in the playoffs. the same way the OILERS dominated in the 80s. if the fans have anything to do with a teams success than the N.J. Devils have the best East Coast fans over the past 25 yrs. check the stats! no East Coast team has accomplished more! 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • Question: How many 1990s Dynasty Oiler members and 1992 Cup Final Blackhawk members did it take to win the Cup for N.Y. in 1994? Answer: 14! - that is the equivalant of 2 coaches -2 forward lines and 3 defensive pairings. Now add Richter - Leetch - Kovelev - Zubov - Nemchinov - Kyprios and Karpotsov and you have your 1994 N.Y. OILERS / HAWKS TEAM!

  • The NHL really bungled up with the 1991-92 Hart Trophy. Ridiculous to give it to Messier.

  • @RedPhroggz mess was flying high on his oiler teammates coat tails. Messier = great player while surrounded by OILER teammates - Messier = great golfer when not surrounded by OILER teammates. 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • That is the best Top 10 they could come up with? You can take absolutly any player from the league and show them scoring 10 goals. That was really pathetic!

  • Messier = Great player while playing on a great Oilers team. Messier = Great Golfer after playing with that great Oilers team! -- Great teams make great players - Great players don't make great teams!

  • @ghytgb Right? You do realize that without all the great player on the Oilers have sucked since? Gretzky is why the team got great, The LA Kings made the finals one time, guess who was captian, the Great One. If the Oilers ever get great again it will be because of great players.

  • They shoulda made it top 11 just for him.

  • @duolcoiram - he missed the playoff 5 out of 10 years as a ranger and 3 out of 3 years as a canuck! messier with a great team like edmonton = great player / messier not on that great oiler team = great golfer!

  • @ghytgb Rangers are 5th in the East right now (just saying) and the devils are 29th in the NHL (also just saying) and your a fucking idiot the Captain a won a STANLEY CUP with the Rangers

  • @TheOnlyNLMD - It doesn't matter how you start - it's all about how you finish and missing the playoffs 8 times over the past 12 seasons totally blows! imagine winning 1 cup over a 70 year period! -- you don't get a thing for being in 5th place in December you retard!

  • @ghytgb All you need is one cup............what a fucking jerkoff1

  • @ghytgb the only player in NHL history to captain to different teams to a stanley cup.

  • @ghytgb Must be one hell of a golfer to have reached the #2 in all time scoring list and to have made the hockey hall of fame.

Gretzky in a great team like edmonton = great player / Gretzky not on that great oiler team = great golfer! Right?

  • imagine being messier. no team in the league wanted him after he led the canucks out of the p-offs 3 straight yrs. N.Y. brings him back after they felt he was washed up and he proved he was washed up by leading the rangers out of the p-offs in his last 3 yrs in N.Y. - instead of bowing out gracfully he hung around 7 yrs to long to set personal records. if that's not selfish i don't know what is. he was a great player when playing on a great oiler team and a great golfer when playing in N.Y.

  • @ghytgb There is absolutely no shame in playing the game you love for as long as you can. No one should be talking about bowing out gracefully or padding stats. This is a mans life were talking about here. He's only going to get one chance to play, because once it's over, it's over. Is Chelios up to your high standards of BS? NO, he likes to play, so he sould play.

  • @Din0might7 Chelios blows! If you were a Coach would you be stupid enough to have him on your team? How'd that Claude Lemieux comeback go? Not so good huh! i wonder why? hmmmmmmm! do your team a big favor Messier and get lost! the rangers seemed to have gotten to the playoffs since he limped off the ice! i wonder why? hmmmmmmmmm!

  • @ghytgb As an Oiler fan I would bring him in for one year. Anything to help us get another # 1 pick. By the way if there are any taker out there we really need to get rid of Horcoff, so a trade would be nice. Of course these guys suck, thier past there prime, your telling us nothing new, but as long as they find work it is thier choice. By the way Chelios and Messier are both Hall of famers, One present one future so why bust on them?

  • because they played for themselves-not for the team! mess hurt his team by skating around like an old man his last 8 seasons leading them to the golf course 7 times. As if the NHL is the only place that a washed up player can play! I guess you have no problem with Gordie Howe stepping on the ice for 5 seconds with a pro team so he can say he played in another decade. Ohhh, it's Gordie Howe! Can't say anything negative about him! He's Mr. Hockey you know!

  • @ghytgb Rangers went to the golf course early this year too(with or without Messier those teams sucked). Looking back it people that are not bitter will only remember Messier as the guy that brought the cup back to New York. Get over yourself, Gordie Howe played 5 seconds because an intire organization allowed it to happen. They decided to honor him, I could care less.

  • @Din0might7 but if Messier was the great Messiah than why did he lead the Rangers to the golf course 5 times? Why did he miss the p-offs 3 times as a Canuck? Why did Messier never miss the playoffs as an Oiler? Why did he never win the King Clancy award for leadership? Why did the Rangers make the p-offs right after "the Messiah" left? Messier when surrounded by Oiler players = great player - Messier not surrounded by Oilers players = great golfer! -- 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • @ghytgb Dude your a broken record, you say the same s#!t everytime. Ask Geoff Courtnall if it was an automatic that you were going to have awesome production as an 80's Oiler. His numbers went way down. Allot of players played on that team, 5 maybe 6 guys are hall of famers. From the cup winning rangers 3 maybe 4 HOF players on that team, and Messier was one of them, on each team. King Clancy award? Who gives a rats ass when you're a x 2 Hart winner (MVP). Most Valuable Player.

  • @Din0might7 i just got off the phone with Geoff. he thinks you whine a lot and he agrees with me 100%. Question: How many members from the 5 Cup Dynasty Oilers and the 1992 Cup Final Hawks team does it take to win a cup for N.Y. in 1994? Answer: 14 -- Messier was not a great player as a ranger. he led them to the golf course 5 out of the 10 yrs he spent in N.Y. -- you actually looked up Geoff Courtnalls stats to make a really weak point! ahhhhh haaaaa haaaaa haaaaa! --- 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • @ghytgb No I didn't look up Geoff Courtnall's stats, any real hockey fan would know that without looking them up. To bad I made you look. I find it ironic that a guy that brings up the King Clancy Award for who gives a shit and goes on harping about how bad Messier was years after retirement is trying to call me a whiner. Not to mention you bitched about Howe, what kind of a pussy bitches about Howe?

  • why would i look up geoff cournalls stats? the King Clancy award is given out for leadership. don't ranger fans believe that "The Messiah" is the greatest leader ever? how ironic! keep twisting what i said as if i bitched about howe. do you believe that asking about howe stepping on the ice for 5 secs is bitching? i can easily say you're bitching about the king clancy award. trash talking is part of hockey! stop acting like a little girl! 1994 LETS GO OILERS! 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • @ghytgb You forgot to mention the thing about the golf course, I almost didn't realize who this message was from. By the way you were bitching about Howe, and Messier, and so on, and I'm sure that the guy that wins the King Clancy Award is the best player that year. You have your helmet strapped on to tight, were not playing hockey. I don't know what Rangers fans believe? Why would anybody care? I maybe a little girl, but you da bitch.

  • Saying Howe stepped onto the ice for 5 seconds isn't bitching. The King Clancy award is given out to the player that shows leadership on and off the ice. So why would my helmet be strapped on to tight? You threw that in there with nothing to back it up. I can say you could have used a helmet when you rode the bus to school and back it up. You used the word were when you should have used we're. You used the word maybe when you should have used may be and you put a comma after the word helmet.

  • @ghytgb Thanks for all the grammar corrections. This was the highlight of my day, you must be a rockstar at parties? You said "trash talking is part of hockey!" but were...we're not playing hockey, so WTF are you smoking? Got some kind of hard-on for that King Clancy Award Hey? All hockey players only dream they could win one of them. I dare you to reply with mentioning the King Clancy or the golf course.

  • @Din0might7 looks like the hole you dug is big enough for you to fall right into. you've got zero to say after looking up what the King Clancy award means! you seem to have a hard on for that golf course huh. i guess mentioning something twice gives you a hard on eh fer sure eh. no need for me to abuse you anymore today. you can as always do that on your own. later kid!

  • @ghytgb Once again you bring nothing new to the table. So I will close with what we already know. Messier=6 time Stanley Cup winner, 2x Hart winner, The only player two Captian 2 teams to the cup. 2nd alltime points, 7th in goals, 2nd games played, 3rd points. Messier is a legend. If the Rangers never traded Gartner for Anderson, Weight for Tikkanen & Amonte for Matteau & Noonan they would have won more cups dummy. Old Oilers & Hawks = early rebuild.

  • 2nd in gms played says it all. he hung around 8 years too long so he could rack up personal stats not to lead his team to the playoffs. messier wasn't a great player. he was a player surrounded by a great team. Besides the 1994 N.Y. team ( that Mess and 7 other ex OILER team mates were on ) what did any oiler player do after they left edmonton? ZERO! you fit right into N.Y.! I guess Claude Lemieux is better than Mess because he won cups with 3 diff teams! NEXT! and bring something to the table!

  • @ghytgb Last time I talk to you. All you do is repeat what I say, or what you have already said. Something new to the table, were did you get that from? The point I made about NY up and coming talent in 94, was new. You have no respect for the players that played the game, which means you don't respect the game, and I have no desire to talk hockey with someone that doesn't respect it. Good bye posser.

  • @Din0might7 - man i am laughing my ass off at how dumb you just made yourself look AGAIN! AHHHH HAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAA! I schooled you on hockey and all you could come up with was insults. what happened? did the cat get your tongue? i'll give you another week to respond the way it took you a whole week to respond to my last comment. this time i'm gonna believe you won't try to change the subject again. come on little kid, you can do it! -- 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • @Din0might7 ohhhh nooooo i can't talk to you anymore! nooooooooo! nooooooooo! 1994 LETS GO OILERS! Question: How many 1990s Dynasty Oiler members and 1992 Cup Final Blackhawk members did it take to win the Cup for N.Y. in 1994?

  • @ghytgb What fun is a question if you're going to answer it for me?

  • @Din0might7 you never asked a question and i was just giving my opinion. try again!

  • @Din0might7 -- seems like someone's got nothing better to do than to send comments to guys at 3am! LOSER!

  • @ilmtf i don't see where anyone said richter was a hawk and where you got canucks from is beyond me! richter was a goalie on the N.Y. OILERS 1994 team that needed to be bailed out all season long by Glenn Healy. ---- 8 OILERS - 6 HAWKS - 4 RUSSIANS - LEETCH - KYPRIOUS and RICHTER and there you have your 1994 N.Y. OILERS / HAWKS TEAM! -- 1994 LETS GO OILERS - 1994 LETS GO OILERS - 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • @ilmtf nice!!

  • @Din0might7 -- Oh you're the guy that just repeats himself by saying i have nothing to say. you keep on putting your foot in your mouth every time you comment. you basically agreed with me and you're so stupid you don't even know it! you said you had no problem answering my question but it's been two weeks and all you can come up with is "you bring nothing to the table" when i schooled you a long time ago! i saw how the rangers were gonna win the cup before and after the 1994 N.Y. OILERS! NEXT!

  • @ghytgb Did Courtnall mention that he and Ronning both were brought in from St. Louis to the Canucks? Graves was a f'n 4th liner in Edmonton. I'm sorry he scored 50+ goals for the Rangers in 94'.Zubov was the leading scorer + Leetch won the Conn Smythe yet you would rather turn my focus on Noonan + Mactavish b cuz they played else where?I know u enjoyed watching Kovalev have his best post season ever in 94' right? U give no credit to Richter? Interesting. He was phenominal. That PS save on Bure!

  • @6tbonemmvn77 -- and all of this was accomplished with 8 oilers and 6 hawks on the 1994 reunited oilers team. Question: what did any ranger do before or after 1994? And now let's play the theme song from Jepordy!

  • Well, Brian Leetch won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the year in 88-89, & the Norris Trophy in in 91-92 and 96-97. Leetch also scored more than 100 points in 91-92. Sergei Zubov has been a solid defenseman for years. Richter was a great goalie before and after 93-94. Nemchinov scored 30 goals twice with the Rangers, & was solid till the late 90's. Your point about the Rangers benefitting greatly from Edmonton & Chicago is valid, but in my eyes it does nothing to diminish the accomplishment.

  • @dzanier - So you're admitting that there's not much going on before or after 1994! about 50% of the players in the league have accomplished what you just creamed your panties about. 3 out of the 4 players that you just mentioned were so great the rangers showed their respect to them by trading them! 8 oilers and 7 hawks = 2 coaches - 3 offensive lines and 2 defensive lines! now add 6 more players and you've got THE 1994 N.Y. OILERS / HAWKS! -- N.Y. ACCOMPLISHED JACK SHIT! --- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • @ghytgb New Jersey is our fucking toilet. Meanwhile, the loser Devils can't even afford to ice a full lineup this year....LOL.

Just pack it in & move to Hamilton, B listers.

  • @NewYorkRangersIn08 - the garden is every bum in new yorks toilet! it totallt smells like piss!

  • @ghytgbdevils are 29th in the NHL

  • @NewYorkRangersIn08 tell em ghytgb's a jackass

  • its funny because everyone says "Lemieux!!, Gretzky!!, Messier!!, Crosby!!, Ovechkin!!" is the best player etc.

  • Best hockey player in them days. He would shoot pass and fight. not like the OKAY ONE#99

  • Messier is the best hockey player ever, yes, better than wayne, he won 2 more cups without wayne, and he is the first player to captain TWO DIFFERENT TEAMS to the stanley cup. THAT SAYS IT ALL !

  • #99 has the record for almost everything. 2000 points, how many stanley cups, mvps, scoring titles, 50 goals in 39 games, etc...

When you think the greatest player in the game, #99 is the top guy

  • @azbaldy5 i like messier, but your over reacting.....

  • How 'bout Messier Top 10 Cheap Shot Elbow.

  • Messier was WHITE???!!!

  • Messier had hair?

  • Hi guys,..blackhawks fan 40 yrs here,..wardnikoff, good opinion on those guys,.not quite agree but respect em. What i always dug about messier was his toughness, endurance, leadership, and the ability to 'take over'. They can talk gretsky all they want, but i got 'sold' on messier back in 84, when he finally beat another fav team,..the Isles, and again when he took over against my blackhawks and lead Oilers to cup without gretsky. Truly underrated until then,.i'll take a line of messiers anyday.

  • MESS COULD DO IT ALL EVEN FIGHT

  • Hell yes. Here's a 28y old guy, who's been a Messier fan for 21 years. People always tend to forget how dominating Moose was. He didn't need any goons to protect him, he was tough as nails, played power play, short handed.. Anything the team needed to win, Mark did.. And then some :) 1994 forever.

  • He should be considered one of the greatest for so many reasons... Gordie was the toughest, Orr the most dominant, Gretz the greatest scorer and Lemieux the greatest ability and Mess the greatest leader...

  • ALL HAIL MOOSE. greatest player who ever lived, devestatin hits, leadership700 goals, and on and on and on and on and on

  • Ya he was a good player, but what he did to Linden in the 94 playoffs was fuckin garbage will always hate the guy forever BUM

  • Comment removed

  • Gretzky may have been anointed as the greatest hockey player ever, but if I'm a GM and I want to win the cup I'll take Messier any day over Wayne. Gretzky is the greatest scorer of all time, but he is one dimensional. Messier could do it all and he was a leader. Messier won two more cups without Gretzky, Wayne didn't win another after he left Messier and the Oilers.

  • they are both good either way..both were on the rangers the longest and retired ass rangers

  • Totally loved the "if i wanna win the cup, i'd pick Mark" part :) Agree on that dude, he knew what it took to win the cup.

  • 2 35 is kovalev in montreal canadian

  • he is my uncle i sware to god im madison messier

  • He is back!

  • Messier is my all time favorite player, the complete package.

  • I am a canucks fan I don't know how to react to messier he was a great player but he beat the canucks in 94 and he played real shitty when he played with the canucks

  • also in 94 when Linden was crawling to the bench because he was hurt messier hurted him while he was crawling on purpose

  • Shoulda been top 11 moments. Cuz he's #11.

  • What the FUCK is wrong with the?

  • anyone know the song its awsomeee

  • @ 2:41 the headline before "the guarantee".

  • The man is a living legend the only thing I could add is he won '84 Conn Smythe in the Oilers first of five cups after showing Gretz and the others how to put away the Islanders, just awesome in full flight

  • @Blackacheese - messier was a great player with the oilers / great golfer without the oilers!

  • @ghytgb Except he won another cup without the Oilers. What did Gretzky do? Jack shit.

  • i would have to say either wayne gretzky or mark messier are the greatest hockey players of all time. and their both canadians!! Canada represent yall!!

  • what about mario lemiux? i kno i spelled his last name rong >>

  • Messier OWNS Mario... He couldn't even tie Mark's skates.

  • no one can touch his skates gretsky may have most points but he was a bitch as so is crosby

  • really ? how so?

  • Yr either blind, or crazy

but yes, Mess could get it done...

  • harryknucles mad cause our Messier 0wned his pitiful Devils lol!

  • I would recount history a bit if I were you. Making ridiculous comments such as Mess being the worst captain ever. . .? Only captain ever to win a Stanley Cup for two different teams. Won without Gretz on his side and Gretzky never won without Messier. The Guarantee might possibly be the greatest sports prediction ever. He said they'd win and scored a third period trick himself. Brought the Cup to New York, second in scoring all time only behind Gretzky. . . Would you like me to continue. . .?

WHENS THE LAST TIME YOU SAID YOUD WIN A PLAYOFF GAME AND SCORE A HATRICK HUH?. your prob some fuckin islander or habs fan anyways. FUCK YOU

  • you should shut your face and die, Messier is one of the greatest players ...

  • so many great, clutch moments. scored in his return as a canuck, scored the 3rd period hat trick to back up his guarantee, scored #500 in his classic streaking down the wing shoot off the wrong-foot style which also completed a hat trick, scored twice to tie and pass gordie howe in points, scored in his last game, and most importantly scored the cup-clinching goal in game 7.

  • i love how he scored in his last game...great end to a great career

  • music gives me chills

  • messier carries a team. ignoring statistics lemiuex and messier were better then gretzky

  • Nah. He's good but saying they're better than Gretzky is over exaggerating.

  • How can u say that? Mark Messier is one of the greatest ever and is a good guy too. What did he ever do to u?

  • underrated post imo

    Mainboard ftmfw imo iyam

  • Lol @ all the comments on this page.

  • the video says it all,no use arguing with you faggots

  • Just ignore burfoot. Just another butt hurt canadian.

  • Suck my fucking asshole.

    I'm canadian. I fucking love Messier w00t

  • messier won a cup in New York and 54 years..the face he couldnt win on that vancouver loaded team..the greatest captain in sports..just mean they will never win the cup..as u can see even with the best goalie in the world they barley make the playoffs..vancouver is a hcokey graveyard

  • man the oilers were good they had messier gretzky and kurri

  • and anderson and coffey and semenko (tough bitch in the 80's)

  • The 1988 Oilers were the best team EVER.

Only lost 2 playoff games, swept the "favoured" Flames, all the players in their prime.

Too bad Gretzky had to go that summer. They were good for at least 4 more cups.

  • the cunucks were ruined alredy

  • what are u talking about? the canucks were loaded with amazing players at the time.. messier ruined there chemistry tho cuz no one on vancouver liked him

  • @seanaverypwns - as if messier alone could change the Canucks or the Rangers! Question: How many OILERS and HAWKS players did it take to win the cup for N.Y. in 1994? Answer:14 --- Messier surrounded by OILER and HAWK players = great player! - Messier surrounded by N.Y. Ranger players = great golfer! ---- 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • Seriously, Messier worked his ass of trying to get the Canuks into shape that didn't happen because no one in Vancouver placed their faith in him unlike with the Rangers where he had Leetch, Graves and others as lieutenants who worked with Mess not against him.

  • Wah wah wah..you're a dick. Greatest leader in the NHL ever.

  • Where did you get that homo thing from? Check out this from Wikipedia:

Messier's son Lyon, who was born on August 16, 1987 is developing into a solid young hockey player and is currently a defenceman for the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League. Lyon's mother is former model Lesley Young. His current girlfriend and soon to-be wife, Kim Clark, gave birth to Mark's second son, Douglas Paul, on July 15, 2003, and daughter Jacqueline Jean in August, 2005.

  • I really admire his captaincy achievements with the Canucks, you know, no playoff appearances and disrespecting the unofficial retirement of a deceased player's number

  • Mark Messier's career highlights:

-Prevented the Canucks from winning the Stanley Cup in 1994.

-Prevented the Canucks from winning the Stanley Cup from 1997-2000.
