Pioneers? I don't know about that. This was pretty standard formula-metal fare, and I know because I was in a lot of bands making music similar to this back then.(obviously no good ones, or I'd have videos on YouTube as well. Lol). They were okay, but bands like Diamond Head, Iron Maiden, Grim Reaper, and Saxon were the pioneers. These guys were okay. I wouldn't go call them pioneers personally because they were pretty typical back then. No hate, but it's just my opinion.

@SkullydogXXX The bands you are refferering are more NWOBHM(New Wave OF British Heavy Metal) mate.Crimson Glory were closer to the american style epic/power metal genre.Yes they were pioneers to their style back in the day....their first album is one of the best power metal albums ever made plus they had one of the very best and unique singers in the history of metal...nothing typical and generic about it.It all comes down to what you like...

They weren't given the credit they deserved when the first album came out and not much changed after the second came out, in spite of some critical acclaim from certain media. All that has changed over the years and now they are recognised as pioneers. This song may be typical metal fare (albeit with outstanding vocals) but what do you think of In Dark Places, Burning Bridges, Painted Skies, Lost Reflection, Valhalla, Dragon Lady etc?

@lakmal91 woahhh dude obviously you dont know wtf your talking about. These guys were in a leaugue of their own and sound NOTHING like Judas Priest, if anything they sounded closer to Queensryche. And no talent?? They were highly talented with complex song structure and harmonies, way more complex than Judas Priest's simple ass writing, plus their lead guitarist Jon Drenning was a fucking awesome guitarist highly underated, as so is this band. Plus Midnight IMO was the greatest singer in metal

@Headbanger9000 at least you know the reasons you like them. for me, complex structure isn't any better, and yes, he's a good guitarist, but he's not doing anything we haven't heard before. ability wise, midnight is fantastic, but i have a hard time listening to songs about dragons. i just don't think they're anything special.

@Headbanger9000 not sure how old you are but that may be part of the issue....lots of power metal bands out there now.... but back in 1988 these guys led the race..miles ahead in producing THAT sound for that time. You may be used to it NOW because youve heard so many copycats in this generation. CRIMSON GLORY WERE PIONEERS creating the sound stage for today's power metal bands period!( queensryche too!) my opinion only!
