  • 1:56 Do a barrel roll!

  • &THE BBC HAVE YET AGAIN RESORTED TO SLOWIN DOWN AN ANIMAL SO THEY CAN BE CAUGHT, SHAME ON YOU BBC,LIKE HOW IT WAS SHAMEFUL U WATCHIN A PRIDE OF LIONS TORMENT A GROUP OF ELEPHANTS FOR HRS SO 2GET THEIR CALF. ELEPHANTS NEED OUR HELP &PROTECTION CAUSE WE NEARLY WIPED THEM OFF THE PLANET, FOOK U BBC, I WILL NEVER PAY FOR YOURE CORRUPTED SERVICES FORCE FED TO US ALL IN THE UK, I DONT HAVE A TV LICENCE AND I WILL NEVER BUY ONE

  • @magnusalexa Lions also need our "protection", as we've almost led them to extinction too. Lions gotta eat, and whether there are cameras there or not, they will eat. That's nature, the circle of life, survival of the fittest. Call it what you will, but it's real.

If you don't have the stomach for true nature, then I suggest you don't watch documentaries like this. Also, the pigeon got away, so it can't have been greatly slowed down, if at all, by the "CORRUPTED" BBC's camera.

  • 1:55 Top Gun

  • Wow!

  • GoPro Bird Cam lol

  • NOO FLYING RAT WINS!!!

  • I am trying to find a camera set up for my racing pigeons. Anyone know of any online companies that sell them?? Thanks!!!!!!!!

  • @dougdog82 There's a guy (newpigeonguy I think..) that shows you how to make the cameras. Hope this helps. P.S. - I'm gonna make one for my pigeons/doves too :D

  • @ igarcol , i would but wat happens if my crossbreaded lanner/peregrine falcon kills your pigeon ??

  • hey, is there anyone that owns a halk in ireland, dublin area. who would be interested in puting it up against one of my racing pigeons, i was thinking of doing this at the curragh. mail me if interested. thanks

  • For some reason I couldn't stop laughing with the camera on the pigeon's back XD LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • Speed race: turtle vs snail

  • flapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflap woo hoo I got away!

  • I saw a falcon chase a wounded turkey once. The falcon went into a full dive. The turkey dodged, dubled back and gobbled up the falcon.

  • A pigeon is very fast in level flight and peregrines dont do well catching them like this but i have seen they use wind currents between buildings, big grain silos etc. to get an advantage. Kings of old respected and protected Peregrines

  • birds flap like theres no tomorow

  • DAMN IT, well the falcon will get another one later, i hate pigeons, annoying birds

  • it feels good to be a human. we can simply jus go to the grocery store LOL

  • Lucky Pigeon!

  • if it would keep the shot from its back it would be good, not switching

  • i like how we know so much about animals...yet they are probably like "wtf is this fucking thing feeding me bird seed?"

  • racing pigeons rules!

  • pigeon at end "fuck yeah bitcheszzzzz!!"

  • those are homing pigeons, not domestic pigeons.

  • Must be annoying being a peregrine, or any bird of prey really. I don't know what their hunting success rate is but I'm willing to bet it's not very high. You can see this video as 'puny pigeon beats mighty falcon' if you like, but I'd prefer to think that the peregrine went off and successfully hunted its dinner and did not starve. Because they are amazing birds. :)

  • would think camera would slow it down on turning and flying

  • love the pigeon cam. that bird was truly crapping itself.

  • boom

  • as Jimbo stated before me, nor have I ever cheered for those birds so much as I have watching this video.

  • Never before have I cheered on a useless pigeon as much as I did here.

  • @JimboJ1981 Useless pigeon??? Brush up on some history & see how they used the pigeon in the war & how it saved many American lives...

  • @JimboJ1981

    You are the useless one.

  • lol the pigeon's funny

  • Pigeons are cute.

  • its always best to be a city pidgeon

  • GO VALIANT GO

  • @Manarex5

Theyre doing it for entertainment, not science and the BBC is the British Broadcasting Corporation, so none of your dollars went in to the production of this show in the first place.

  • @Manarex5 well it won, so apparently everything's not quite as stupidly obvious as you make out.

I found it interesting, and they made it because many will.

  • pigeon should have just hided in the bushes.

  • that pigeon must have been talking so much shit to its buddies that night hahaha he was like " i beat a falcon....with a camera on my back BITCH

  • @prijedor11 LMAOO!!!! can u imagine that?

  • 1:02 jizzed in my pants.

  • @Chuito66 JIZZED. IN. YOUR PANTS

  • 1:43 I would have added a sonic boom to this shot ;)

  • when he gets older he will learn the falcon punch ... pigeon will be like ... "Fu...*a splater of blod*" !

  • Jink! Jink!!!

  • pigeon lost 7.68 hp with the freak'n cam on it's back...hahaha

  • Raise yo' game bitch.

  • peregrine falcon is the fastest living thing when it comes to freefalling. that falcon might not be hungry that time or he just love disturbing other weak birds.

  • @rolandroiroi Yes, in freefalling, but not in ordinary horizontal flight. Many birds outspeed peregrines, among others pigeons.

  • @wieslawl59 you're right. i love their styles.

  • @RobeyMc

    LOL that's perfect.

  • you gotta go back the the gym and train more FALCON!!!

  • I know the pigeon is thinking...."Why is this Pigeon Following me..And Why is this Camera lying on my Head?!".....

  • RAISE YO GAME HOMIE

  • *fap* fap*fap*.......

  • racing pigeons can outstand falcon anytime anywhere. yes, the falcon has the greatest speed and great agility, but the racing pigeons has much more reflex in the sky and greater agility than falcon, so basically pigeon has greater evasion than any free-flying bird except owls

  • accipiter hawks can fly through dense forrest at high speed-neither pigeon nor owl can do that....

  • thanks ;] new info

  • Owls do fly in dense forrests, and they have a leading edge because they do it at night time. Of course, not at the same speed like the hawk, but hey, they fly in the dark.

  • Wonderful film-making. Thanks!

  • Anyone else here imagined hearing Wagner when the Falcon started it's hunt and the pigeon goes all panicky flapping it's wings? :p

Awesome vid! Thanks for the upload.

  • If people knew Racing Pigeons were the fastest flying birds they would get more respect. Racing Pigeons saved mores lives during the world wars than any other animal. If you love your freedom thank a pigeon! We may call on them again.

  • When the falcon dives on the pigeon the pigeon flys full throttle in to that tree to get away risking injury or death from the crash into the trees or bushes. Thats there only choice for them not to become falcons lunch. This is why we see our race birds come home all busted up. I never seen my bird s fly into wire, tree or building just flying but I have seem them dive into brushes and trees to get away from hawks and falcons and get injured that way.

  • Some of my pigeons do the same thing. They would fly right into bushes and trees to avoid being meal for falcons. Pigeons are very smart birds.

  • Once had a neighbour that had pigeons.

Our young brown Burmese cat ended up catching two of them.

Pigeons are fast, but that little brown Burmese was a lightning bolt.

  • I love pigeons. I remember a falcon chasing my yellow female roller. She dropped from the sky like a falcon, so fast I was opening my jaw. My gosh, pigeons are not just little slow birds. They are fast as heck.

  • How i can protect my pigeons from falcons or hawks?

  • i Saw a pigeon get run over and it fell on the floor and a car whill hit it and all its guts came out

  • thank you!

  • The peregrine is not more maneuverable. Sorry BBC. You are full of shit.

  • Hehehe.

  • DOES THE PIGEON SURVIVE???

  • I have Turkisch Takla's(pigeons) in Holland(the netherlands), and every week i see 2-3 attacks to my pigeons from the Falcons. But in 1/2 year time the falcon get 1 pigeon. Many people thinks that the Falcon haves speed en power , but the pigeons haves incredible reflections so they dont getting food for the falcon.I see many attacks but every times the pigeons rulez :)(srry for the bad english)

  • @FBahcem

i have a peregrine that catches nearly every pigeon it shoots for. hundreds in the last 3 years. dont be fooled by your captive well conditioned pigeons, they are quite different than ferrel rock doves that raptors primarily hunt. i have pigeons as well and lose 1 every week to raptors.

  • Esto es ARTE Señores.

  • Few people realize what good fliers pigeons are until they see one in front of a hawk or falcon. They frequently roll out of the way of stooping falcons and the momentum of the falcon prevents it from making a quick turn to get another shot at the pigeon, who is by then making good its escape in the other direction!

They are a long way from defenseless.

  • Just the fact that they keep flying into my window :)

  • They also poop bomb your head when you're walking under them. T_T

  • don't take pigeons as a sitting ducks... some breeds of pigeons have a reputation of out- maneuvering falcons. falcons may have speed but most of people rarely see the agility and tactics of tipplers, tumblers and homers also...

  • is that so? imagine a falcon running into our heads..

  • FALCON PAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The pigeon must be thinking, "get this camera off my back."

  • lol haha =)))

  • Even though Cheetahs give up after a kilometer or so...

What the Falcons do are deadly if they mess up, if a cheetah messes up, it just trips up and maybe grazes itself.

  • i love pigeons and songbirds and guess what everyone hawks and falcons are killing them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And that my friend is total nonsense. Cats & new farming methods count for more deaths than any falcon. Falcons are being persucuted by misinformed people like yourself who think they're doing the world a favour.

  • The dumping of cats by stupid humans is having a dramatic effect on wildlife. 1 cat can kill many small rodents and birds in a single day. In florida where exhausted migrating birds are forced to land the effects are horrifying. At least have the sense to take unwanted pets to a shelter or the so-called "humane" society, or better yet just don't get a pet without thinking it through first. Not unlike we humans, a cat is a fierce survivor.

  • and this is a recent development, right?

  • we got too many of those flying rats in london. they aren't nice pigeons you get in other places, so i welcome falcons and hawks killing them. IF only we could have them flying around in london :(

  • Comment removed

  • Falcons dont eat humans.

  • An if they didn't kill them they would over populate and die off.

  • FAST BIRD

  • No, Geese are....

  • & i heared Oriental roller were originally bred to evade the desert falcon of the middleast & Very rarely can a hawk catch a flying Oriental Roller

  • Well of course the pigeon isn't gonna be as fast, its got a bloody camera strapped to it!

  • Very cool In cincinatti Ohio there are some p.falcons and I am a roofer when I put a roof on a church steeple we watched them snatch pidgeons out of mid air and pick their brains out and eat them!!!! They only ate the brains and discarded the rest of the bird . It was one of the coolest things I ever saw!!!! Before we could put the roof on we had to shoot pidgeons with a bb gun. The preacher told us that pidgeons dont have souls so we werent commiting sins against nature.

  • rofl @ the preacher....

  • @8675tree09

this might well be the best comment i have ever read in my life :D

  • Hey Niox20 thanks for the comment . It was one of the coolest things I ever seen and we were so close to them about 8 feet away !!! they lived inside the steeple and they entered through a vent in the roof . When I told the preacher about them he said he knew they were there and not to fix the vent so they could still get in and out . The Falcons would sit on the edge of the down spout and wait for a pidgeon to fly by and then they would dive down on them with tremendous speed and snatch them !!

  • Naah, pigeons are about as intelligent as we give them credit for. Not very. The crow on the other hand is a completely different story. Now those are some pretty smart birds.

  • Everything's easy for Falcon except the pigeons race .......

Tribute to a pigeon race ...

  • I always say that pigeon race fastest of the Falcon ...

  • i shall call that one "Young Geezy"

  • a falcon can go 200-300km an hour

the pigeon can go about 100km an hour

    Easy breakfast

  • I keep racing pigeons and have seen hawks go after them but they can't catch them while flying. They need to surprise them while they're resting. There is a video on youtube of a racing pigeon out-flying a peregrine, pretty amazing. Raptors may have superior speed but racers fly 1000s of miles .. Sometime flying 600 or more in one day during a race.

  • i loved it , they used real racing pigeons , my favourites

  • so they put like lil cam on that pigeon? lol. wow! nice vid. this ppl got some nice video. "african lungfish" must see video.

  • that pigeon in those shots might be a prop!... something about that doeesn't look real to me

  • Yea true, i hear we never landed on the moon either.

  • whao tat falcon looks so great... soaring in the air.... escpiecially the wings, cutting trough the air...

  • If you are living in an apartment with a balcony, you would hate pigeons.

  • i a m amazed high quality

    cool

  • I love pigeons. They are some of the most beautiful birds out there. I once raised a coop of roller pigeons and it's amazing to see how they fly when falcon chased them. My pigeons dived and sped like a bullet from the sky. My diver pigeon dropped 1000ft from the sky all the way down home. One falcon target my yellow pigeon, however, she dived so fast and swoop up into the sky like a missile, the falcon couldn't catch her. I was so amazed to see how fast pigeons can be. They are lovely birds.

  • you would be fast too if you were running for your life, lol

  • Wow, This gave me goosebumps.

    No idea why.

    I <3 Falcons (:

  • i just dont understand how they film this kind of shit, same for ant lairs how the HELL do you film that xD

  • Wow !

  • ApoIogetics

  • I will never look at pigeons in the same way again.

  • LOL

  • Next Episode - Crab vs Panda

  • Cool. Bird's eye view!

  • 8! lol!

  • Pretty cool, but how'd the heck did they get a camera on a pigeon?

  • they use "fingercams". pretty small cameras...at the size of a finger....:D

  • I'd imagine it's the same way you get anything strapped to a pigeon. You make (or buy, I check, they're not expensive) a small backpack that loops around the wings and hooks over the chest, you take your pigeon, strap him in against his will, and then throw him at a falcon.

  • Peregrine falcons are amazing! Nothing on the planet comes close to it's amazing speed ^_^

  • Trust me, you haven't seen the real speed of a pigeon. Peregrine falcons are amazing, however, don't underestimate the cute lovely pigeons.
