@ProudVolunteer19 This truck is replacing a rescue. I think all of the engines in Vancouver have light Jaws on board... any serious extrication and they will need a heavy rescue to respond. They still have 4-5 heavy rescues around with Jaws and airbags and bottles.
@MidnightPolak . You are correct, don't forget the AED and suction too :) It's more manuverable in City traffic. But, it's nice to have that big tool box in the event you need something quickly that wasn't relayed to dispatch. Forceable entry tools, lighting, ladder etc..
@SNS8R03 nah man... BCAS will still be around in towns and other parts of the city... you might see Vancouver Fire Rescue become like NYFD were the Paramedics are part of the Fire Department.
Wow I like that truck it looks really good.

So what apparatus is this truck replacing? A Rescue? But don't rescues carry extrication equipment?

What happened to the Sprinters that were supposed to come? Cool 'rig' though... and holy damn you have a good camera.

@MidnightPolak I think the sprinters may still be coming, as long as VFRS takes over the Ambulance contract in Vancouver.

OMG I want one

Nice one! I always thought it was overkill sending a full-sized engine to a medical call, this unit should keep costs down for them.

@thekiwicanuck And it's gotta make it much quicker to get around through traffic in Down town Vancouver!!! I love the idea too!
