Thank you for this, I've forwarded it to a friend who has been devastated by this notion that he could return to moderate drinking. Wondering if you know if this applies to other addictions, such as pot or gambling? A family member had a serious (ended up in jail) gambling addiction, and after a few years off, he started gambling on week-ends, telling his wife that what he was spending gambling was no more than going bowling and having pizza & his wife thought this sounded OK & I said no way!
