He can't make bail.Court is backed up so he has to sit. Here comes the prosecutor offering him to plead guilty and he can leave on probation , or sit in jail waiting on court. When reading stats one must know that they're mostly for repeat offenders, and not on an individual basis...Arrests are also adding in. Arrests does not =convictions...Laws are changing for drugs !..Some states want to pass a law to make the sale of heroin attempted murder, which will fall under violent crime. A lot of our black men and women are behind bars because they're drug addicts. They sell drugs to support their habits. Being incarcerated is no place for an addict.Not being given the proper care, they will be back in the prison system. My friend had 1 Vicodin left for pain of having teeth pulled. He trashes the pill bottle. He gets arrested for possession of narcotics while on his way to work. He's thrown in jail. He can't make bail.Court is backed up so he has to sit. Here comes the prosecutor offering him to plead guilty and he can leave on probation , or sit in jail waiting on court. He was placed between a rock and a hard place. His right to due process was violated. He pleads guilty on a charge he could've beat

When reading stats one must know that they're mostly for repeat offenders, and not on an individual basis...Arrests are also adding in. Arrests does not =convictions...Laws are changing for drugs !..Some states want to pass a law to make the sale of heroin attempted murder, which will fall under violent crime. The amount of drugs on your person can fall under violent crime. 3 times for simple possession is now considered violent. Stats on violent crimes are very misleading

A lot of our black men and women are behind bars because they're drug addicts. They sell drugs to support their habits. Being incarcerated is no place for an addict.Not being given the proper care, they will be back in the prison system. Whites don't show up in the stats because of the alternatives given by a judge, which are rehabs or mental hospitals. Cops not targeting whites for drug abuse are not doing them any favors.They're throwing them to the wolves..Cops are ignorant to drug abuse

Mass incarceration, and an unfair justice system are not the only problem. Knuckleheads with no common sense are also a big part of the problem. I'm black and I'm telling you, starting in the late 80's, stupidity somehow became glamorized, partly through images in popular culture (media), and people fell under the spell.
And of course, the crack/post-crack era. It's like being in a bad sci-fi flick.

I never believed in conspiracy theories back in the 80's but now 30 years later I am really scared for everyone in the U.S I don't care what you are it's WHO you are.The MEDIA changed drastically! @Jkkmolina Im a white wmn in a lwr midclass white area. Had several clrd frnds @ grilling prty last wk n a cruiser passed by 5x during prty - apx.4 hrs. My son visits them, he is pulled over to "warn him" he is in a "bad area" -never has seen any violence there. U r thinking fine. Tyranny is here and we need to stand up as one people to stop it. over 2/3 of the people I know have been arrested or harrassed. All of them are poor and/or minority.

People of any given race go to jail because they deserve it! I am a Security Guard and I see it all the time. Most people who have caused me problems throughout my Four year career as a security guard have been Black! They just plain commit more crimes. The crimes they commit are just worse than the ones White people commit! They also commit more crimes than White people do. They also abuse the Welfare system more often than White people do. I see that when I have them arrested and trespassed!

You have to look at WHY black get arrested for a crime, i think dugs, ALL drugs should be legal, but black get arrested more offten because a culture of, saying I dont' give a fuck what the law say not becasue they black. It's more exccpeted and more flaunted "fuck the law" is normalized It's the way. Ofcourse if you put it out there u more likely to get busted, I've gone to parties in hood they NOTHING like parties in marrberry. even if sill some drugs it undercover.
