MGS4 is definitely one of the best games ever! cant believe its already been 3 years since this masterpiece arrived,i have got all 40 ranks (including big boss),this game is one of the best games ever and MGS unarguably the BEST game serie ever!
MGS4 may be the greatest game ever created. Just so epic and expertly made, a true masterpiece. Rising can be cool for tkhe extra story elements but it probably wont be up to normal metal gear standards. However I've actually always liked raiden alot so it definitely wont be bad.
also they said that they will be cutting some of the cutscenes so they rant as much as mgs4, i love the cutscenes, but i know that thats what put most of my friends off that game as some were too long.. i loved it tho, lol, btw bro rising is based between mgs2 and mgs4 depicting Raiden story.. :)

i am a biggggg metal gear solid fan owned and played them all... and i understand what you mean by rising being more action but i recently watched an interview with its creators and they did say that the stealth element is still available, and that you could play the game in stealth mode just like the original franchise. so in a away they are still keeping to the metal gear solid way! so i wouldn't be let off by the idea of too much action in rising! nice vid btw bro!

@BoomItsZach lets say the average gameplay length for a game was 8 hours, mgs4 gameplay would be above the average, so lets say 10 hours ASWELL as probably 5 hours of cutscenes, so its not trading gameplay for cutscenes its giving both without cutting out the story or gameplay, but MGS3 is awesome aswell, and is probably also my fav :)

@nikoface in my opinion, the story was great but it had two major shortcomings
1. long explanatory cutscenes sometimes made the game feel like a documentary
2. the naked sun ruined the ending (the graveyard scene with snake would have been one of the best endings ever, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO you know who had to show up)
@Tooopper the ending was good beckous big boss told him to not kill himself. Also told him to live a normal good life for a while and not use the time left to war. IS THAT BAD!? HOW CAN THAT BE BAD!?!?
@MegaAdam97 I am actually fine with the idea, but it was the execution that pissed me off. Big Boss made the game end with a giant explanation. I also thought Snake dying would be the ultimate emotional ending, especially for the scenes showing how all the other characters having happy ending. It just seemed like a suitable ending that perfectly portrays Snake's determination to do whatever it takes to fulfull his duty. The real ending just didn't suit Snake as a character.
@MegaAdam97 No problem. Besides some of the scenes in the real ending are pretty good and touching, but if they found a way to execute it better as a cutscene rather than a breafing (possible spelling fail), it would been a much better ending.

@detwan100 its nice to know the story, this game was specifically made to end the solid snake saga so of course its going to tie up loose ends and such. although its not that expensive anymore so i think you should just buy it.
call of duty i know its great but it gets boring really easy cause when you complete the campaign there really only is zombies and multiplayer but with mgs4 well all of them is awesome coz i played all of them at least 10 times and multiplayer is awesome! xD

It has its enjoyable moments but its missing some of the touches that made mgs3 best in the series:
interaction with the area via throwing snakes and being able to actually use ointment on burns and fix broken bones.I know that nobody could possibly fix broken bones that fast,but it gives a sense of survival more than just plain action.
Mgs4 is a good game but seriously the 3rd is far better my opinon.

There are some problems though:the bosses:
I found the bosses to be lack buster in some areas,especially the beauty and the beast who seem to all be more or less a clone of each other with a forced tragedy which tries to make you feel sympathy but lacks because you don't actually get to truly know them and instead they made a cheap cop out:Oh they suffered they were in a village and watched everyone die.

Raiden was emo and made a over melodramatic scene oh i almost died no i didn't and started this whole ninja gaiden shit fighting a bunch of robots turning the game into an action game instead of a spy game.
That bitch naomi betrays you at least 2 times in the series and then dies and you are supposed to give a shit? she betrays snake at least 2 fucking times maybe 3.
@BrutalSniper32 the fight with ocelot was epic when snake eater plays and you are kicking his ass.
And the metal gear rex fight also left me very satisfied in the end and the end does kind of tie mgs3 and mgs4 together because you see zero at the end in a wheelchair and how he is killed by i think the original snake who is known as big boss and is an old man.
I was aiming for the reward for going without being seen but i don't know if the big robot things count since there is almost no way to not be seen on shadow moses island.
@BrutalSniper32 The trick is to weave left and right to avoid the missles since they are dodgeable and the pattern more or less seems to stay the same.
Once you do that,just keep collecting missles and avoiding hits watching where they attack and when and busting them down,eventually you will win.
vamp is a pain in the ass in mgs2 on hard,he starts jumping out of water and starts throwing those stupid knives.
This for me is still the best game ever made. I did 5 single player play threws and the spent almost 500 hours online. Cant wait for Rising to be released. Bravo Konami on a EPIC game.

One of the best games i have ever played this game was the one game that made me look into the old metal gear solid games to see what happened before this one. crazy story too. You should make another video of this game showing what all the weapons do. one of my favorites is the 50 cal. which I almost always use and the Javelyn is crazy ass hell in this game. well yeah nice video you should make some more.
mgs4 was good, great even, but unless your a MGS fan you wouldnt really call it the best and the game thats sapose to be better than all should have no objections.

@Tainuibrawler412 I got it and it makes you have infinite ammo and the other one that looks like a lil machine is the stealth one. I got both of them in one play through but it took me long as hell cuz i had to keep on quitting game and going back in so i can pass through the map perfectly. I also got the solar gun, that one shot gun that makes a tornado when you shoot it. and other crazy shit like the patriot gun. if i knew how to send you my gamesave to show you i will but idk how.

Could someone please explain to me the appeal of this game? I only have a 360 and games like God of War and Uncharted look a lot better to me. To me, the controls look stiff and I get bored from watching 5 minute cutscenes, let alone hour long ones.
Its one of those rare games that come around once in a while where ABSOLUTELY NOTHING seems to be lacking, everything is just completely top-notch! Its been two years and still when I play it, I'm like, 'Oh my God!! Never mind 10/10, this game deserves an 11!!!' Now thats the mark of a masterpiece! The cutscenes are extremely engaging if you're into the storyline, its like catching the next episode of your favourite show, you can't wait to see them! Gameplay is flawless! Just :O!
They're better for action and scale, but that isn't what games are all about. Its the depth and complexity what make MGS4 such a masterpiece! I've hardly ever played a game that gives you such a vast list of ways to take down your enemies. You really do shape the gameplay yourself! If you're a guns blazing sort of player there's over 50 different guns to experiment with, not mentioning attachments, if you want to be stealthy, the amount of stealth gadgets is absolutely massive!

@piromaniac9999 I played all these games because I have ps2,ps3 xbox360 and I once had a psx... but I think that if metal gear solid (1-3) have a excellent history and great gameplays, gears of war it´s a great game too ,but none of these game can be so epic than mgs4, the history of mgs4 have a excellent fundament, it´s simply a master piece. . . I don´t think that this game is overrated, this game deserves that title :)
I`m neither a sonyer or xboxer, I`m just a gamer :)

@BrutalSniper32 Metal gear solid 4 is a very solid game ok? but its not best game evarr!!
It has its enjoyable moments but its missing some of the touches that made mgs3 best in the series:
interaction with the area via throwing snakes and being able to actually use ointment on burns and fix broken bones.I know that nobody could possibly fix broken bones that fast,but it gives a sense of survival more than just plain action.
Mgs4 is a good game but seriously the 3rd is far better my opinon.

ok, it's your opinion, and I respect it, is obvious that you preffer a survival game, and that game is one of my favourite games. ^^ but I really preffer the history and the gameplay of mgs4 because has more essence of espionage than mgs3.

As much as i love metal gear solid series,4 took things that metal gear wasn't about:Too many guns too much cutscenes and not as much gameplay.The levels are more linear and less spying involved and they took out the survival bit too.
People are starting to become obsessive in claiming it best ever just like the ff7 fanboys and guess where that got them? ridiculed and hated,cept i actually don't hate mgs4 like i do ff7.

@piromaniac9999 and in the history of mgs4 there are all the stories of the mgs saga combined to form this awesome history, mgs3´s history it´s only a piece of the mgs history, but mgs4 it´s the end of the saga and Kojima knew how finish the history as it should be...

@BrutalSniper32 Yeah mgs4 was kinda made to be the last game and it did it very well.
There are some problems though:the bosses:
I found the bosses to be lack buster in some areas,especially the beauty and the beast who seem to all be more or less a clone of each other with a forced tragedy which tries to make you feel sympathy but lacks because you don't actually get to truly know them and instead they made a cheap cop out:Oh they suffered they were in a village and watched everyone die.

Raiden was emo and made a over melodramatic scene oh i almost died no i didn't and started this whole ninja gaiden shit fighting a bunch of robots turning the game into an action game instead of a spy game.
That bitch naomi betrays you at least 2 times in the series and then dies and you are supposed to give a shit? she betrays snake at least 2 fucking times maybe 3.

@BrutalSniper32 the fight with ocelot was epic when snake eater plays and you are kicking his ass.
And the metal gear rex fight also left me very satisfied in the end and the end does kind of tie mgs3 and mgs4 together because you see zero at the end in a wheelchair and how he is killed by i think the original snake who is known as big boss and is an old man.

@BrutalSniper32 I'm a big fan of metal gear solid series.
I beat mgs1 to death that i know how to react and only thing left for me is to beat it on european extreme.
Mgs2 i beat it on hard difficulty and boy was it a royal pain in the ass.
Those robot enemies just keep coming and you have to shoot missiles at it,but i found a trick for survival.
mgs3 i got all the items via using sleeping gun even on the infamous boss:the end which was really quite hard.

@BrutalSniper32 The trick is to weave left and right to avoid the missles since they are dodgeable and the pattern more or less seems to stay the same.
Once you do that,just keep collecting missles and avoiding hits watching where they attack and when and busting them down,eventually you will win.
vamp is a pain in the ass in mgs2 on hard,he starts jumping out of water and starts throwing those stupid knives.
I admit it is kinda cool fight though.

This for me is still the best game ever made. I did 5 single player play threws and the spent almost 500 hours online. Cant wait for Rising to be released. Bravo Konami on a EPIC game.

One of the best games i have ever played this game was the one game that made me look into the old metal gear solid games to see what happened before this one. crazy story too. You should make another video of this game showing what all the weapons do. one of my favorites is the 50 cal. which I almost always use and the Javelyn is crazy ass hell in this game. well yeah nice video you should make some more.

@Tainuibrawler412 I got it and it makes you have infinite ammo and the other one that looks like a lil machine is the stealth one. I got both of them in one play through but it took me long as hell cuz i had to keep on quitting game and going back in so i can pass through the map perfectly. I also got the solar gun, that one shot gun that makes a tornado when you shoot it. and other crazy shit like the patriot gun. if i knew how to send you my gamesave to show you i will but idk how.

Could someone please explain to me the appeal of this game? I only have a 360 and games like God of War and Uncharted look a lot better to me. To me, the controls look stiff and I get bored from watching 5 minute cutscenes, let alone hour long ones.

Its one of those rare games that come around once in a while where ABSOLUTELY NOTHING seems to be lacking, everything is just completely top-notch! Its been two years and still when I play it, I'm like, 'Oh my God!! Never mind 10/10, this game deserves an 11!!!' Now thats the mark of a masterpiece! The cutscenes are extremely engaging if you're into the storyline, its like catching the next episode of your favourite show, you can't wait to see them! Gameplay is flawless! Just :O!

They're better for action and scale, but that isn't what games are all about. Its the depth and complexity what make MGS4 such a masterpiece! I've hardly ever played a game that gives you such a vast list of ways to take down your enemies. You really do shape the gameplay yourself! If you're a guns blazing sort of player there's over 50 different guns to experiment with, not mentioning attachments, if you want to be stealthy, the amount of stealth gadgets is absolutely massive!
