I could not find the exact test sheet (some of them have no dates on them) and can no longer log into BritishDressage but most of his Elementary scores during this time were in the 65 to 69% range.
fair point you cant heard cattle while a horse is working rounded i dont see people trying to make there horses heard cattle with the horse in a dressage frame, do you? dressage horses arent trained to heard cattle, just like raunch horses arent trained do dressage, each takes a lot of skill, why put a comment like this, its just bitchy.
Let's go bounce 4 inches out of our saddle when trying to sit. Yay!
Let's run our horses into barrels pretending we're in the Kentucky Derby. Yay!
Let's go act like we're a bunch of tough cowgirls when you're whimpier than Dressage girls. Yay!
I know you're probably upset you fell off your horse at your last rodeo, but please, don't take it out on we Dressage riders. Go complain to your Ma after you finish feeding the chickens, okay redneck?
I hate the western saddle too. I do cossack riding and attempted to learn on both the Moorish (western) and Hungarian (English) saddles. The western saddle is fucking horrendous. There is almost nothing good about it. I am going to be making my own cossack saddle soon. They are built similarly to the Hungarian saddle, but there is a big cushion to sit on. The cushion is there because cavalry hate having very sore asses at the end of a hard ride.
I agree, beautiful indoor. Shame about the difficulties in the canter, but very well ridden. It's easy to get flustered when we make mistakes in tests (nerve racking enough without them!). Takes a good rider to remain relaxed and ride through the mistakes. :) well done.
I agree the rider looked a little bit tense, probably due to "test stress", but he handled it very well, especially when there was an issue with canter. I thought whips were not allowed in tests.
Yeah, In South Africa there is no posting in elementary either. So not fair!
I just loved the riding hall. We dont see those here coz it is hot all year. And some of the ones I have seen overseas look so dull. That one is so nice and bright!!
Yes this is a fabulous place... it is the new Equine Equestrian Center at Aintree Racecourse (where they run the Grand National!) I love all the windows and light, but, yes I think it can add to spookiness. ;-)
Is this competition in the US? It may just be the video but it doesn't look like Timon's owner riding him - lovely rhythm and relaxation in the trot work, but a little tense and unbalanced in canter? great to see this horse again - feel I know him so well from all your excellent postings!
Is this the same rider/horse combination as in your other videos?
It's so interesting to see riders posting in this level test. In the States, in 2nd level there is absolutely no posting. I wish posting were allowed - whenever I see european tests, the horses are so much more forward than the cramped riding I see here in the U.S.
Really a nice test. Congrats.

God I hate dressage...
Let's go curl our horses necks under their legs! Yayyyy useless riding styles!
I'm going to get flamed for this, but you can't herd cattle if your horse can't see what it's doing.
A lot of people don't know how to transition over from english to western, thats kinda the point I am making.

Nice video!

yes whips are allowed in the UK, just not in the Regional or Finals competitions.

You are right; my friend is riding Timon. He did win the class with a 63%, even with the errors. (All the horses were spooky that day!)
