Thank you for putting your history down online. The Fil-Am experience of a past generation is a lesson that should not be forgotten by its progeny. It will be interesting to see how Fil-Ams of this generation adapt and overcome despite, or maybe thankfully, that we are not beholden to old-world Asian culture and traditions.
angelo, ur right! everyone of us that came here has a goal, to left the family from poverty and make our own family. Way back in the philippines was our life of bitterness but through that we we're encourage to strive harder in everything, learn faster than anyone and survive like weeds... but the most extraordinary thing is the family closeness even friends. Come what may, that tie and bonding of our blood cannot be surpassed and exchange wherever we r, whatevery we do and whoever we're with!
as a filipino or filam people try to your fellow filam classmate to cook some filipino food like
PALABOK, BIBINGKA, PALITAW, KARE KARE, SUMAN, BICO, CHICKEN OR PORK ADOBO, RELYENONG BANGUS, BICOL EXPRESS, LAING, PANSIT BIHON, MAMI BATCHOY, DINUGUAN, GINATAANG KALABASA, SOPAS, PUTO, CHAMPORADO, LUGAW-AROZCALDO, BANANA QUE, KAMOTE QUE, GINATAAN, dringks: SAGO'T GULAMAN da best try nyong i search then you eaten it as fiesta: me suggestion!

Blame the merchant class of the city of Manila for sabotaging the "Filipino" independence movement of 1901-1906. Read into it. For starters, read "In Our Image" by Stanley Karnow. Semper Fidelis, Siempre Filipino.
It truly is amazing how Filipinos come to America to provide for better opportunities for their families and children. This is a wonderful project your doing Angelo!
