  • both of these guys who have been commenting for some time are both in the extreme. one of them says that everyone is saved without accepting Jesus, while one of them says that Joel tries to replace Jesus as the way to salvation. have you guys ever been to lakewood? apparently, you only select certain parts of his messages and take them out of context.

  • "some thought the church would be a lot smaller"....Not Joel, who had a grand scheme in mind. We'll sell what they want to hear, package it and massage each others cramped hands from all of the dollar bills we'll be counting! Thanks Dad !

  • @stanfan27 Odd that Joel does not take a salary from the church. Your imagination must be wrong.

  • It WAS the last days when Lakewood was a TRUE Church of Jesus Christ, instead of a gathering place for people interested not in the Gospel of Jesus' virgin birth, His sinless life, His declaration that "I AM the Way the Truth and the Life, no man cometh to the Father but by Me", His atoning Death on the Cross for sin, His bodily resurrection from the grave, and His ascension to heaven. Its now a stadium for self-help seminars.
  • @4freespeech Joel preaches to Christians. They are already familiar with that long list of doctrinal declarations, they want know how to live the Christian life.

  • @k0smon I used to believe the same thing.....but you need to remember 1/2 a truth is not the Whole truth....Osteen is a great motivational speaker...but a true Pastor??

  • @familyguybro78 His followers think he is, and it is their opinion that counts.

  • @k0smon: WHAT!?!?! NO...its what is IN THE BIBLE that counts! Do you read the Bible?

  • @familyguybro78 ;;;You asked about him being a pastor. His name is not listed in the bible, (except the book of Joel).. I believe as bible scholar Bart Ehrman does, that the bible is the word of man, not of God.

  • @k0smon So the Bible is wrong?

  • @familyguybro78 In many places, yes. Not only wrong, but contradictory. A book that is used to support both sides of an theological argument. It is one reason we have so many denominations.

  • @k0smon MISSINTERPETATION is why we have so many denominations. Here are the FACTS: Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life....Not Joel Osteen.

  • @familyguybro78 I like Carlton Pearson's approach to Christianity in his gospel of inclusion. He says Jesus came to save everyone, and they are saved whether they believe it or not. Also, check out Bart Ehrman's books "Misquoting Jesus" and "Jesus Interrupted" for an illuminated look at the bible.

  • @k0smon: I like GOD's approach to Christianity...it's called the Bible....Read Mathew 7:13 & 7:21-23 and know that you are on the broad path....I do not say this to condem you, I say this to help you.
