  • Great vid! I was having a hard time on picking a low cost high quality cold steel knife.I really like the pendelton and youre vid just reinforced what i was thinking.once again awsome vid keep up the great and honest work.Chris

  • Have you tried the Kershaw Antelope and Bear Hunter?

  • I'm interested in the Pendleton Lite & Finn Bear - Where would you recommend for the best price +Shipping. And those Sheaths are awesome, could you show us how to make them or where to buy them?

  • @Bhensley93 I bought mine from cheaper than dirt but i dont know if they carry them any more. I would say just to google shopping the knives and pick your website, sorry cant be more help but i usually buy them in person where i can feel and examine them more closely. on the sheaths, i am looking into making a how to vid soon so we will see.

  • @Bhensley93 knifeworks,,com if you haven't gotten one by now

  • @Bhensley93 bladeops.com - 18 bucks free shipping for the lite hunter

  • Could you please show us how to make the kydex sheaths? Or where to buy them from?

  • @georgipavlov100 i am really interested in doing a how to vid on kydex sheaths, i need to resupply on the materials and find a little time(it doesnt take long). I have been purchasing folding knives more than fixed blade knives for the past couple months so have not needed to make any new sheaths for a while. But now that i know the interest is there i may explore it.

  • My Roach Belly is for skinning/filetting and my CS Tanto Lite is for small wood camp chores, feather sticks, batoning of kindling. The Roach Belly can skin 2-3 deer with little or no touch ups/stropping. 4116 Krupp is least appreciated steel on the market. You've convinced me to get the the Pendleton Lite if only for back up. Glad to see someone else really appreciates Cold Steel's high value blades. I prefer them to anything else. I do have a big Ontario SP10 but use a hatchet/saw now instead.

  • @MrJoeyBoombotz yeah i could see the roach belly for filleting i has a good shape for that, i have an explorer folding filet knife that i use for that purpose, but i do like the roach belly. when you get the pendleton lite you will really fall in love with it, the blade shape and the handle are just perfect, at least for my hands. i own more high end knives as well but these do the job just as good for much less money. thanks for viewing and i appreciate the comment.

  • Dude! Where in Oklahoma are you?

  • @StarWarsSurvivalist okc baby

  • Use the money you saved buying a Cold Steel to buy a 9v battery, please. I don't want you to burn to death!

  • @phychmasher I like some cold steal stuff but i am a kershaw or spyderco guy

  • I sold my FinnBear because the handle did not feel comfortable for me. I own the so-called 1st Generation of Pendleton Hunter which is about triple the cost of your model. Whether mine is built 3 times better is subject to much debate.

I hunt in Maryland where one receives 12 deer tags with the purchase of a license. I've had good luck with my crossbow and typically process many deer each year so I get to try out knives. My favorite: Schrade ProHunter

  • @rushmoreman5 i havent hunted in a long time but i remember how difficult it was to complete if the blade didnt perform correctly and if the handle didnt fit me right. i really like the lite hunter, and plan on using it this year for pig, it is probly the best hunt here in oklahoma.

  • I hope you put a new battery in that smoke detector by now

  • @beetleswamp lol yeah i did thanks for the concern

  • Thanks for the review, you did a good job. Good info, was very helpful.

  • @ParamedicBK thanks cheap knives are awesome...when they perform well, and these are really good knives for the money

  • I like the design of the first and last knives. I don't like the second one that much.

  • @awesomeseekerdude999 the roach belly is a good knife but the blade shape is not as useful as the others, the pendleton lite hunter is the most useful and best quality knife out of the bunch, and only like two dollars more than the others.

  • out of all three what would be second best?

  • @BRAWLERBOY66 i prefer the finn bear, i like the blade shape, and the lack of a guard doesnt bother me. it is also a couple dollars cheaper than the other.

  • Luv the sheaths. If you're looking for a guinea pig, I'll be your guy! Just bought a Pendleton Lite a few weeks ago and was scanning the web for how to get a Kydex sheath for it. I like your Finn Bear sheath above, w/ the straight lines. If you're at all interested in making another P-Lite sheath in that Finn Bear style let me know. Long Live the Lite!

  • @johnnythedane yeah the pendleton lite is the best out of the group, i would like to try to make a similar sheath for the lite. the sheaths i make are a little rough but they work really nicely, i will start one and see how it turns out. if you want ill message you when it is complete and get your info so i can send it out to you. just so you know the finn bear sheath is a horizontal mounted sheath, dont know if you want that, they work very well for these smaller lite knives.

  • @TheRGreviews I do prefer horizontal so that sounds great, thanks.

  • where did you get the eyelets for your sheaths?

  • @gotcalves i got all the parts from knifekits(dot)com, they were very cheap.

  • fantastic review dude!

I just ordered a Roach Belly today.

where did you get the custom kydex sheath for the Roach Belly tho, cause I'm really not diggin' the cordura..

  • @theeviltacoman i actually made it myself, i got all the material from knifekits(dot)com. it is really easy to do, once you get the hang of it, takes only a half hour or so for me to get one done. i may do a video on how to make one, if you are interested just let me know what you are looking for, i may just make one for you for free and do a video on it.

  • Very good choices! I'll add the Buck 119 to that list as well. Classic knife design that's made in the USA, from a proven manufacturer. The steel is 420HC but Buck heat treats their steel so well that it behaves like a higher quality more expensive steel. Sharpens easily yet holds it's edge. Full tang as well so it can take some abuse. Teh 119 runs around $30-40 so it's a bit more than the blades you listed, but it's an excellent option if you can spend just a bit more.

  • @Sanjuro82 thank you. i actually have some experience with the model 119, i like it alot, buck 420hc is one of the best value steels out there thanks to their great heat treatment. buck makes some very nice knives and i have owned bucks since i was a kid, i have a buck packlite model 135 that i will be doing a very positive review on in the near future. stay tuned.
