  • He is so cute!!! Im a frog lover

  • @Carlacupcake12345678 Thanks! :D It's actually a girl. She's still doing great :)

  • In my opinion I would make the water deeper but it is opinion,

  • Oh my gosh! I had two clawed frogs but they were tiny! Maybe 1 1/2 inch big. How could yours get so large?? Lol. do they really get that large with age?

  • @kittysupersuper There are also dwarf frogs that look the same but don't have the three black "claws" on their hind feet, are you sure yours had claws? :) Clawed frogs start out that small, yeah, but they grow quickly. :D

  • @AndromedaRoach Oh yeah, they were definitely clawed. Maybe a bloodworm diet keeps em little? lol

They are so adorable. How old is the frog in this video?

  • @kittysupersuper Huh, okay :D I don't know, I got her five or six years ago from a family that didn't want her any more, and I don't know how old she was then. Apparently they're supposed to reach full size in 7 to 12 months. :)

  • wtf

  • It needs more water

  • What size tank is that?

  • @FLIPminoman 10 gallon :P

  • @AndromedaRoach Really? Looks bigger. Anyway I just almost lost my tropical clawed frog, I saw Rex's legs sticking out of Froggy's mouth and scared my frog so she would spit him out.Rex is dead....R.I.P. Wait, 5 mins later I'm pissed at my frog so I walk over to check on her(she got fat after she ate Rex)and shes ok,I look at the fish tank and see Rex with internal bleeding swimming around my fish tank!!! I actually saved Rex from Froggy!I hope Froggy dosen't get swim bladder and die like my

  • @FLIPminoman (continued) goldfish did and that Rex heals and dosen't die.........

  • @FLIPminoman Um... wow., that's traumatic O_o What is Rex?

  • @AndromedaRoach thats too small

  • Tropical clawed frog? Cool!!!!!!!! This vid has always been one of my favs on youtube!

  • @FLIPminoman Thank you! :)

  • Do they destroy live plants

  • @eedee91 I've heard they do, yeah :P I've never put plants in there to find out....

  • omg thats huge!

  • Lollercopterz I am so much better at editing now than when I made this XD

  • in a petco near me in new york they sell them for around 10 dollars

  • @AxDUBZxSODMG thats a good price

  • how much do the frogs cost cuz i have the tank n all that kina stuff i just need the frog now

  • I don't know, I got this one second-hand. :) I do know they're illegal in some places because people idiotically release them into the wild, and they eat everything. You can probably get a small one for just a few pounds, if they're as widely available in the UK as they tend to be here in America.

  • thanks ive had been all over the net trying to find out how much they cost

  • You don't have a pet shop nearby that sells them? I don't think they're illegal in the UK yet... apparently they've been found living in cisterns there, though. :-P

  • cool beans

  • Yeah... good luck :D

  • i am an expert on these frogs(hence my utube name). Please don't encourage people on getting these frogs as pets if they don't know about them. They really need a full aquarium, like fish. They love nightcrawlers and goldfish. they also need a good water pump to keep their tank clean.

  • some expert you are. goldfish are extremely fatty and they have serrated spines which can do serious damage to your frog when he eats them. also water pumps produce vibrations which are detrimental to the frog and are akin to a person living with a jackhammer going off 24/7

  • I have has these frogs for over 15 years and have never had a problem with feeding them goldfish. Water filters are more useful than harmful. I am going by experience! My oldest I have had for 14 and a half years and she is very happy! How long have you had frogs like these?

  • first off 12 yrs but do whtever makes ur frogs happy

  • what are you feeding him?

  • Little bits of reptile pellets and freeze-dried brine shrimp and tubifex worms. :) And I'm pretty sure it's a her....

  • albino's are better.

  • Why? My mom doesn't like them. She says they look ill. :-D

  • yah just browsing around on youtube before I got one to look up on care and what they eat I was surprised to see some that size....lol

  • when they start getting bigger I will get a bigger tank I always thought they stayed that small since I always saw them at the pet store which have always been small...well that is good that your frog is being well tooken care of

  • Right... pet stores must sell them pretty quickly. :-D Within a few months of getting them... they'd still be about that size, I guess. Saw large ones like mine in an education store once. They were from Grow-a-Frog. :-P

  • I will be sure to check it out thank's...so how are your frogs doing?

  • Yeah, apparently they take three years to reach full size. I only have one, she's fine last I heard... haven't seen her in three months. :)

  • yah they get worms everyday they have grown not that much but I can see a difference

  • lol yah they are small that is always how I have seen them at pet shops but on the other hand I have never seen them like the size you have...lol

  • I've seen them as small as maybe an inch and a half... I think females always get this big if you feed them well. :D

  • Check out "African Clawed Frog Babies Feeding Frenzy" under related videos, that user has lots of knowledge/experience. :)

  • Nice!!! at this point I dont have to worry about them eating my betta's they are like the size of a pinky nail I actaully did not know the african dwarf clawed frogs got that big guess cause in the pet store you always see them in their small stages...so far so good they just hide out under there little flower pot cave the betta dont mess with them actually the famales share the same hiding spot as the frogs

  • Seriously? Wow, I thought they were never that small. They grow from tadpoles... maybe you have juvenile Dwarfs? That's nice any way.... :)

  • Nice!!! I have 3 little ones that live on the bottom of my betta tank how long did your frog take to get to that size?

  • Thanks! :) I don't know how long it took her to grow this large, since I got her second-hand from a family that didn't want her any more. Just make sure you separate yours before there's the most remote chance they might eat the betta... unless you actually have dwarf (non-clawed) African frogs, in which case you don't need to worry about that. :)

  • You should make the water deeper. I have 6 of these and they love deeper water

  • Well, if I ever have a frog in a tank with a filter, I will. :)

  • Great and entertaining video! I have several ACF but only one with the color patern like yours. It is my favorite pattern on the natural colored ones. Nice frog you have!!

  • Thanks! I didn't really realize it was a special pattern... that's nice. :)

  • hi dude, thats one good healthy frog lol. And yes rock is the best feeding music WHAHAHAAA. Tip: if you want to let him get oldm raise the water to a minimum of 1 - 1,5 time his body lenght and put some rocks in the tank so he can decide to sit in shallow or more deep water. Also a bigger fishtank makes him get older. I don't know about partners/company and AFC. But he looks good, nice colours!! :D

  • I thought this was sort of industrial techno. :-P

Thanks. I got her from a previous owner and I've had her for a couple of years already... I think if I wanted her to live the longest possible time, I wouldn't routinely leave her three weeks without doing a water change. :-D I'm a bad owner.

  • i have 12 african frogs just like that....i have 12 adults about three years old in a 40 gallon tank....i have my water all the way almost filled to the top...with creen of coarse...but that water is fine..yours is so fat lOl I thought my frogga was fat the one tat stole al the food but nvm...but cutest thing!! u have the best LoL

  • Haha, thanks. :D She does have a locked screen as well. And yeah, she gets fed way too much. X-D Their instinct is to stuff themselves because in the wild they only have a very short time to feed.

The horse I have in riding lessons is about as fat as my frog. :P I once read a comment some other ACF owner got - "Your frog sure is fat!" ^_^

  • I have albinos there about the smae size as that well my old ones did they died when i went on vaction... :[ I got new ones but they're are still small I got a video of tehm but dont u think the water is a bit shallow??

  • That's sad - mine almost died once during a vacation, when the goldfish sharing her tank (baaaad idea!) died and rotted. But she made a full recovery. :)

As for the water depth, see my comment below. :)

  • poor little bugger

  • Heh! Yeah, in the words of some guy to some other African clawed frog owner, "Your frog sure is fat!" :-D

  • Lol, that's happened to you before eh? :D This frog was given to us by a family who didn't want her. I found two coins in her gravel the first time I changed her water. @_@ She ought to have been killed by the dissolved metal, but she wasn't. She does seem to have cataracts, which apparently old frogs get, making it difficult to see.

  • 6-12 inches of water is supposed to be fine. She seems to like to "stand" on the bottom, which she can't do when there's too much water. Also, she jumps almost all the way to the top of the tank when she's hungry - she'd either hit herself on the cover, or jump out during water changes, if there were more water in the tank. :)

  • I also handfeed my frogs they are sooo funny wen they take it from your fingers!!!

  • Yeah, it's fun. :) I only do it this way when the tank lid is off for a water change, though... usually I just drop it in, and since she has cataracts I usually have to guide her to it with a barbecue stick. :-P
