While the video is rather old and a lot of the interface has changed, the citation parser is still a feature! You have to click "Add Document > Automatic Metadata Extraction", then select the PDFs you want to import, and the parsing will start.
If it doesn't work when you're trying it, please check whether you're importing text PDFs (should work) or scanned/image PDFs (doesn't work, because Mendeley doesn't have OCR/Optical Character Recognition yet).
I'm just trying out Mendeley - thank you for a really interesting and potentially v. powerful application. The citation parser shown in your vid looks really good but wonder if it's still a feature as can't find it in the desktop app...?
So reference extraction (like in 00:38) is not existing anymore in the current Mac OS version, right? Could not find it.
