Sold my Zx6r when I went back to school. When I graduate I'm getting me an R1. And nothing beyond a 2008 R1. They've simply killed the sound of the R1 with the newer models.Sounds more like a Ducati. I really dont care what the advantages are. I wanna ENJOY the bike. I'm never gonna get into competitive racing so I would never care about an R1 with its timing changed for better performance. I want the looks, the SOUND, the turning heads and the occasional heart attack. That's the bottom line.

I'll tell you I've had 3 of them and their souls must of been dead cuz each one was always breaking down idling it around. Never knowing where it would strand me on the side of the road. This R1 is a beautiful bike with plenty of soul. I have a FZ1 with the detuned R1 motor and when it hits 11,000RPM blasting down a straight away towards a curve makes the adrenaline flow and reminds me I'm alive. That's soul to me!
