Out of curiosity, to those who have the game, how are the battles? They look similar to Persona 2, so I was wondering: do you still have to form contracts with the demons? Also, do you still have to get tarot cards from contacting demons in order to summon new Persona?

Getting new Persona is slightly easier in Persona 1. You have to use Contact options that make enemies "Eager". Maxing out the Eager option will make them offer to give you their Spell Card (a card unique to that monster that's used in Persona fusion). Instead of having to gather hundreds of Tarot cards to summon new Personas, you just have to get ther Spell Cards from different demons (and you only need 1 of each).

To me, P3 n P4 were ok, but most people appreciate the story of both. When you play P1, you have to mature enough to get past the graphics and care about the story because story wise, its still up there with P3.

If your one who cares about graphics more than gameplay and story then wait for the P3 re-make.

I'm a bit upset by this. When I heard they were bringing the game out on PSP I got extremely excited... for quicker loading times, revamped graphics, ORIGINAL characters! But this just reminds me of P3 and 4, very upbeat. Persona from my memories and experience was dark. I remember the music scaring me in a good way. This music is so poppy. I can't help but feel that the game won't give the same feeling. It really shows me how powerful music can be.

The new opening is cool and don't get me wrong the musics okay and goes perfectly with it and I like it; BUT I loved the original theme the piano in it is played beautifuly and the begining verses of the butterfly was a key part of the game, well for me it was. Then we got the original intro combined with the original music that made it feel like some impending tragedy was going to happen.

the main points why i love the Smt series is that it actually sets in modern time not like what you see in a traditional rpg with medieval castle and kings kind of stuff
