Great post. I live in Osaka. Must say: fine people. Japanese are naturally good-willed, and decent. Tragedy was, the old Samurai took power. US was right to bomb Hiroshima. If you live here, you will see the discipline. Millions would have died in a long, protracted guerilla war.

What a horrific battle. The Japanese never fought more suicial than at this battle. It would only have been worse, if the US had invaded Japan proper. I know many don't like it, but I am greatful that we used the atom bomb. It prevented millions of deaths that would have happened, had Japan itself been invaded.
