well i am 33 and i know about bataan and ww2 and it truly saddens me that such a great man like Mr. Troness had to suffer the disappointment of feeling like his heroism and sacrifice may be forgotten. i teach my children what the schools leave out about american heroes like you. thank you again, Mr. Troness.
we should never forget you Sir for all you went through for us Americans . I been to the Philppines many times and think about those who gave there all R.I.P.
@8592291613 Thanks very much for your kind words. It was an interesting coincidnce that the priest who presided at his funeral just happened to Phillipino. He was embarrased that it was the first time he acknowledged the Americans who fought there, during a mass. I don't mean that he was ungrateful - he was great - but it shows it is easy for all kinds of good people to forget or perhaps were never even aware of these events. All the best... David
My Dad should have been looked after here in UK but he was also the exact same as you Art, very difficult for the whole family to live with. I am so glad you got help and that you are now on the internet telling all about those terrible times.
God bless men like him.Thank You Mr Troness..People have no idea what these guys went through..Came home, Raised Families and went on with life. Great men.
