I've watched this movie so many times and it is a great tell of how things can turn ugly. Even though "Alex" was a deranged person, i kinda felt sorry for her. "Dan" could've easily turned her down the first time she made advances, but he didn't. He's a MAN!!!!
Why can't there be really good nail-biting drama-thriller's like this today? There aren't enough stars to give to this 80's classic. I was a Junior in HS when we went to see it,lol, i remember my friends sayin you gotta see it!!
Instead of killing the crazy bitch at the end so that Douglas can resume his happy life, maybe he should've learned to respect women and feel empathy for the suffering of others? Instead his self-centered narcissism was reinforced--ding dong the witch is dead and my wife is going to stay with me.. HOWEVER, the crazy lady boiling the bunny and stealing the daughter was indefensible!! But calling, meeting his wife, etc..that was all well deserved. Something more permanent should've happened to him
I always thought Bedingfield's voice was so creepy and menacing. This is a perfect fit. The line when he prays he'll die with her is so disturbing, almost as if he plans to murder the intended if they don't comply with his love/lust.
she should have had sex with him and never answeared his calls,he would have been the the one going crazy! ladies do I have to teach you everything? LOL but that's true! She was so seductive before having sex with me, and after sex she did all the wrong things a woman should never do! but his wife is so stupid, she deserved it! Go for it glenn! ;)
I remember seeing this movie for the first time when it came out and feeling such a sense of ...."oh my,I feel so sorry for her" (Alex ), she just wanted to be loved and when she could not let go and finds she is pregnant, it was doubly worse, no one wins in a situation like that, a movie like this should make everyone think twice before having an affair....2 wrongs don't make a right.
She definitely crazy. Probably very hurt. But insane. Michael Douglas' character really fucked up. He took advantage of her, not just physically, but emotionally. That made her snap. We can understand probably both of them, and though it is all tragic, the responsibility lies with the man for establishing an emotional connection he did not wish to pursue. Do, or do not. There is no try.
@hopkins4545 Yes, very true. Her behavior is unjustifiable. She is mentally sick. should have seen a shrink who maybe could have helped. She probably cannot consciously control herself.

Great vid. Love this film and I thought Close was amazing in it.
Always had a little bit of sympathy for Alex... at least pre bunny boiling... and this makes me really really bad for her.
Perfect song too.

Everytime I see Glenn Close, I think of the term 'bunny boiler'.

@jeystonemusic actually Glenn Close was totally beautifulin the early scenes, they made her look uglier as the film went along

Alex = mentally unstable, tragic woman who started to do horrible crimes and was, of course, brutally killed in the end.
