For those of you that dont see "disable vita chamber" in your options on xbox 360. I deleted the DLC and save files I had, cleared cache then downloaded DLC with different silver account loaded up the game on that gamer tag then logged out to my actual account while at Bioshock main menu. When I loaded up a new hard diff game the option was there. Took some serious sifting through forums to find an answer on fixing it figured Id pass it along.
u shouldve used crossbow, most powerful weapon, kills big daddy in like 8 or 10 hits, and kills fontaine in like 75 (all 3 times u fight him added together)
@paradiddle1001 I think he grew into adult into year was because of the enhancements Suchong did on him. When he left Rapture, the enhancements stopped so he stopped growing.
@paradiddle1001 Suchong designed it so it'd accelerate Jack's aging so he could essentially "skip" being a child (Suchong HATED kids, so win-win for him). Afterwords Jack ages normally. c:
@INEEDZALL go to system settings > memory > hard drive > Games > Bioshock > then scroll down until you find the 'Genetic Improvements from Ryan Inc.' downloaded content > delete it > then follow the other steps

I hate to be "that guy" but I just unlocked Brass Balls and it seemed REALLY easy. It took some time cause I was trying to get the 1100/1100 in one go. But everywhere I read, people were saying how hard Fontaine was so I was a bit nervous. But I just hit him with the electric gel after I drained him twice, had a bit left after the third time and finished him with rockets for the last time. And I tapped "B" to get health whenever the bots came out. It was really simple.
I got the Brass Balls worth 100g, Achievement yesterday (16.3.10). All you have to do is, go to options and turn on Disable Vita-Chambers. If that option is not there download the DLC at the marketplace which i think is free. After you turn Disable Vita-Chambers on then play through the game while saving every now and then, so when you die you just go back to that save and keep trying. Also a good way to defeat Atlas is use the ShotGun, Grenade Launcher and Chemical Thrower.
To defeat Fontaine i just used incinerate +3 shotty and frag grenades. just be acurate and take your time as you dodge his running. its pretty easy for a final boss!
no there is no achievement like papaanon said. dead samurai if u die with the vita chambers off it wont affect it it will put u back to the main menu and i got brass ball in 2 days and beat the final boss in like 3 minutes + didnt use one health pack add me if u want... masicus1234 its not even that hard
Easiest way to get brass balls in turn off vitae chamber, frequently save after every fight so you have a good reload and use camoflage to hide from security risks, took me about 7 hours to get brass balls this way but it worked!
As for the patch, it wasn't a patch
It's DLC go onto your hard drive and delete the dlc, glitch the ending
did you know that you can catch his fireballs, ice crystals, and electric balls? also, when that machine that shoots you comes out, use the security bullseye plasmid and throw it at him, so it only attacks him. also, when the splicers come in, enrage him, so he kills them all for you =)

There's a way to get Brass Balls without beating the game on hard! Here's how!
Play through the game on easy without dyingl. Then right before you hit Fontaine with the last needle (before the ending cinematic), pause the game and switch the Difficulty to Hard in Options. You'll get Brass Balls!
You CANNOT get the achievement if you have the downloaded plasmids like "Sonic Boom". There is a "glitch patch" that comes with the download making it impossible to get Brass Balls this way.
@1SUPERMARIOSUNSHINE "Seriously good at this" is where you beat the game on hard. "Brass Balls" is when you beat the game on hard and not use vita-chambers. its pretty much impossible since the patch came in

So, do I clear my cache and delete it? How could I make my file playable after deleting the DLC?

its really not that hard... just save every now and then, if you die, reload the last save, easy achievement, Atlas is much easier if you use the bot shutdown/healthstation nearby >>

Or on the second phase w/ all the bots you could hit him with the security bullseye and on the third phase hit the splicers with enrage while distracting them with the target decoy. Did that on Survivor mode and it made the battle really easy.

For those who don't know how to turn off vita chambers: (Xbox 360)
1.) make sure you downloaded the DLC for bioshock in Xbox Live
2.) the update will include an additional set of Plasmids, the "secret" Brass Balls achievement (making the achievements total to 51) and the Disable Vita Chambers in the option menu (it's the bottommost part)

This achievement isn't in my achievement list for this game. Yes, I have xbox live, and when I compare games with friends, this is available to them. But when I check my own achievements, it's out of 50, not 51. What do I do?
Oh... did we have to download that? I feel stupid now. But that's ok, I sold this game now. I already beat it on hard, and am only missing two achievements, but I'm done now. Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are coming up in a couple weeks and I have both of those reserved.
To Complete The Achievement You need To Have it Enabled just dont go Near the Vita-Chamber or Touch it or See it cuzz den u qotta start again.. i recomend you save after every level nd if u touch a vita chamber go to last save point
if anybody is having trouble of getting this achievement, im willing to glitch this for you so u dont have to waste ur time to get, ill do this glitch for 100-200 microsoft points
Here's a good little hint for you, play the entire game on easy, but when you get to the elevator to face fantaine, switch it to hard difficulty and you will get the achievments.

what the hell i need help, i got the title update but last nite i was playing and it said theat there was only 50 achievements instead of 51 (brass balls is missing) i haven't unlocked it yet, so if i beat the game on hard with the chamers turned off will i still get the achievement? and if i don't is there a way to load the update again manully?
Before the round started, I planted some proximity grenades, Cyclones, and lots of trap bolts, penning myself in to a small area directly in front of Fontaine's apparatus.
These precautions dealt with all the splicers and bots that showed up in round 2. I hammered Fontaine with electric gel, and finished him up with a couple of grenades. Probably took about 1.5 minutes all up, I guess.
Say that I die on hard difficulty and the vita-chambers ARE disabled, I save the game right before I die. When I die, I get sent back to the main menu, is it possible that I can reload the SAVED game, NOT the AUTO-SAVED game and still get the Brass Balls Achievement?
the best way to get brass balls is to get him to his last adam jar then pause options set the game to hard and turn off vita chambers im trying it now and well lets just wait for the result
Ok this goes with what I said below if your going to do this achievement you have to beat the game on hard without dying. You should save frequently in case you die you can just load up to your recent saved spot.

Hey, those of you struggling with the "Brass Balls" Achievement no worries. I beat the game 4 times in the last 2 months. Ya I know no life LOL, but hey I got all the achievements including this one which I got like 5 min. ago. Alright here's what you do.
1. If you haven't downloaded the content of Ryan's Industry new tonics from the market place do so.
2. In the options turn off the via chambers (have to download content to do this).

No shit?I heard shooting bolts of electricity from your arm and freezing enemies is unrealistic too. Also, he stabs him with the needle at a place in the thorax with no major blood vessels for adam. He should aim an inch above belly button for descending Aorta.
How the hell does your wrench do so much damage? I got wrench jockey 2 and reasearch damage (I still use the camrea) but it takes forever to kill leadheads!
I used a great strategy for killing this dude He was what you need full on Electric Gel, At least 13 electric buck at least 20 normal buck Filled up on frags and proximity. The first time you fight him use you bucks and avoid his attacks which is pretty easy just go let and right the second time use your frags on him if you run out use proximity and the last time use your electric gel and ignore all splicer. Electric gel stuns him and hurts him just hold on his chest he wont be able to hurt you
i did it 6 times.... the entire game beat on hard mode without dieing. it still hasnt given me the achievement. ive erased and redownloaded the content and it still wont give it to me.

if you cant turn off the vita chambers, do this....
delete the downloaded content from your memory.
sign out of your account, and sign into a different silver account.
download the content on the silver account.
sign out of silver and back into your original account
load the bioshock and start a new game.
check the options and 'turn off vita chambers' should be there

For those who don't know how to turn off vita chambers: (Xbox 360)
1.) make sure you downloaded the DLC for bioshock in Xbox Live
2.) the update will include an additional set of Plasmids, the "secret" Brass Balls achievement (making the achievements total to 51) and the Disable Vita Chambers in the option menu (it's the bottommost part)
3.) Turn on the Disable Vita Chambers option

Ahh cheers, i played the game through and never got it, I was pretty damn upset, but I did the download and loaded just before the fontaine fight, turned on the option and got my achievment, saved me a lot of heartache, cheeeers@!

This achievement isn't in my achievement list for this game. Yes, I have xbox live, and when I compare games with friends, this is available to them. But when I check my own achievements, it's out of 50, not 51. What do I do?

No. Some versions don't include the Brass Balls achievement. The Japanese and Korean version of Bioshock don't include Brass Balls :)
Check it on xbox360achievements if you don't believe me :P

Oh... did we have to download that? I feel stupid now. But that's ok, I sold this game now. I already beat it on hard, and am only missing two achievements, but I'm done now. Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are coming up in a couple weeks and I have both of those reserved.

To Complete The Achievement You need To Have it Enabled just dont go Near the Vita-Chamber or Touch it or See it cuzz den u qotta start again.. i recomend you save after every level nd if u touch a vita chamber go to last save point

Here's a good little hint for you, play the entire game on easy, but when you get to the elevator to face fantaine, switch it to hard difficulty and you will get the achievments.

I got this achievement today.
Before the round started, I planted some proximity grenades, Cyclones, and lots of trap bolts, penning myself in to a small area directly in front of Fontaine's apparatus.
These precautions dealt with all the splicers and bots that showed up in round 2. I hammered Fontaine with electric gel, and finished him up with a couple of grenades. Probably took about 1.5 minutes all up, I guess.

Say that I die on hard difficulty and the vita-chambers ARE disabled, I save the game right before I die. When I die, I get sent back to the main menu, is it possible that I can reload the SAVED game, NOT the AUTO-SAVED game and still get the Brass Balls Achievement?

Ok this goes with what I said below if your going to do this achievement you have to beat the game on hard without dying. You should save frequently in case you die you can just load up to your recent saved spot.

hey, to get the lucky winner achievement go to the place were you have to do tasks for Sander Cohen sorry dont no the name of area cause not on it right now lol and then there will be money slot machines and use your money on all different machines untill get this achievemnet and if you keep winning on one machine this means your close to getting the jackpot.

Hey, those of you struggling with the "Brass Balls" Achievement no worries. I beat the game 4 times in the last 2 months. Ya I know no life LOL, but hey I got all the achievements including this one which I got like 5 min. ago. Alright here's what you do.
1. If you haven't downloaded the content of Ryan's Industry new tonics from the market place do so.
2. In the options turn off the via chambers (have to download content to do this).
3. Beat the game on hard without dying.

No shit?I heard shooting bolts of electricity from your arm and freezing enemies is unrealistic too. Also, he stabs him with the needle at a place in the thorax with no major blood vessels for adam. He should aim an inch above belly button for descending Aorta.

I used a great strategy for killing this dude He was what you need full on Electric Gel, At least 13 electric buck at least 20 normal buck Filled up on frags and proximity. The first time you fight him use you bucks and avoid his attacks which is pretty easy just go let and right the second time use your frags on him if you run out use proximity and the last time use your electric gel and ignore all splicer. Electric gel stuns him and hurts him just hold on his chest he wont be able to hurt you
