Pinky...how ya doing? I simply love your videos.....I just caught the crocheting fever and have started to work on the beret tutorial you have......YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Thank you for taking the time to produce these videos, you have no idea how much this means too me.....Love and greetings from and avid fan......
I have been really into making hats, I want to design and crochet my own to sell on Etsy so I can stay at home with my son (I am a single mom) On average, how long does it take to make a hat? I know it will depend on my design and the size, but I need to know how much I have to clear my schedule for this. (time is limited) Thanks.
@Alearea that depends on how fast you crochet honestly. Some people work much faster than others and you will improve your speed as you go along. It will also depend on what kind of hat you are making at the time. It can be anywhere from an hour and a half to 6 hours or so. But I am in the process of making a website for people just like yourself who wish to go into the crochet business on your own. I will try to keep everyone posted when the site is up and ready! Peace
Hey Pinky2d4, love your work, i am a crocheter (beg/interm) and these hats are so soulful looking . . . I love it! i wish i could copy the pattern, the electric blue/looks like newsboy styl, that one is Hot!. I'll keep watchin, looking for to your tutorial.
Yes, I suppose you could, but along the way you may have to adjust for width etc. I say play with it a bit, that's how I come up with new things. There's no harm in trying to make a variation of your own. Just patience required :)
Thank you so very much, today i decided to take up crochet as a hobby and today under your direction i made my first project, a beret. I am so pleased, it came out great.
P2D4- Thank you so much for posting this. I have made 2 and already given away both of them. You are a great instructor, your directions were very clear and easy to understand. Thanks again!
Hi Pinky, thank you so much for this tutorial!! I love these hats & as many fly berets I've seen in the stores these past couple of weeks, I refused to buy a single one. For one, I thought they were overpriced & two, with me being so good with my hands, I thought, I can do that, & with your help I did! Lol, but seriously, you made the instructions very easy to understand and you spoke very cleary which I can appreciate. Anyway, thanx a lot Pinky, you saved me a couple of dollaz lol.
i was so persistant to figure this chrocheting thing out i was watching those other people but i cudnt get it till i saw yours i just finished my hat thanx t o you and this is only the begginnig thank u so much
Hi. Thanks for the video. I'm working on the hat now. The only problem I had was that i started to get wrinkles in the hat, so it does not lay smooth. I like it, but how can I avoid that in the future?
The hat will look somewhat like a bowl and will not lay totally flat at the top. If it's too bowled in, try making the stitches a bit more loose and see how that looks instead.
I'm using worsted weight 100% Acrylicyarn for this hat. Any brand will do but I used Vanna White for the pink, Caron perfect match for the brown and tlc essentials for the taupe. I get yarn from everywhere including ebay so it will be hard to find the exact brands. So any worsted weight yarn will work. Crochet hook size I

hey pinky my hat is kind of flimsy is this normal?
Kakerville 2 years ago
The strength or the "looseness" of the end product depends on how tight you crochet. Try making your stitches tighter and that should help next time.
