In that elevator section with all the Koopa Troopas, you can have one Koopa shell bounce back and forth, hitting the rest of the Koopas and giving you a 1-up.

Well you can do as many as you want with regular Mario too, it's just that baby Mario falls so slowly you can really change your direction and whatnot with them.

I THINK the quicksand things with Mario started in Super Mario Bros 2, correct me if im wrong, and Sonic The Hedgehog wasnt out when Super Mario Bros 2 came out.
