@mpca66 because the Vs are light sensitive. It's like shining stage lights into their eyes. (hence the bad marksmanship) that's also why they have the mirrors. helps to blind the Vs even more.

@dollra1230 The Visitors are light-sensitive, they did this during the day and used mirrors to screw with their ability to see. And they STILL took out several humans. Bad marksmen? They're a hell of a lot better than Stormtroopers, I'll tell you that much.
