I am a Leafs fan but I gotta say, Blackhawks are gonna own this year. Havlat, Seabrook, Barker, Toews, Kane(possibly), Samsanov, Lang, Sharp is not bad, Tuomo Ruutu is ok, Vrbata, Dave Bolland and Colin Frasor got potential and can be really good and Yanic Perreault to win faceoffs, their set for this year, only thing they gotta fix is goaltending, Nikolai Khabibulin aint gonna cut it.
the balckhawks will be better but its not like there going to destroy every team, right now they have a chance at making the playoffs barker, toews and kane are not going to be playing to their potential yet obviously lang is ok at best and ruutu and havlat both have huge injury concerns, khabibulin didnt do that bad last year considering the terrible team in front of him
YA I agree but I disagree with the Toews not playing up to potential, that kid plays well wherever he goes. World Championships he was playing against NHLers and did just amazing, I think infact Blackhawks shouldnt even have him, I expected him to go to Pitsburgh in that draft and Staal to go to the Hawks. I think he is better than Jordan Staal. I think he will top atleast 70 points this year, ah well we will just have to wait and see.

I don't think the problem was Khabibulin, I think our defense was just horrible last year, and when you got a captain like Adrian Aucoin being the captain not only for defense, but the whole team, it's really no surprise to me why Khabi went from an Stanley Cup Goaltender to a crap goalie with a sub 90% save percentage in 1 year. I think he'll do better this year no doubt.
I agree to an extent. Khabibulin is good. We need a good powerplay, and thats coming from one of the few hawks fans in the world. Hopefully with Kane and Toews the attendance will go way up.
