I agree that this guy was the biggest waste of talent in the NBA for his generation. He could do it but never had the ambition to be a legitimate star. I do think his progress was slowed tremendously by coaches playing him at the 3 instead of the 4. I think they were still fascinated with the idea of playing big lineups but this guy could've been a matchup nightmare like KG or Jermaine O'neal with his inside-outside game and length to defend at the position.
@twinkiefoot Agree. He could have been a match-up nightmare for every team. Imagine him being used as the 4 for pick-n-rolls with a good point guard. Unlimited range and also he's faster and more athletic than most power forwards in the league. Yet he averaged a pathetic 4 rebounds per game during his career with one of the greatest bodies in the NBA. Bill Simmons said it best: "he had made a bet with someone that he could play four quarters without ever crossing either 3-point line."
@LamarMatic He really seemed to find his stride playing with the Suns for those 26 games during the 2005-2006 season. Not only was he playing exclusively at the 4 spot but had one of the best point guards in Steve Nash that ran the pick and roll especially well. Had he not been so interested in chasing dollars and instead sought stability, he might have realized some of his potential for a season or two.
