Sorry but this electric Beetle will never get 100+ miles on a charge...it would have to have 90% of its curb weight consisting of batteries. Watch & listen for the news of this product...take note of the decreasing range as it gets closer & closer to production......Write it down so you can document the "re-evaluations" of the range.

Beautiful little car. Unfortunately, Volkswagen is legendary for not giving the North American market what they ask for, or what European markets get. People wanted a VR6 AWD New Beetle practically since the NB's introduction. It was teased at with concept cars and race cars by VW, but it never happened. Perhaps if Volkswagen would be a little less condescending and taunting, people would take their lovely concepts more seriously.

110 mile range with a recharge time of 35 minutes. I wouldn't buy that line, except this is a 'concept' car, so it will never have to prove it's claim. It can probably also cook a complete roast beef supper in the time it takes you to commute home, and convert sea water into Pepsi at 3 glasses/ minute.
