I can't wait to hear what the next excuse for "global warming" will be when there's a bunch of EV's in use and we still have regular summer temps in the 90's. Why the sudden urgency for going electric when the "cleanest" cars ever made are on the road?? FYI-- the more electric you use, the more demand there is on coal fired powerplants. Nice going.
@scatpack68 You don't think they'll have alternative energy sources in the future? You realize not all energy is based on coal. The cars on the road right now are like 10x more of a problem for air pollution than the coal factories should be.
@theoldkat sure we'll have other sources of future energy. Right now though, ev's haven't been perfected, but they're being pushed on a country that doesn't overwhelmingly want them nor can afford them. I know there's nuclear, wind, and solar, but currently a lot of electricity is being generated by coal and NG. The more demand on the grid, the more coal is burned. If brand new cars are big polluters, what should we use to transport schoolchildren, construction materials, and heavy goods?
@scatpack68 I think the most important reason to change is that combustion engine vehicles are straightly related to health of people - for example breathing the air in a indoor car park for 10 minutes is as big risk as smoking a sigarette. Maybe not harmful yet but what about people that use car parks daily? And the air of big cities is polluted and isn't fresh. Thats why theres a payment for going to city centre in many cities, for example in London.

And EV:s are lots of more power effecient.

Might as well put it on Donner Pass, cause you're going to starve to death or die of exposure waiting that long for your silly EV to charge.
