  • It's sad man.

  • I think ppl think that his dad raped him is a common mistake mainly cause of the title. I don't know the whole story or meaning behind the song but I don't wanna know, I wanna keep that mystery aspect behind an already powerful song.

  • This sounds nothing like Daddy though...

  • @sephmefo this was how the song was made on their 1993 demo "Neidermeyer's Mind"

  • Don't hate on Nirvana...

  • It was his neighbor

  • Comment removed

  • AWSOME footage. Rare for sure

  • @korndawg711 wait daddy wasn't made for his dad but for his neighbor??

  • @masjt nobody knows who really did it some say his dad,a neighbor, family friend, and his step mom the only people who really know is jon and the pice of shit who did this to him

  • @MrJonnyboy221 Jonathan and his FATHER HAVE A GREAT RELEATIONSHIP! Daddy is a reference to "Taking control over someone" he wasn't trying to say his DAD Raped him!!!!!

  • @MrJonnyboy221 John and Rick (Rick is John's dad) both said it wasn't Rick, It was a close family friend or a family member, that much is true but I think he named that song "daddy" because the person (the piece of shit rapist) was "like" a father to John and then did the worst thing imaginable to John, and also not too many people know this but in an old interview John and Rick said they wouldn't say who it was but they both said it was a woman.

  • @MrJonnyboy221JD has it on record that it was a family friend and it was women

  • @Chill197 a women raped i thought it was a man

  • @MrJonnyboy221 He has said himself what happened. It was his neighbor. He told his parents and they didnt believe him, they thought he was joking around and lying trying to get attention. What happens beyond that knowledge no-one knows ... we dont know .. if his dad beat him or anything we just know .. that he tried to get help from his parents about the matter and they wouldnt.

  • @masjt yep

  • I simply cannot live without this song. I love KoRn too much,

  • A good friend of mine saw 311 and korn around this time was it the same tour?

  • @tuktara wow that'd be a kick ass show, just add the deftones and itd be perfect

  • i hate that people talk shit about jon because of what happened 2 him and that he wrote this song especially for that reason. fuckin assholes, go piss somebody else off

  • god what id give to be there

  • do u slit your wrists to koRns daddy

becuase mommy took u off your prozak

  • hey fanboy pipe down

  • and obiously its not too personal becuase i myself a victim sexual abuse

and also bein male that every time i talk about even i cry

so obiously his cry on stage is gimmick

dont buy into tormented soul bullshit here

  • @akemoguy HAHAHAA U GOT FUCKED IN THE ASS BY DADDY? EZ?

  • @akemoguy Dont be a lill cry emo ;)

  • @Nordarock word

  • @akemoguy

you obviously don't know jonathan then because he doesn't fake it. he was sexually abused (by his neighbor not by his dad) for years and this song is called daddy because whenever he would try to tell his parents about what was going on they wouldn't believe him and so he had to live with this horrible secret for years and this song is getting all of that pain out. they don't perform daddy except for these early times because he can't take reliving that pain over and over again.

  • @korndawg711 Fuckin wah ive seen the interveiw where he talks abot it he wasnt brekin down cryin then

that cry on stage is bullshit

  • @akemoguy you anti-social piece of worthless shit, go live with rocks

  • Comment removed

  • @MintBerryCruuunch ohh u made me cry, ima go make up story now how i was ass raped

  • @akemoguy Oh comeon do you really think they were trying to make money? everyone has a friend who has been in a situation like jon this is something that happens way too often, pedophiles everywhere you can see it on the NEWS everynight! korns tackling issues that no band really ever has, respect it or go watch othere videos!

  • @gummoboy333 yeah, i actually do think its about money, a new dubstep album with skrillex, mmmhmm, or him insulting his old fans by saying there stuck in 1994, mhmmmmm, oh yes making music to rave too is tackling issues no band has ever dealt with never in the history of music, omg korn is fuckin god.

  • @akemoguy yeah well the insulting the fans was going a bit too far( But have you ever read some of the comments people leave on sites like Blabbermouth about korn?) its so juvenile its crazy...so I can respect his choice to slam the fans who are just stuck on the first few albums and basically have been calling korn posers and worthless since 1996!I think when JD said that he just meant those fans...and also im not really into the whole dubstep thing either...but they took a chance!

  • @gummoboy333 yeah they did take a chance,

  • dat cry isnt bullshit...u dont even know shit

  • @korndawg711 over again its like the penis went in his ass on stage

  • @akemoguy that's the idea, that's another reason why people respect this band so much!

  • why do people think this is ultimate sad fucked up metal song

does anybody listen to otep or anal cunt or canible corpse or whitechapel

seriously those bands sing and play 100x more fucked up then korns daddy

and they cry like little fags at the end of it

  • first time I heard this song I cryed a lot...

  • When the crowd was cheering at the end, I'm surprised Jon didn't yell "SHUT UP!!" I would have. It's fucked what happened to him. :'(

  • @Psycokinesis101 Jonathan performed this song knowing the possibility that they would cheer.......

  • @NefariousDreary I know, but still.

  • I "dislike his dad"

  • @XBOX360Dude1999 it's not about his dad

  • I bought Korn's debut when I was about 10 or 11... One of the first records I bought with my own money. I loved every single song on that album, and when this song came in at the end, I was fucking speechless. I've listened to some pretty disturbing music in my time since, [Pornogrind, Black Metal, Death Metal, Doom, etc.] But this song still gives me the fucking chills. Anyone who can't see the pure art and emotion in this song is a fucking asshole.

  • This is Jonathan is his earliest prime. Completely unscensored , unpolished, raw emotion.

His breakdown at 4:30 onward sends shivers down my spine. Especially because this is live!.

    Absolutely precious footage.

  • Jonathan is the man!

  • Odd. All these years I had thought this song was never once performed live. But I suppose in '93, there wasn't much material to pick from...

  • Strange ... What was happened in the end ? He was crying?

  • @MrsNaranja Yea. On the album version he breaks down and cries... for real. And theyve only played this song live a handful of time, and each time Jon cant handle it and loses is crying. Its too emotional of a song for him.

  • @chumsyalibumsy09 Thank you for your anserw but i was asking more about what was happened on the end of this video, because of bad quaility of this move i can't see anything ; It looks like John is sitting on the floor and crying and people started to whistle and screaming.

  • @MrsNaranja Ohh i see. Yea I cant really see Jon either so Im confused as well lol

  • Many of you may not know, the douche in the white hat jumping around was their drug dealer, Ball Tongue.

  • @chumsyalibumsy09 Really??

  • @SomeoneUnimportant96 Yessir indeed.

  • i actually heard they never played this live obviously heard wrong very cool to c this

  • So depressive show!!!

  • unreal

  • these people have no idea how special they are! what i'd give to be there!

  • Love the emotion. Best track on the album.. And thanks for the post, brah.

  • People seem to b confused as to what happened to Jd when he was a child. No man, not his dad, or any man, raped him. He ws molested as a child, by a woman who was a friend of the family. When Jd tried to tell his family, no one listened. Jd has gone on the record many times saying that his dad never touched him. His dad now knows who it was, but he and Jd are refusing to say who. If anyone thinks I am wrong, look it up. Read Jd's biography.

  • @REIREI29 so glad someone knows their shit!!

  • @kittydance8 I hate rumors about celebs. That's why I try not to believe things I hear, unless I hear it come straight from the celeb's mouth, or I know for sure I'm reading a legit interview, ya know? What happened to Jon is fucked the hell up. I can't even listen to this song without getting teary eyed. I haven't heard it in ten years.

  • but i have this cd that my father had for a long time that has the intro to the song daddy, then it turns to shoots and ladders... does anyone know the date and place of this??

  • 1 guy got raped

  • This is the only time they performed this song live because Jonathan said it was too emotional for him to perform it anymore.

  • @TheMorbiddreams I think they also played it once in either 94 or 95 also one time.

  • Since this was in 1993, it was the demo version from Neidermeyer's Mind. It's not the official song. After JD recorded the actual song, it was too emotional for him to perform live.

  • Funny, all claim to be the one and only performance of this song as lead by lore, but there is 3 of these recorded in 93. Some seem the same, but who knows. I wish this was put up with DVD quality. I'd love to have it. GREATEST. BAND. EVER. Change music more than Nirvana ever did.

  • @emtee40 lol no they didnt.

  • pobre jhon la puta que los parió

  • @DEATHMETALLLFREAK crying does not determine your sexuality nor does it make you an emo (emo on todays terms of what emo is). If you think Korn is a disgrace to metal why are you on a video of theirs? Fucking stupid ass troll. Get a better life. I hate Korn now because IMO they suck, but their first 4 albums were great.

  • @DEATHMETALLLFREAK please do the world a favor and get rapped by ur neighbor then sing about it live just do the world a favor and die in a hole

  • @DEATHMETALLLFREAK He got raped you inconsiderate prick. He was a child and got raped by a family friend. Learn the fucking facts before you go running your mouth.

  • @DEATHMETALLLFREAK

    successful troll is successful

  • You have no soul if you don't want to cry when you hear this song.

  • @KoRnographer69 Your correct. It was a woman.

  • check out ball tongue jumpin up n down

  • I got the first album around 96 and it was definitly the sickest shit I've ever heard before but this song..man raped my mind I've never heard something like this before and you'll never find anything like that again.Korn 4ever

  • @Chico116 actually Otep which is a chick metal band has song thats even more disturbing than this

  • @torturedpoets whats it called?

  • wow i thought he never did this song live?

  • @PsychoBurgundy2 i think its a "he"

  • I feel so sorry for the poor guy

  • Can't hear this song without crying... daddy is such an emotionally wrenching song.

  • this is a demo version

    but sound fucking awesome!

  • WOW....How the heck did you get ur hands on this Vid??

  • @PsychoBurgundy2 agreed 100%

  • Korn -daddy what a deep song

i love my dad but Fuck you for everytime screaming at me made me feel like shit

  • Korn-daddy what a deep song

i love my dad but Fuck you dad for everytime screaming at me

  • poor jon. i cried the first time i listened to this song. but if he ddnt go through all the b.s that he went through, then there woold be no real jonathan davis. no KoRn. nothing to learn from. thank you jon for beein who you are, and having the heart that you do. iv learned so many life lessons from you. i wooldnt be alive today if it wast for you. so thank you for beein you.

  • ..i luv reading some stuff people who have not been a fan of korn since the first album write..

  • this song isnt about jons father raping him, its about another man raping him, he told his father, but he didnt believe him.

  • @suckmynose000 it was a woman. but your right about the other part.

  • johnatan's father was a fucking asshole. How father could raped son?! Jon I'm so sorry.

  • @Delorean997 he wasnt raped by his dad he was sexualy abused by a family friend who was a woman

  • @tuckisgod why is he complaining then if a woman touched him? lol

  • @ToOlOGT22 Thats What Im Thinking :O !

  • @ToOlOGT22 cause when you dont know about sex or are to young to have sex you dont have sex, and you wait till you are ready! I kinda understand what your saying cause from a guys perspective its different, but if a guy trys to get with a 10 yr old girl they get the dicks cut off, go figure lol!

  • @Delorean997 His father didn't do it... He was molested by a family friend, that was a woman... I am not sure how the songs lyrics pertain to that... but he has publicly said, on multiple occasions, that he was sexually assaulted as a child, but it was not his father and it was a woman.

  • @TheDolfan2010 Because he told his father and he didn't believe him. Basically, it was a metaphor because by not believing his son, he allowed the abuse to continue, so it was like he was raping Jon himself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Delorean997 Jon wasn't raped by his dad. Daddy is a reference to "Taking control over someone" "Being there Daddy" Jon and his father have a GREAT relationship, always have!

  • i think that the crowd don´t now why jon strats crying in the end that´s just my opinion.

    KORN FOR LIFE

  • Most intense song ever

  • I heard this song a few minutes ago for the first time and I am in love with it. Jonathan's sobbing makes it so... surreal..

  • omg i felt so sad

  • It's like a major cry of sadness...

I want to cry when I hear him wailing on stage. It's needles in my ears. I want to help, but I can't. The damage had been done...

  • This is definitely the first and only time they played this live because it makes JD relive his childhood which was obvious traumatic. As for the lyrics being different, being the first time playing it live, in the moment singing and not remembering lyrics 100% is just because the song is so new to them live. It happens with other live songs they played when first introduced that arent singles

  • It's actually the demo version, not the studio version on the self-titled record.

  • Is this different from the album version? It seems like he is saying ALOT of different words...like not even the same song.

  • ya well, its the neydermeyer's mind version.

  • because in the beginning it says "i will be your daddy"

so he is saying it as if it was to his pretend daddy

  • @Sirduckly

It means "daddy" like in the phrase "I'll be your daddy", meaning a person dominating someone, sorry if that was poorly worded, I'm not very good at explaining stuff like that.

  • uhm no, they played this song alot and stopped after their first album was released. they mustve played at least 20 or 30 shows before they were signed. shitty that theres only 2 shows from 1993 on youtube and only one featuring daddy.

in this video they dished it out like it was nothing they mustve played it alot

  • The first and last perfomance of "Daddy"

  • @yopyopkid

Not true. This was performed 3 times

  • proof?

  • In Fieldy's book, he said they only performed it once because it was to emotionally staining for Jonathan.

  • It's very true. In Fieldy's book, he said they only performed it once because it was to emotionally staining for Jonathan. like I said down there.

  • @yopyopkid

Yeah, but in the Who Then Now? dvd, they show a clip from their 3. show. You can see Jonathan lying on the floor, crying.

If they played the song on their 3. show, then why wouldn't they do it on their first two shows?

  • Well because they thought they would try it out and see if Jon could make it through the song without crying his ass off like he did on the album.

  • jon is my hero! i heard from somewhere or someone that in the album version of this song when he's like screaming and crying, he's actually crying cause the thoughts of the fucked up shit still effects him

  • you heard correctly, i fell so sorry for Jon

  • @Rockgod7321 yea on the album that is really him breaking down, you can buy the "duece" dvd that has the first DVD also, "who then now" you actually see it, it's really heartbreaking, I started crying while watching.

  • @Maggotsicforlife do you kno why he wrote thiss song dude??? he wrote the song Daddy becuz his parentz alwayz thought ov 'em as a liar and a worthless nothin' and then one day when he was home alone his nabor mulested 'em and he told his parentz about it but they never believed 'em and they never did believe 'em about that so that's the reason why he wrote thiss song

  • @Maggotsicforlife Well obviously, thats why he's upset while recording his vocals.

  • @Maggotsicforlife same.and i no wen i sing korn songs i put emotion...but no one can get tht far on emotion on this song cuz no one faced wat JD did

  • :'( poor jon, i wanna hug him...

  • you gotta respect how much of himself goes into his songs that he relives his life everytime he sings it

  • This was the music.

    Not boring metalcore or smth.

  • I know fucking metalcore mainstream stupid .....stupid

  • hey, metalcore is good - converge? Protest the hero??

  • the crowds really supports him even whilst hes crying - long live korn - theyre a pretty decent band

  • Decent? ............Amazing!

  • I think it's crazy how the crowd comes to a stop.

  • Korn Foar evur

  • good post - you should see john davies perform 'kill you' in the studio ( off their second album ). It's a trainwreck much like this performance. The guy ends up in floods of tears

  • KoRn is bad ass the best

  • wow this was the only time they played this live

  • No, they played it at all their shows before they had a record that was sold in stores. Because Jonathan was a trainwreck up after singing "Daddy", they never sang the studio version live.

  • i dont know about that, but if thats true then that kinda ruins the whole thing for me.

  • @RampinUp46 he actually said that he had only done it once, he couldn't make it through the song. Kinda don't blame him! I couldn't do it either.

  • it sounds like on sum words he changed the word like the chores iz diff wht?????

  • i think this is in there days before their album, so some words may be different

  • yeahh this is a demo version before they release the first album, fuckkk this is so fuckin old and rare, thx 2 the dude that upload this video, really i havent see this before

  • @yayglitterbabyyay yeah this is the version from the Neirdermeyers mind demo tape they did in 93

  • @yayglitterbabyyay This is the Niedermeyers Mind version of KoRn. They changed a few things for the album version with Ross Robinson.

  • for those who dont kno y this song is very rarely played is because this is based on the singers real life and he breaks in tears normally when he sings this

  • @SuperShadowXr "If we do this song at every concert, the meaning of this song will get lost.. ' -JD
