oh please tell this isn't one of those productions were the musics are sang in the original version and the dialogues are translated....because what's the use of having great performances if the audience can't understand the message or follow the story?

I went to a "Fame" production once (the show had a lot of publicity in the media, so i decided to give it a try..) and the musics were sang in English, by the end of the show half the audience had already left the theater.

@francost well i know that...you're right, i guess it was clear in my comment. But it only makes it "worse", don't you think?. An all-english-singing production to a spanish-speaking audience? It's such a great musical, and there is a risk that the audience wouldn't fully apreciate it because of the language.Don't get me wrong, i'm not a hater, i do think this one of best performances of this song i've seen around youtube.

@jottamartins Your comments are irrelevant and uninformed. 1) This was performed to sold out audiences, and no-one left the theater until the show was over. 2) This is a rock opera, which by definition has no spoken parts. 3) Most of the audience was bilingual, and those that weren't were happy to see a show in its original language. 4) These pieces are often times performed in their original language anyway. 4) Your'e not a hater, no, you are just slightly thick.

Beautiful emotional performance. She IS a bit sharp in that phrase but it does not really matter. Its only site reading musos who care about that kind of thing. Its the feel that counts!

She has a nice voice but she needs to practice more to hit the the top note accurately (she's a bit all over the place when she sings "I never though I'll come to this").

Elliman (original actress in the movie) was also stretching to hit that high note but she did hit it every time and the way her voice changed as she struggled to hit that note actually completmented the mood of the song.

Personally, I couldn't agree with you less. I don't hear a stretching in any moment... The song flows and i think that the emotions are connected with her voice at all times, not only in perfect pitch but also a moving performance... The top note is a high C... it is clear that she can reach much higher...

It's not how high a note you can reach in absolute terms (lots of people can hit those higher notes) but rather it's how high you can get from where you begin the phrase.

Frankly, that's a very difficult section to sing and she struggles to get to that note.

Please... be more specific, what note/word precisely are we talking about? She sings twice "I never thought I'd come to this"... I'm just curious, I consider to recognize a flat or a sharp note and I just can't hear it... And I don't hear tension or "stretching" in her voice at any time either... I could be wrong, but the other 40 comments seem to agree with me here
