Ha! System of a down were schooled by Patton fools. Patton is a genius.
That, is all there is to say. No one has come close to releasing as much influencial and experimental music in the 90's as him. Bungle, Tomahawk, Faith no more!, Fantomas the list goes on. No one comes close.
it's pretty clear that mr bungle influenced system of a down. but they don't sound much alike. i don't have a problem with system of a down, they are no bungle but they are certainly better than the other "nu metal" bands.
anyways, why the fuck are people bringing up other bands when listening to bungle?
wow. the coverage called it 'Travolta' like it should be! Is Patton a man posessed by a Demon, or a Demon posessed by Patton? he's clearly not human, either way.
Any real musician who listens to this HAS to appreciate the musicality of it. Like them or not, they take music to MANY different corners. It's amazing how they take it from loud/full to laid back with all these complex poly-rhythms going on. Zappa would be proud. You gotta remember that MB is a fusion of Paddon's metal background and John Zorn's Avant Garde jazz.
To all who have denounced me for stating an opinion based on this live recording, kiss my ass. I made the comment before actually listening to any of this bands recorded material. In my defense, this is not their best live performance, nor their best live song. This video does not do them justice. Having listened to it on record, as well as other performances, I know have a profound respect for them as musicians. This particular video is just bad. Fuck you and the horses you rode in on
@davejago Yeah, wtf, System of a down took influence from them, not the other way around. And if you want proof, listen to the bridge of Needles by System of a down during a live performance, PURE bungle influence
@Idkfawin32 i also remember them saying they were'nt intrested in working/Collaborating with any one but retracked their comment and saying Patton only PATTON. so their. eat my balls wait dont eat em taste em lo lnot you idkfawin ur koo

I've got it! These guys are what happens when you take System of a Down, subtract the music, and multiply the crazy by 2. Great performers, but not so great musicians they are.
I personally think System of a Down is pretty good live, but the "music" performed by this band is just too incoherent to actually make me see them as musicians. Especially this song, just sounds like they hit random notes while the vocalist screams his head off. The play a good show, but that wont make me like their music any more
I official love Patton.
