  • Magnificently effective dynamics!

  • What a warm and musical sound. Sopranos somewhat flat at times.

  • Beautifully done! The Taiwanese seem to have combined the best of hard work and discipline from Mainland China with the creativity of the U.S. in so many endeavors. I love Taiwan! (from an Iowan)

  • really beautiful, great diction on this difficult piece as well! this is one of my favorite choral pieces and you sing it very musically!

  • Your English is fabulous. Great job. And lovely musicality.

  • I have performed this as a soloist and as a chorister and also conducted a youth choir singing Barber's masterpiece. This is one of the most musical performances I have heard. The conductor has done an excellent job with the choir's sound (esp. pure vowels) and with their musicality. The dynamics (esp. crescendos and decrescendos) are excellent. Well done!

  • This is a beautiful arrangement, but personally i like Morten Lauridsen's much better

  • Chills.

  • Marvellous to hear - and to watch!

  • It is easy to see that the choir director truly loves this piece of music. And she has done a fine job in bringing out the best in her people.

  • Beautiful ,Thumbs up if agreed

  • beautiful sound :) i love it!

  • Great sound, but I don't like the tempo at all

  • our choir does the SA version, so it's nice to hear tenor and bass in it too. very nice :)

  • By far, this is the best one I've seen because it follows how the chorus is actually written :D

  • Great diction, great voices! One of my favorites.

  • 感谢您对美丽的歌声。我把我的博客合唱团高雄。choirbragblog choirbragblog (dot) wordpress (dot) com/high-school-satb/请告诉我们你合唱团更多。杰克Senzig,的吉福德儿童合唱团总监

  • Beautifull.

What a large feel in their voices.

I heard this song many different but never with the soul like this thanks

  • I miss you so much, conductor Wong.

  • Beautiful. I know Barber's 'Knoxville' and 'Summer Music', but you have acquainted me with this song, many thanks.

  • it's good, but I don't like how they sped up the tempo. it's SOOO much more dramatic when the tempo is a little more drawn out. it felt to quick and almost emotionless through the whole beginning. But they have really good counting and pitch. it's actually sort of rare to find a choir that doesn't sing flat. well done:)

  • Beautiful. And this isnt even an english school right? I did this song for Tri-county in my state. It sounds great!

  • good conducting. I want to find the sheetmusic.

  • IM doing this as a solo in my school :D I hope I'm as good.

  • wow brilliantly done.Fantastic idea

  • I heard many variations of this " Sure on This Shining Night" , but This is the absolut best of all.

    Thank you

  • Wow - beautiful - thankyou!

  • Where can I find an mp3 of this? Simply stunning!

  • Wonderful.

  • Love love loved it! Oh my goodness, truly beautiful

  • Very very lovely and highly expressive.

I love the joy on the directors face..

  • There's an old conductor's saying: "What THEY see is what YOU get"

  • i like this saying and its true if you as the singer cannot feel it neither can the audience even if they know it

  • Can you please explain this saying to me in more detail? I am really intrigued, but with Youtube's typical inability to categorize responses and posts together, I am unsure what this was in reference to. However it seems like a saying I could benefit from as a performer....

  • What saying is that? [If you post with the 'reply' buttin your comment gets attached to the original]

  • Wow--This is the first choral YouTube video that has left me stunned. Absolutely lovely.

  • Beautiful. Both versions. I am learning the other version with my college choir currently. Excellent pronunciation. Can hardly tell the choir is Taiwanese!

  • Oh gee! I think that i cried! Absolutely lovely!

  • So beautiful, what a treasure to find. Brings back such wonderful memories. Thank you!

  • Beautiful - thank you

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!magical

  • excelent

  • wow I never heard the choral version before, but I like it just as much as it sung solo

  • By far the best version of this song I've heard on youtube performed by a choir. There doesn't even seem to be a language barrier! Well done, excellent.

  • Thank you very lovely

  • Excuse me! - my fault, I should check it before my comment. But your voices were so sweet...

    and I forgot.

  • Tears are in my eyes when I hear this song.

It's beautiful, Spring is coming , live is blooming... You are wonderful, my japanese friends. Greetings from Koszalin/Poland

  • Thank you so much for your comments. But, we are Taiwanese.

  • @kaohsiungchamber LMAO aha idk i just found that funny. great video though i get chills everytime i hear this wonderful piece of music .

  • @zbig57 I"m coming to Krakow in september. Got any suggestions as to hotels? thanks.

  • Oh my god.....I sang this song for my Governor's Honors Program audition. I find out if I got in in a month. It's such a wonderful song, but it makes me crazy every time I hear it because I'm so nervous. This choir does a fantastic job with any language it comes across! Keep up the good work!

  • I'm totally singing this, probably for a recorded BYU audition (assuming I didn't get in in my January audition), and it is a gorgeous piece; and this is a lovely choir! Samuel Barber + my soul => exceedingly great joy.

  • This is a hard piece to perform, it is a little too fast at times thought!

  • The Barber version is so much more difficult to sing, I think. They do a wonderful job here, wish the sound was a little better.

  • Gorgeous performance!! It's so nice to hear the choral version of this song for a change.

  • This is not the Morten Lauridsen version. This is Samuel Barber's.
