The house was leveled in 1870 by the 6th Marquess of Ely. It was rebuilt in 1872. The story here relates to the home that no longer exists. This tale was suppose to have happened about 1751. Henry Loftus renovated the home in 1783, the same year he died. Charles Tottenham inherited it that year, and became Baron Charles Loftus in 1785. He accended to Earl, Viscount and finally the 1st Marquess of Ely in 1801. The 2nd Marquess moved back to Loftus Hall in 1837, having sold Rathfarnham Castle.
I watched the documentary video, and it was so badly done it was laughable. There's supposed to be an underground tunnel that can get you inside basement. There was a caravan out the back not so long ago. Bono was supposed to have bought the place. My bollix !!!!!!!!!!
Was this a joke? Why not make a documentary style movie rather than trying to be all bullshit hollywood style.Terrible.I hope your actually trying to keep this ''movie'' factual, instead of adding unwanted bullshit fiction.
Would you class Satan flying through the roof of a 17th Century building in rural Ireland as factual? And the documentary's already done and dusted since 1993, time for something new. Brand new trailer for Loftus Hall now playing exclusively with screenings of 'THE SHAKEN 3' featuring first-look footage from the film!
Nice video. Click on my name ("Openthebluetrapdoor") to see what REALLY happened at Loftus Hall, all those years ago....creepy. Do NOT click if you are watching this alone at night !
is this just a clip of this fellas film or something would love to c more..is is it jst a part of the film thats made about it and does any1 know where i would get that film wb..
a freind of mine use talk to that old woman she said the place was grand she was sad she had to leae 4an old folks home..got nearly 1.5million euros for that house didnt they was only down around it 2monyhs ago or dat some place tho
living near loftus hall all my life and never seen or heard anything well its sold to new owners now ,, there used to be an old woman living there takin care of the place and she saw notin its a old folks tale it was hit by lighting ,, but it would be nice to spend the nite to see xxxxx
Was only down there yesterday. Can't go over to the house now - was more interested in the nearby lighthouse. Wonder why the whole place is locked up though? Owned by the Deveraux family...
I'm a film maker myself, and i love the idea of a Loftus Hall film, i live near the hall myself. However, the trailer represents the film as a bloody, zombie slasher movie, i don't like the style, audience's don't need 'red' to be afraid, think cold, for instance 'the others' (starring nicole kidman) was a global success without blood, . I expect a rural big building with fog, set in days without electricity, dark, depressing.
I want a copy of Loftus Hall-- maybe not everyone knows that the original Redmond Hall, later Loftus Hall, was built in the 12th century by Sir Alexander FitzRedmond.
There is a long and interesting history there. The castle of Redmond Hall was beseiged by Cromwell in 1642 and 1649 when it finally fell. The Redmonds were evicted.
Thank you for bringing attention to Loftus Hall-- it's a fascinating place, even from a distance.
Hey cool, was chatting to someone about this today and I said I'd bang 'Loftus Hall' into Youtube and see what popped up... Looks good - Can I be in it!!??
Wow, if it took 340 years to make it will probably be pretty good, Lord of The Rings only took two or three.
freaky place... something about hookhead that gives me the creeps. walked up to the house not so long ago and had a look around back, alomost shit a brick... then i heard my grandmother stayed there when it was a hotel, lol
haha my dad played the butler Rick Whelan's version of the film that was aired on RTE in 1993! They stayed in Loftus Hall & he said creepy stuff happened to their equipment but I think he was only tryin to scare us! haha can I have a part too!!! hehehe oh & best of luck with the film!!!

1760 is only 240 odd years ago.
horsebox21 4 years ago
The story starts in 1666 when the house and land came under the possession of the Loftus family.
The original version of this trailer was first shown in 2006, making it 340 years since the end of Redmond Hall and the beginning of Loftus Hall.
