  • Anyone know how to download LOTR onto the computer?

  • So freakin good. The LOTR movies are amazing.

  • this song talk about drugs

  • GOD this woman has a depressing voice

  • That is the beauty of the song, though...

  • One of the few good things LotR ever produced:p

  • omfgg clueless41 wtf u on who is gollum ar u thick omg hes mint you really do need to get up to date and watch lord of the rings and this song is awesome!!! :) xx

  • the first time i heard this song...it was so haunting, yet so beautiful

  • This song is amazing and the lyrics are very touching. Gollum is an amazing character in LOTR

  • i am SO ticked that i couldn't find this on itunes...

  • My fave from the soundtrack. Sung beutifully with truly touching lyrics.

  • i had no idea it was emiliana...small world

  • emiliana torrini is one of the reasons I feel proud to be an icelander :) she's awesome ;)

  • Awesome that Emiliana sung in Lord of the Rings!

  • WHo's Gollum exactly?

  • Actually nvm.

  • WHAAAAAT???? Hsve you been travelling in a satellite for the past 10 years? welcome to planet earth now go watch the Lord of the Rings.

  • This song gives me the creeps, makes me sad and feel sorry for Gollum.

  • Beautiful

  • Finally I've found this video!!!!!!!

    Thank you for posted it

  • cool im learning this on cello

  • I feel really sorry for gollum after hearing this song.. kind of makes you understand why he is who he is

love this music and are a really big fan of everything that has to do whit Lord of the Rings

  • sounds like a bond theme song. ;)

  • ...what?

  • I never thought about Bjork with this song. Hmm...strange...

  • i think there's a certain resemblance.. probably the accent gives it away.

  • Yeah, I guess it'd be the accent. Bjork is probably the only singer most people know with a voice that ways. (Outside of her own country, of course)

  • this isn't Björk :).

  • We know...that's what we were talking about. lol XD

  • wow, sorry, I misunderstood haha, I'm a fool :(.

  • Don't sweat it. =]

  • Love The Lord Of The Rings AND this song. :)

  • Lol I R Sad when she says "No loyal friends was ever their for me" :'( I felt sorry for gollum in the hobbit when they talk about him being lonely.

  • Haunting!!

  • ooh pore Gollum =( , But i think Björk never would sing it better than Emiliana.

  • Of course people compare Emilia and Björk.. They may sing different kinds of songs, but it's their voices that resemble each other a lot.

And please understand that 'resemble a lot' does NOT mean '100% undoubtably identical'

  • Stop comparing her to Björk, they dont even sing similar songs. Im probably sure that Björk was chosen first because shes more famous and thats it.

  • I looooooove Bjork but this is Emiliana´s song. It´s just stupid to compare. Just stupid. They are both wonderful.

  • esta cancion es increible, es perfecta para gollum xq capta su oscuridad y tristeza, la voz de torrini te deja temblando

  • Goddamit why can't people talk about Emiliana Torrini without mentioning Bjork? They're from the same country, that's it. Would you like it if Americans compared every British singer to the Beatles? Treat people as individuals.

  • people are comparing them because bjork was orinaly meant to sing the song but had to pull out due to her pregnancy.

  • what a voice!

  • uta morí................. excelente!!

  • I love this song...

  • fuarcking RU IT!

  • i disagree i think the softness of her voice makes it more haunting

  • Aún ando impresionado con la voz de la cantante. Captó por completo el sentido de quién es Gollum, su soledad, su dolor, su ira, su gran miedo. Excelente interpretación.

  • i love this song its so haunting and emotive !

  • Thanks 4 Emi.

  • uuuh..

sounds alot like björk.. But sexier singer #00

(Hopefully they stop playing jungle drum in radio)

  • Björk was originally supposed to sing this song but turned it down due to her pregnancy i wonder how she would do this...probably the same way but more...Björk hahaha but still a beautiful song =D

  • Yeah, I think Bjork would have done it better! She has more of a raw edge to her voice that would make the song more powerful I think. Emiliana is more sweet sounding.

  • i agrre that bjork would have been amazing!

  • her voice and way of singing is in a way the same as bjork.

  • she doesnt have the power and rawness of bjork, a bit of a gentler imitation.

  • after hearing to emiliana`s other songs, i wouldn`t say its an imitation.

  • i don't mean emiliana is an imitation of bjork overall i mean she sings this song like bjork but bjork would have been more raw and powerful had she sung it.

i hope bjork sings for the hobbit film.

  • theres gonna be a film on hobbit??...

  • yes there will be two with the first expected in 2011

  • I´m afraid the only thing they have in common is an icelandic accent. Nothing else suggests that she was trying to sing like Björk...

  • The whole point of this somg is the melancholic view through Gollum's eyes. Raw and powerful would have been out of place, which rather renders any reference to Bjork as pointless. Yes, Bjork was originally slated to sing this song but it's so much better that she didn't.

  • in places it would have been good, theres no doubt bjork would have been better thats why she was first chice :P

  • perfect voice, love it

  • Emilian alltaf jafn flott

  • Her voice is so perferfet for this song!

  • the lyrics are telling about smeagol/gollum's life

  • myyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

    preeeeeecioussssssss...

    great song...

    5*****

    CHEERS...

  • muchly beautiful

  • i didnt know she did this song!

now i love lotr even MORE!

  • Hermosisima canción.

  • She have a beautiful Voice and this song is... I can`t describe it! 5 stars

  • Yeah, Emiliana has a more interesting voice than Bjork...

  • I don´t agree

  • Emiliana has a much more interesting voice than BJORK? are you KIDDING ME? :/

Are you sure you didn't make a typo? Bjork's voice is absolutely unparalleled.

  • beautifull and haunting. it's my favourite

  • Bjork was meant to do this song originally, but she had to drop out due to pregnancy.

... personally i think Emiliana did the best it could of ever done.

  • she sounds like Bjork...!

  • yeahh.. and i think she kinda sounds like the singer of lamb..

  • you mean lou rhodes.

  • hell yeah. you know it can aslo be edited so it's about a rleationship. I thik Epai of AFter Forever or Evanescne shoudl do a cover.

  • this song reminds me so much about the two towers, me and my wife seen this(the two towers) in the theatre and something stuck with me. the vocals are just haunting.

  • All's nice,all's cool.What a ward"Hwo the fuck".I'll also downrate you!!

  • Beautiful (':

  • so beautiful, haunting

  • For me, it was always that he became the great tragic figure of The Lord of the Rings. He was so close to redemption... and in the end kinda got it by Falling, literally and metaphorically.

  • musique magnifique pour une trilogie qui l'est tout autant!!!!!

  • this song really reminds me of the battle of Helms Deep. It is so sad but you sort of automaticly feel bad for gollum. Think of all he went through. It also remids me of the elves. It is so sad they have to leave! I cried! I love lotr! It sort of reminds me of Legolas. He is my fav character! Anyways, I love the song. *Kayla*

  • I love this song! When I'm listen to it, I can see the movie in my imagination...

  • Reglesfille, thanks for uploading/making this!

  • a story of Smeagol/ Gollum's life

  • my faf song in LOTR

  • great song

  • no matter how bad Smeagol seems you can't really help but feel for him. i wanted him to get better. but maybe in the end it was best that he got to be with his precious.

  • a sad song for a sad being

  • It's haunting to hear this sung by her.

  • Heartbreaking, really.

  • the song wasnt done...

  • a beautiful and intriguing voice!

the vid and melody are excellent too! >=)

  • brilliant, beauitful video lovely voice

  • beautiful. absolutely beautiful. goes deep inside me

  • The lyrics to this song is absolutely haunting. I've always enjoyed this song, but I've never acually paid enough attention tho what she is singing. Wow! is all I can say, Fran Walsh just nailed it so perfectly, it's amazing how much the lyrics resonate to Gollum, I'm acually having chills by just reading the lyrics... amazing.

  • I'm having trouble understanding what certain lyrics have to do with Gollum. Who's perspective if this song from? Is it from Gollum's perspective, or is it someone else singing about Gollum?

  • As I see it, it's Gollums/Smeagols 2 personas that are singing the lyrics. Whe he says "For all the lies

    You told us

    The hurt

the blame" he is reffering to the ring, and "We" is ofc his both personalities

The first part of the song is Smeagol's part, where he is feeling sorry for himself, and that he was indeed trying to resist the ring In the second part, Gollum has taken over and is tightening his hold by bashing Smeagol and saying things like "Now we say - goodbye

We say - you didn't try"

  • It makes more sense now. Thank you.

  • Give thanks, especially, to Fran Walsh.

  • (:

    this song is legendary!

    x

  • This song, at the end of LOTR:TTT was what brought the movie back to what I remember how I felt reading the books. The shear loneliness, misery and utter dread from the book was missing. No fault to PJackson, cuz if he tried to do it, the movies would have been 12 hrs long each!!

This song is so gut wrenchingly sad, everytime I hear it it makes me shiver with goosebumps and I feel like Im going to cry.

Thanks for posting it, and also the lyrics in the more info area!! Thank you!! 5*'s!!

  • No one else could have sung this song, and the melody and lyrics are just perfect.

  • This song always makes me cry! Her voice is so awesome!

  • her voice is spooky....

  • i am so proud to be from iceland right now :)

emiliana torrini is awesome. and so is björk.

  • you lucky icelanders :P

  • I thought i was björk too

but i guess a have one more female singer favorite

  • my fav song in the world

  • Oh! I just love this song! It's totally amazing!

  • Emiliana sounds like bjork(awesome)when she sings because she is from iceland!Thats the accent coming through. If you can check out the icelandic accent, its the most cute(only way to describe it)accent!Heima a film by sigur ros is recommended ,listen to the accents of the girls from amiina!trust me it makes you go gooey!emiliana is brilliant, heartstopper is also a great song(and clip).

  • such a beautiful song. but so sad.

  • Sounds like shes got a lot of a Bjork influance. Weird

  • I love this song it's just so amazing i find it so beautiful!

  • I just found out Emilíana Torrini was the name of the singer I saw in a concert in Seattle 2001 (just found the paper) with Travis and Dido. She sounded like Bjork but I couldn't remember her name until I found the paper. Glad to see she has done as well as I hoped she would. She was third on the bill but as good as the other two acts - and that's saying something!

  • Bjork was slated to do this song, but couldn't because of complications with her pregnancy, so she suggested Emiliana for the part. She is also from Iceland and a terrific choice for this song!

  • it's freaking 1 am....sounds terrifying even on crappy speakers.....brilliant song..

  • She has a coolly seductive voice.

  • Emiliana is simply amazing. She would no doubt be my favorite singer, if it weren't for a certain Ms. Gibbons from Portishead...

  • Yeah she is amazing isn't she? I got really mad when Howard shores had this bogus song on itunes with this totally sucky singer, she was really not so good compared to Emilian Torrini.

  • The Best Song of the Trilogy, it reminds me the golden age of Trip-hop, especially "All mine" by Portishead. . .

  • chills and goosebumps...

  • I LUV IT!

  • wow, fantastic voice she has got... I love the lord of the rings, such a beautiful movie<3

  • Wonderfull song!

its kind of got a lonly and hopeless tune to it

  • i rewatched the credits 4 times to listen to this song. so gothic - shivers right down your spine. love it.

  • Gollum...Smeagol..*tear in eye*

  • this is my altime favorite, it's so sad!! i felt really bad for gollum. he wasn't evil, but lost. we was once good, but then the ring turned him, his goodness was then overcasted with evil, greed and anger. so sad

  • simply AMAZING

  • Beaaaautifull voice... and The Lord Of The Rings is the best story of the twentieth century... and maybe ever.... LoveYaLOTR

  • long live gollum

  • So beautiful yet sad :(

    Poor Gollum/Smeagol

  • She's an amazing artist.

  • She reminds me of Doris Day a little bit.

  • Emiliana did a good job on this master piece!

This song is brilliant and her voice very beautiful

  • This song is very haunting and powerful.

  • Poor poor Gollum indeed. This song has haunted me since hearing it in LOTR. I think Gollum is one of the most tragic characters of any work of literature, and the song's lyrics fit perfectly.

  • Heh, well, it would be the quintessential melancholy, wouldn't it? As he (Smeagol/Gollum) has spent 500 years as a runaway murder in solitude. It's very fitting, I think.

  • this song is stunning beautiful!

  • wow slit my wrists, a bit to melancholy i'd say

  • a wonderfull song

  • A hauntingly beautiful song, conceived and well written and sung with such remorse and feeling by a truly talented performer.

  • this song reminds me of my grandmother who was cold and subcluded and never let anyone in to her life.. and she know is suffer from alzheimer and it just always make me think mof her

  • poor poor gollum

  • I dedicate this song to my ex... My ex wife.

  • Never mind, i got them!!!!!!!!!

  • anyone got the lyrics? please!!!!!!!!!?

  • Can you hear those words the singer's singing? They're the lyrics.

  • Yeah, but sometimes you can't understand, or you get the words wrong! Anyway, thanks for your help, but I've got them now!

  • I guess you should go back to kindergarten to learn how to be polite to others.

  • god this song makes me cry. it sums up my parents' relationship in such a heart breaking way.

  • Very, very haunting! I love this song even though it is so full of despair. Must be the Irish in me.

  • God, I love that film.

  • There once was love..but now it's no more..(That has to be one of the saddiest lines spoken ever!)

  • what makes it even more sad is that the lyrics are "where once was love, love is no more" te song is beautiful, but really sad. This can be applied to a failed relationship.

  • hey where did u get ur clips from?

  • its the actual music video to gollum's song it can be found in the lord of the rings two towers dvd special edition

  • this song is haunting and captures the idea of gollum so well.....

  • gives me shivers!!!

  • wow!!!!! it's soo amazing, it fits the film perfectly!! icelandic artists are really inspiring, Emiliana is awesome!!

  • yes, she has such a stunning voice! i'm glad bjorkdidn't do it, I love bjork but Emiliana adds her own flair to it!

  • i love her and the song and her voice!! amazing!! aewsome! outstanding! i can go on on and on!
