  • Chic magnet!

  • @supersaturns And then some. LoL

  • no way! you still have the old-fashion drive-thrus? cool!

  • love how all these adults are acting just like kids again

  • lol ohhhh man at 0:46 we losst a wheel cover!!

  • Looks great... It just seems like the siren is a little fast and too high of a pitch otherwise it's pretty legit

  • @Crazymofocannoli The siren is the one from half way through GB 1, listen and you'll hear the difference, Ecto-1 had two sirens

  • on the siren here Mike, why doesnt the siren wind up and wind down it just automatically starts?

  • i noticed that in some of your video you have a slimer in the back window. where did you get it? im also trying to build a ecto myself and i have another question. you dont get in trouble for having the lights on your car or running the siren. any special permit or something?

  • Hey I was just wondering where do you get the Ecto-1 Siren sound from? Ive been trying to find one on the internet and cant find a decent one.

  • Hey man nice video. I am also on my way to building my own ecto-1. I can not wait till it is finished. If you don't mind I would like to shoot you an email, i have some questions about costs, parts to be found and etc hah.

  • No prob man. I'll help if I can, but I'm no expert, just very creative. :-) May I ask what you are using for your donor vehicle?

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • Thanks again man for the nice words. :-)

  • hey, you stole my car..lol.

  • Uhh.....Ok.

    :-)

  • great videos man, love em' love the KITT and Ecto cars. 2 of my favorite cars ever! who would have ever thought a hearse could be such a chick magnet. lol

  • Thanks.

    Mike

  • Ambulance

  • how much did that cost you to make?

    nice ecto 1 btw

  • Thanks for the nice words. As far as cost concerns go.....you'll have to email me directly to find that out. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • Thanks for the really nice words. Believe it or not, the ambulance was a junked up 1960 Cadi Ambulance that was white, red, orange, and a few colors I dont remember. :-) The roof is made up of several trips to Ace Hardware and Lowe's. Of course the police lights are real.....those were from Ebay. The siren is nothing more than a PA speaker that sits in the front lightbar. That speaker has a wire tapped into it from the radio. Then, all I do is loop an MP3 disk with the siren.

    :-)

    Mike

  • Definately one of the coolest replica cars I have ever seen,, its amazing that you found the car and all the accessories to go on top! How did you recreate that unique siren? I dont know if that is a standard siren box that was on ambulances of the 50s but whatever the case yours is spot on,,, the whole thing is so accurate I expected Murray or Akroyd to come walking into the shot LOL

  • Oh man that is so unbelivably cool. I would love to take a cruise around in that bad boy one time. Ive always loved that car lol

  • Maybe get the courage to use lights and sirens on public roads?

  • Show off :P

  • Who me? Whatever are you talking about? :-) I just believe in sharing.

    :-)

    :-)

  • How Much Would You Charge To Make Another One

  • you welcome

  • nice ecto you got there

  • Thank you.

  • all i gotta say is wow. i build ricers for hobby but that is just plain DAMN! Like it a lot. BTW, I live up here at Ft Bragg NC and theres a guy on post here with a Knight Rider trans am, and hes got it done up like the tv show model and he drives it around as an A to B piece of transportation. Id love to be able to work on that. Keep the vids comin!

  • I have a fully functional and accurate Knight Rider kitt car. There are several vids of it on this youtube page as well as my myspace page. Kitt had much more time and effort put into him then this car. :) They're both alot of fun though.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • thats the real siren of the ambulance or what type of siren is it??

  • It's actually an MP3 being played and then piped through a PA Speaker that is hidden in the forward lightbar. It works pretty decent. :)

    Thanks

  • great car !!

  • great car !!

  • I found a video of a siren that was used on 1959 Cadillac ambulances. It's a Federal C5GA Siren. If you watch ECTO in the 1st movie closely you can see this same type of siren on top of the car. Can you imagine if they used that siren instead of a recording in the movie? It kind of sounds like an old fire truck. If you ever come across one of those you need to put that on your car. That would be awesome!

  • Keep your eyes open.....one is coming soon.

    Mike

  • Hey just wondering what was that cop doing checking out the back?

  • Admiring the car I guess. He's a friend of mine in town. Peace man.

    Mike

  • I was about to ask the same thing. Any other cops give you any trouble over the blue lights?

  • They never give me problems with them because I only run them in parking lonts, private roads, or in parades....never on the public roads or highways. Then I'm sure they'd have something to say. :)

    Mike

  • What siren is used to make that sound?

  • An MP3 Player. :)

  • No. They even told me that I could use them just so long as I was on private property. It's all relative I guess. If you're going to go out and tear up the town....most likely the cops wont be too happy with what you're doing. Thanks man.

    Mike

  • Hey you ever get in trouble with the cops for having the sirens and lights?

  • They are very pricey!!!!

    Thanks for the words.

    Mike

  • What year is your Ecto? Was it hard to restore?

  • It is a 1960 Cadillac Superior Ambulance. She isn't fully restored yet.....but I'm finding that the work involved on a 48 year old ambulance is much different then my 20 something year old Kitt car. :)

    Mike

  • True. I'm sure they're both a lot of work. Those older hearse/ambulances usually have a lot of rust. There's one on Ebay now a 1959 with a lot of rust.

  • Not a bad job guys. Not a 59, but still looks the part. It's a shame the 59 is soo hard to find. I wish I could own one but my checkbook won't stand for it. Sigh!

  • You are so lucky to own an Ecto-1. I'm jealous man. I need to get rich on day and own me some classic cars!

  • It doesn't always require a ton of money to do these cars......just tons of patience.

    Mike

  • Mike driving a car thats not KITT, it doesnt look right ! lol, seriously though, Ecto looks great

  • Don't we all. :)

    Mike

  • i like KITT better

  • "Who yah gonna call?" :)

  • you lucky basterd its a freaking pussy wagon i cant belive how hot the girls were talking to you guys and pluss you have plenty of room in the back after you catch them XD

  • good job mike I like what you wife had to say about your Jeep I mean her Jeep lol

  • Man you guys have all the cool toys. First KITT and now Ecto1..Hate to say this but im jealous now.. Ecto is really taking shape now. Cant wait to see it finished..

  • Thanks. She still has a ways to go. Thanks for the words though. Peace man.

    Mike

  • Thanks.

  • very nice man!
