people ask the question... what's a rocknrolla? and I tell 'em - it's not about drums, drugs, and hospital drips, oh no. there's more there than that, my friend. we all like a bit of the good life, some the money, some the drugs, others the sex game, the glamour, or the fame. but a rocknrolla, oh, he's different. why? because a real rocknrolla wants the fucking lot.
Everyone's going on about how strange the baby comment is, but I think it's sweet in a sense. It's Mr Knightley trying to make sense of his feelings; it's a pretty pivotal moment to exchange vows with someone and I think this line tries to convey the sense that they have been close and loved one another (romantically or not) forever. There's nothing weird about it; clearly shes grown up now!
Best version. Mark Strong captures the jealousy of Frank Churchill the best. I especially love it when he goes "16 miles to get his hair cut!"- it makes me laugh :')
Kate Beckinsale is great as Emma. I think she captures the snobbery of Emma, but also her youthful spirit and compassion for others. Also I love how close this one is to the book. The only odd part is the baby comment before they kiss 0.o Emma is the best book ever :3
this is the best version of emma because it is old fashioned and it shows well how people in that time and age were. The other version is modern, though not bad, but it is not as good as this one.
Although this is not my favorite version of Emma, I do enjoy Mark Strong's outbursts about Frank Churchill throughout the movie - they are hilarious!!!
This scene between Emma and Knightley is so affecting - the idea that Knightley, who secretly loves her, comes to commiserate over her supposed desertion by Churchill is so sweet.
It reminds me of a lovely moment in the 1996 Sense and Sensibility, when Brandon (played by a very sweet Alan Rickman) helps Marianne into Willoughby's carriage and watches her drive off. His heart is obviously bleeding, but he smiles nevertheless because he can see that she, at least, is happy.

I think this version is as good as the 2006 version. Mr. Knightley is even more attached to her.

This really is the most exquisite Jane Austen production. Kate just shines as Emma. Knightley is such a lovely fellow!
Thank you for posting.
