first I really didnt like him at all, I thought that he was trying to be Freddie and that he was even better than him. But now, I like him.

I don't think he pretending to be Freddie, noone can. I think he is just himself, maybe some influences of Freddie.

No one can be Freddie, but I think he feels honoured, up in his heaven :)

Paul Rodgers IS one of the best vocalists to have come out of the Seventies (and the Stepford fans are gonna mark me down for saying even that 'NOOO FREDDIE WAS THE ONLY ONE' etc).

But he is more laid back, which suited the mood of the blues-influenced music he was writing with Free (almost single-handedly too as Paul Kossoff was out of it due to heroin addiction) more so than the grandiose Queen music and stage show now.

So in short, he has the voice, but not the shownmanship.

Paul is an incredible vocalist in their own right, and the mix of the two is brilliant, the emphasis for Queen's music is to get out to the generation that we now live in, so let's enjoy it, rather then slate it.

Queen was so great, because unlike other bands, the essence of the band was not contained within one member. Freddie was great but he alone didn't make Queen as great as they were. It was the combined talents of all of them that fell together in perfect harmony and made the band what it was. The remaining members are still great together and have more to share with the world. They wouldn't do it if they thought Freddie would have a problem with it.
