Queen died together with Freddie, and as John Deacon once said after Freddie's death;there's no point for Queen to go on without Freddie.he was the driving force behind the band's success.Rest in Peace,Queen along with Freddie!
This new Queen sounds like an american rock group, that singer, sounds like Bruce Springsteen with his stupid born in the USA song. Absolutely terrible sound. Out of respect for Freddie Queen should've stopped concerts with this new singer. It's like replacing the engine of a Jaguar with an engine from a Ford Escort.
oh yeah i totally agree, and i'd have loved to have seen freddie and queen live but unfortunately thats a bit before my time, but i saw queen + pr and its the best live show ive ever seen, its also really nice to hear the songs in a different way, they sound new and interesting, im just saying if half the people who were slagging paul off went and saw them live they'd definately be impressed. i was pretty dubious when i first heard about it as well
He wasn't talking about Paul Rodgers replacing Freddie. It's no secret Queen's popularity hit the roof and then kept going after Freddie died around the world, especially in the United States.
Hej Roger! Yo gammle man! Varför är du så gammal? Varför är du ihop med Breakthru tjejen. Hon suger ju kuk!
Look what is all this moaning about Paul Rodgers for? If someone came along who was more "Freddie-esque" all you would say is "this is disrespectful, he is trying to act like Freddie and he just isn't, it disgraces Queen". Paul Rodgers is Paul Rodgers, he has simply taken over from Freddie, he is in no way trying to replace him. If Paul Rodgers is good enough for Queen, what right do you have to say otherwise?
Paul Rodgers IS one of the best vocalists to have come out of the Seventies (and the Stepford fans are gonna mark me down for saying even that 'NOOO FREDDIE WAS THE ONLY ONE' etc).
But he is more laid back, which suited the mood of the blues-influenced music he was writing with Free (almost single-handedly too as Paul Kossoff was out of it due to heroin addiction) more so than the grandiose Queen music and stage show now.
So in short, he has the voice, but not the shownmanship.
If the point was to go out with a glorified tribute band, they would have chosen a Freddie tribute artist. They play their old hits because they are proud of their heritage, but this union of Paul Rodger and Queen is more about the future than the past.
no ne can replace freddie, but at least they shuold have chosen somebody more Freddiesque... George Michael for instance, who was great singing Queen songs... this guy doesn´t have... not even 10 per cent of Freddie´s charisma, is too common for a band like Queen...
I agree with you, to a point. No one will ever replace Freddie, which is why, when Paul joined Queen, he insisted that they become Queen + Paul Rogers, rather then just Queen!!!
Paul is an incredible vocalist in their own right, and the mix of the two is brilliant, the emphasis for Queen's music is to get out to the generation that we now live in, so let's enjoy it, rather then slate it.
can't agree with you there .. it would be the robbie williams and queen show instead of the Queen and paul rodgers show..
even tho i like robbie williams he would make to much of a robbie show instead of a Queen show.. what it should be and luckily is right now
unfortunately i have not yet been able to see one of their concerts but i have seen both DVD and own the Live album they brought out.. and it gave me goosebums all over
Robbie Williams is NOT a rocker and his singing sucks. It would be an insult to Freddies memory if he were to join Queen. Paul Rogers is the perfect choice. They also go back a long way which is very good for the chemistry
He´s been my crush for more than 20 years, and is still smoking hot! Brilliant drummer, great singer and a shy and down-to-earth kind of guy. Impossible not to love him.
Yeah I know, the clothes, specially in the 70´s...but although he had this wild image the guy is a polite english man as well as you see in his interviews. English rockers are charming because of that: polite AND wild at the same time!!
Hey I saw the show in spring and it was great, I also saw them when they Freddie was singing. Roger and I go way back :) .. and believe me .... he looks wonderful !! Belle
Queen was so great, because unlike other bands, the essence of the band was not contained within one member. Freddie was great but he alone didn't make Queen as great as they were. It was the combined talents of all of them that fell together in perfect harmony and made the band what it was. The remaining members are still great together and have more to share with the world. They wouldn't do it if they thought Freddie would have a problem with it.
It's not excellent without freddie? what kind of thing to say is that? freddie wasn't the whole soul of the band, but he certainly was the heart. it is not completely queen without him. Not a single bad word about paul rodgers, but they would do better.. without him, kinda'!
Queen - great. Paul Rodgers - great. Queen + Paul Rodgers - abomination. The two styles definitely do NOT mesh! Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for the new singer to be a Freddie-clone, but so many for example from the Tribute concert for Freddie sung MUCH better with Queen than Paul Rodgers does.
' you'd think Paul Rodger's, was with them wen they formed back in the 70's'...lol, i dont fucking think so Richard. Notice how he glances at Roger after sayin tht.....wot a prick u r Richard

He said "Yeah, but he's got quite a few copies now but he still uses the main one when live" (Roughly) I don't think Queen are playing stronger, if anything weaker, The crowd aren't in a frenzy with Rodgers, nobody can and will ever beat what Freddie brought to the band.

He said "Yeah, but he's got quite a few copies now but he still uses the main one when live" (Roughly) I don't think Queen are playing stronger, if anything weaker, The crowd aren't in a frenzy with Rodgers, nobody can and will ever beat what Freddie brought to the band.
