Good Machine...I have two 727A's and a 757. 727s are the same style just has 23 hp and 54" deck. Love them. 757 is 25 hp horizontal and 60" deck. 757 has over 1500 hours still going no problems.
I have seen other brands of mowers their quality isn't anything like the John Deere or Dixie Chopper. You can tell that the frame won't stand up to the abuse the mowers go through over time. That Deere will be around when others are being hauled in for scrap metal.
I have one almost like that one (Z445 John Deere) and it is a work horse cutting my large lawn in no time. With 25hp Kawasaki motor it will cut through grass like it is nothing. It is easy to clean the grass and leaves out like you had to do by lifting the plate your feet is on and blowing them out.
I would rather use a Billy Goat blower. Mulching them takes to long and it makes a ton of dust. I use to have a 62 inch Button 25 HP but I sold it when I stopped landscaping. It went for 6,000 at the time.

There is just something different about the John Deere's, they last forever!! People can say what they like, but John Deere has proven it's reliabilty in its old tractor's, exmark hasn't really done that!!
At my school they have a 717A and a 797 with a 60" deck. They are nice mowers, fast and they get the job done. At my old school they had a 717A with a Power Flow Bagger on it, and the power bagger was better than a bagger with no blower.
@macdonaldjohnstonfan I agree with you there. I have looked at the new zero turn mowers offered by other companies and only the Dixie Chopper will be the John Deere. It has a Kawasaki 39hp motor on it's stainless steel frame. The quality matches that of John Deere except for the frame which is better. After looking at the poor decks, and many other weak areas of John Deere's competition you can't beat a Deere.

GT235 is a nice machine. The JD dealer is a friend of mine, and he cuts me breaks on JD equipment. We bought an X500..(GREAT MOWER!) with a 54' cut for $4500 out the door. His mechanics just put together a 997 Z-Track and he let me take it out to the yard...WOW!! That is a great machine. I have an LT180 with the power-flow bagger AND snowblade. I got a GREAT deal on it, but I am looking to move up to the X540.

With attachments
Can't get around that payment! I got one nice baseball cap, a very nice JD strawhat - good enough to wear to church and a steering wheel knob. I only own the X595 and an HPX Gator - both with yanmar deisel engines but have bought a lot of high dollar attachments. Oh yea - my last purchase earned me a $50 coupon from J.D. plus the local dealer gave me an additional 5 percent discount. Later
Those are some of the top of the line mowers its too bad they dont come with bagging systems
